परि॒ सोम॑ ऋ॒तं बृ॒हदा॒शुः प॒वित्रे॑ अर्षति | वि॒घ्नन्रक्षां॑सि देव॒युः ||
pári sóma r̥tám br̥hád āśúḥ pavítre arṣati vighnán rákṣāṁsi devayúḥ
O Soma, swift and great, flowing with cosmic order through the pure filters, you destroy the demons, eager for the gods.
This verse describes the divine Soma, personified as swift and mighty, flowing through purifying filters. It is portrayed as embodying cosmic order (Ṛta) and vastness (Bṛhat). In its divine journey, Soma actively destroys demonic forces (Rakṣāṃsi) and yearns for connection with the gods, showcasing its active role in cosmic maintenance and divine harmony.

When Soma flows with strength and vigor, a hundred active streams enter into friendship with Indra.

Ten women sing to you, Soma, like a maiden to her lover. You are purified, O Soma, to win.
