Your cleansing filter, O Lord of Prayer, is spread out. As the Lord, you encompass all limbs everywhere. One whose body is not heated (prepared) does not attain it; only those who are cooked and bear it, they achieve it.
This verse is an invocation to Brahmanaspati, the Lord of prayer, describing his "cleansing filter" (pavitra). This filter is presented as vast and all-encompassing. The verse states that a person who is not properly prepared or "heated" (ataptatanu) cannot access this purification, while those who are "cooked" or "dressed" (sr̥tāsaḥ) and carry the essence of this purification can attain it. It highlights the importance of proper preparation and ritualistic process to receive Brahmanaspati's blessings.

The purifying sieve, born of heat, is spread in the seat of the sky. Its threads shone and became distinct. The swift powers protect its purifier; with consciousness, they stand upon the high firmament of the sky.
This verse describes the "cleansing filter" (pavitram) of Agni (the "scorcher") as being spread high in the heavens. Its threads (tantavah) are luminous and distinct. The swift energies or powers (āśavaḥ) favor the one who purifies this filter. These powers, with their consciousness (chetasa), stand upon the heavenly heights (divah prishtham), indicating a divine connection and support for those engaged in purification and spiritual ascent.
