Stanza 9.107.1

परी॒तो षि॑ञ्चता सु॒तं सोमो॒ य उ॑त्त॒मं ह॒विः | द॒ध॒न्वाँ यो नर्यो॑ अ॒प्स्व१॒॑न्तरा सु॒षाव॒ सोम॒मद्रि॑भिः ||

párītó ṣiñcatā sutáṁ sómo yá uttamáṁ havíḥ dadhanvā́m̐ yó náryo apsv àntár ā́ suṣā́va sómam ádribhiḥ

Sprinkle forth the pressed juice, O priests! Soma, the best offering. He who is present in the waters, a friend to humans, has pressed the Soma with stones.

Stanza 9.107.2

नू॒नं पु॑ना॒नोऽवि॑भिः॒ परि॑ स्र॒वाद॑ब्धः सुर॒भिंत॑रः | सु॒ते चि॑त्त्वा॒प्सु म॑दामो॒ अन्ध॑सा श्री॒णन्तो॒ गोभि॒रुत्त॑रम् ||

nūnám punānó 'vibhiḥ pári sravā́dabdhaḥ surabhíntaraḥ suté cit tvāpsú madāmo ándhasā śrīṇánto góbhir úttaram

Now, purifying yourself with wool, flow forth! You are inviolate and most fragrant. We enjoy you in the waters when pressed, mingling with the exhilarant [drink] and milk.

Stanza 9.107.3

परि॑ सुवा॒नश्चक्ष॑से देव॒माद॑नः॒ क्रतु॒रिन्दु॑र्विचक्ष॒णः ||

pári suvānáś cákṣase devamā́danaḥ krátur índur vicakṣaṇáḥ

Pressed out, Indu, you are seen by all, delighting the Gods. You are the insightful, powerful one.

Stanza 9.107.4

पु॒ना॒नः सो॑म॒ धार॑या॒पो वसा॑नो अर्षसि | आ र॑त्न॒धा योनि॑मृ॒तस्य॑ सीद॒स्युत्सो॑ देव हिर॒ण्ययः॑ ||

punānáḥ soma dhā́rayāpó vásāno arṣasi ā́ ratnadhā́ yónim r̥tásya sīdasy útso deva hiraṇyáyaḥ

O Soma, purifying yourself in the stream, you flow, clothed in water. You, the giver of wealth, sit in the place of order, a golden fountain.

Stanza 9.107.5

दु॒हा॒न ऊध॑र्दि॒व्यं मधु॑ प्रि॒यं प्र॒त्नं स॒धस्थ॒मास॑दत् | आ॒पृच्छ्यं॑ ध॒रुणं॑ वा॒ज्य॑र्षति॒ नृभि॑र्धू॒तो वि॑चक्ष॒णः ||

duhāná ū́dhar divyám mádhu priyám pratnáṁ sadhástham ā́sadat āpŕ̥chyaṁ dharúṇaṁ vājy àrṣati nŕ̥bhir dhūtó vicakṣaṇáḥ

Milking the divine udder for sweet mead, you have settled in the ancient place. Washed by the men, the powerful one flows forth, bringing food that delights.

Stanza 9.107.6

पु॒ना॒नः सो॑म॒ जागृ॑वि॒रव्यो॒ वारे॒ परि॑ प्रि॒यः | त्वं विप्रो॑ अभ॒वोऽङ्गि॑रस्तमो॒ मध्वा॑ य॒ज्ञं मि॑मिक्ष नः ||

punānáḥ soma jā́gr̥vir ávyo vā́re pári priyáḥ tváṁ vípro abhavó 'ṅgirastamo mádhvā yajñám mimikṣa naḥ

O Soma, while you are being purified, dear and watchful in the wool, you have become a singer like Angiras, the best among the divine. You mix our sacrifice with sweetness.

Stanza 9.107.7

सोमो॑ मी॒ढ्वान्प॑वते गातु॒वित्त॑म॒ ऋषि॒र्विप्रो॑ विचक्ष॒णः | त्वं क॒विर॑भवो देव॒वीत॑म॒ आ सूर्यं॑ रोहयो दि॒वि ||

sómo mīḍhvā́n pavate gātuvíttama ŕ̥ṣir vípro vicakṣaṇáḥ tváṁ kavír abhavo devavī́tama ā́ sū́ryaṁ rohayo diví

O Soma, flowing bountifully, you are the best purifier, a sage, a seer, a wise one. You became the most welcome to the gods; you made the sun rise in the sky.

Stanza 9.107.8

सोम॑ उ षुवा॒णः सो॒तृभि॒रधि॒ ष्णुभि॒रवी॑नाम् | अश्व॑येव ह॒रिता॑ याति॒ धार॑या म॒न्द्रया॑ याति॒ धार॑या ||

sóma u ṣuvāṇáḥ sotŕ̥bhir ádhi ṣṇúbhir ávīnām áśvayeva harítā yāti dhā́rayā mandráyā yāti dhā́rayā

O Soma, pressed by the pressers, you move over the backs of the sheep. You go with a tawny stream, like a mare, you go with an exhilarating stream.

Stanza 9.107.9

अ॒नू॒पे गोमा॒न्गोभि॑रक्षाः॒ सोमो॑ दु॒ग्धाभि॑रक्षाः | स॒मु॒द्रं न सं॒वर॑णान्यग्मन्म॒न्दी मदा॑य तोशते ||

anūpé gómān góbhir akṣāḥ sómo dugdhā́bhir akṣāḥ samudráṁ ná saṁváraṇāny agman mandī́ mádāya tośate

Soma, rich with cows and milk, flowed into the water. Like a sea, it approached the mixing vessels. The gladdener flows for enjoyment.

Stanza 9.107.10

आ सो॑म सुवा॒नो अद्रि॑भिस्ति॒रो वारा॑ण्य॒व्यया॑ | जनो॒ न पु॒रि च॒म्वो॑र्विश॒द्धरिः॒ सदो॒ वने॑षु दधिषे ||

ā́ soma suvānó ádribhis tiró vā́rāṇy avyáyā jáno ná purí camvòr viśad dháriḥ sádo váneṣu dadhiṣe

O Soma, pressed by stones and passing through the wool, you enter the vessels like a person enters a fort. Golden one, you have settled in the forest.

Stanza 9.107.11

स मा॑मृजे ति॒रो अण्वा॑नि मे॒ष्यो॑ मी॒ळ्हे सप्ति॒र्न वा॑ज॒युः | अ॒नु॒माद्यः॒ पव॑मानो मनी॒षिभिः॒ सोमो॒ विप्रे॑भि॒र्ऋक्व॑भिः ||

sá māmr̥je tiró áṇvāni meṣyò mīḷhé sáptir ná vājayúḥ anumā́dyaḥ pávamāno manīṣíbhiḥ sómo víprebhir ŕ̥kvabhiḥ

He beautifies himself through the fine wool, like a warhorse. You, the Soma Pavamana, are desirable to sages and holy bards.

Stanza 9.107.12

प्र सो॑म दे॒ववी॑तये॒ सिन्धु॒र्न पि॑प्ये॒ अर्ण॑सा | अं॒शोः पय॑सा मदि॒रो न जागृ॑वि॒रच्छा॒ कोशं॑ मधु॒श्चुत॑म् ||

prá soma devávītaye síndhur ná pipye árṇasā aṁśóḥ páyasā madiró ná jā́gr̥vir áchā kóśam madhuścútam

O Soma, flow for the gods' feast, swelling like a river with its surge. With the stalk's juice and milk, vigilant, you move towards the vat dripping with mead.

Stanza 9.107.13

आ ह॑र्य॒तो अर्जु॑ने॒ अत्के॑ अव्यत प्रि॒यः सू॒नुर्न मर्ज्यः॑ | तमीं॑ हिन्वन्त्य॒पसो॒ यथा॒ रथं॑ न॒दीष्वा गभ॑स्त्योः ||

ā́ haryató árjune átke avyata priyáḥ sūnúr ná márjyaḥ tám īṁ hinvanty apáso yáthā ráthaṁ nadī́ṣv ā́ gábhastyoḥ

Like a dear son, the lovely one clothed himself in a bright robe. Skilled workers drive him like a chariot into the rivers.

Stanza 9.107.14

अ॒भि सोमा॑स आ॒यवः॒ पव॑न्ते॒ मद्यं॒ मद॑म् | स॒मु॒द्रस्याधि॑ वि॒ष्टपि॑ मनी॒षिणो॑ मत्स॒रासः॑ स्व॒र्विदः॑ ||

abhí sómāsa āyávaḥ pávante mádyam mádam samudrásyā́dhi viṣṭápi manīṣíṇo matsarā́saḥ svarvídaḥ

The living Soma drops flow, pouring forth the exhilarating drink. Intelligent and exhilarating, they rise above the sea-like vessel, seeking light.

Stanza 9.107.15

तर॑त्समु॒द्रं पव॑मान ऊ॒र्मिणा॒ राजा॑ दे॒व ऋ॒तं बृ॒हत् | अर्ष॑न्मि॒त्रस्य॒ वरु॑णस्य॒ धर्म॑णा॒ प्र हि॑न्वा॒न ऋ॒तं बृ॒हत् ||

tárat samudrám pávamāna ūrmíṇā rā́jā devá r̥tám br̥hát árṣan mitrásya váruṇasya dhármaṇā prá hinvāná r̥tám br̥hát

May the flowing Soma, King and God, speed with his wave over the sea for the great order. May he flow, by Mitra's and Varuna's decree, furthering the great order.

Stanza 9.107.16

नृभि॑र्येमा॒नो ह॑र्य॒तो वि॑चक्ष॒णो राजा॑ दे॒वः स॑मु॒द्रियः॑ ||

nŕ̥bhir yemānó haryató vicakṣaṇó rā́jā deváḥ samudríyaḥ

Far-seeing and lovely, guided by men, the God who dwells in the sea.

Stanza 9.107.17

इन्द्रा॑य पवते॒ मदः॒ सोमो॑ म॒रुत्व॑ते सु॒तः | स॒हस्र॑धारो॒ अत्यव्य॑मर्षति॒ तमी॑ मृजन्त्या॒यवः॑ ||

índrāya pavate mádaḥ sómo marútvate sutáḥ sahásradhāro áty ávyam arṣati tám ī mr̥janty āyávaḥ

Soma, the exhilarant juice, flows for Indra with his Maruts. With a thousand streams, it rushes over the wool. The followers purify it.

Stanza 9.107.18

पु॒ना॒नश्च॒मू ज॒नय॑न्म॒तिं क॒विः सोमो॑ दे॒वेषु॑ रण्यति | अ॒पो वसा॑नः॒ परि॒ गोभि॒रुत्त॑रः॒ सीद॒न्वने॑ष्वव्यत ||

punānáś camū́ janáyan matíṁ kavíḥ sómo devéṣu raṇyati apó vásānaḥ pári góbhir úttaraḥ sī́dan váneṣv avyata

Purified in the bowl, generating thought, the wise Soma rejoices among the Gods. Clothed in water, the mighty one settles in the woods, purified with milk.

Stanza 9.107.19

तवा॒हं सो॑म रारण स॒ख्य इ॑न्दो दि॒वेदि॑वे | पु॒रूणि॑ बभ्रो॒ नि च॑रन्ति॒ मामव॑ परि॒धीँरति॒ ताँ इ॑हि ||

távāháṁ soma rāraṇa sakhyá indo divé-dive purū́ṇi babhro ní caranti mā́m áva paridhī́m̐r áti tā́m̐ ihi

O Soma, O Indu, your friendship is my delight every day. Many fiends surround me; help me, O Tawny one, and pass beyond these barriers.

Stanza 9.107.20

उ॒ताहं नक्त॑मु॒त सो॑म ते॒ दिवा॑ स॒ख्याय॑ बभ्र॒ ऊध॑नि | घृ॒णा तप॑न्त॒मति॒ सूर्यं॑ प॒रः श॑कु॒ना इ॑व पप्तिम ||

utā́háṁ náktam utá soma te dívā sakhyā́ya babhra ū́dhani ghr̥ṇā́ tápantam áti sū́ryam paráḥ śakunā́ iva paptima

I am close to you, O Soma, day and night, for friendship. O Tawny one, your glow shines brightly. We have overtaken you like birds overtaking their flight.

Stanza 9.107.21

मृ॒ज्यमा॑नः सुहस्त्य समु॒द्रे वाच॑मिन्वसि | र॒यिं पि॒शङ्गं॑ बहु॒लं पु॑रु॒स्पृहं॒ पव॑माना॒भ्य॑र्षसि ||

mr̥jyámānaḥ suhastya samudré vā́cam invasi rayím piśáṅgam bahulám puruspŕ̥ham pávamānābhy àrṣasi

O deft-handed one, as you are purified, you raise your voice in the sea [of Soma]. Flowing, you make abundant, desirable riches flow forth.

Stanza 9.107.22

मृ॒जा॒नो वारे॒ पव॑मानो अ॒व्यये॒ वृषाव॑ चक्रदो॒ वने॑ | दे॒वानां॑ सोम पवमान निष्कृ॒तं गोभि॑रञ्जा॒नो अ॑र्षसि ||

mr̥jānó vā́re pávamāno avyáye vŕ̥ṣā́va cakrado váne devā́nāṁ soma pavamāna niṣkr̥táṁ góbhir añjānó arṣasi

Purified in the wool, O Soma Pavamana, you have bellowed like a bull in the wood. Clothed in water and milk, you flow to the place of the Gods, making yourself bright.

Stanza 9.107.23

पव॑स्व॒ वाज॑सातये॒ऽभि विश्वा॑नि॒ काव्या॑ | त्वं स॑मु॒द्रं प्र॑थ॒मो वि धा॑रयो दे॒वेभ्यः॑ सोम मत्स॒रः ||

pávasva vā́jasātaye 'bhí víśvāni kā́vyā tváṁ samudrám prathamó ví dhārayo devébhyaḥ soma matsaráḥ

Flow, O Soma, for strength and all wisdom. You, the first exhilarator, spread the sea [of Soma] for the gods.

Stanza 9.107.24

स तू प॑वस्व॒ परि॒ पार्थि॑वं॒ रजो॑ दि॒व्या च॑ सोम॒ धर्म॑भिः | त्वां विप्रा॑सो म॒तिभि॑र्विचक्षण शु॒भ्रं हि॑न्वन्ति धी॒तिभिः॑ ||

sá tū́ pavasva pári pā́rthivaṁ rájo divyā́ ca soma dhármabhiḥ tvā́ṁ víprāso matíbhir vicakṣaṇa śubhráṁ hinvanti dhītíbhiḥ

Flow through the earthly realm and the heavenly realm, O Soma, with your laws. O far-seeing one, the sages urge you onward with their thoughts and hymns, making you bright.

Stanza 9.107.25

पव॑माना असृक्षत प॒वित्र॒मति॒ धार॑या | म॒रुत्व॑न्तो मत्स॒रा इ॑न्द्रि॒या हया॑ मे॒धाम॒भि प्रयां॑सि च ||

pávamānā asr̥kṣata pavítram áti dhā́rayā marútvanto matsarā́ indriyā́ háyā medhā́m abhí práyāṁsi ca

The flowing Soma drops have flowed through the sieve with their stream. Surrounded by the Maruts, exhilarating like steeds, they bring wisdom and nourishment.

Stanza 9.107.26

अ॒पो वसा॑नः॒ परि॒ कोश॑मर्ष॒तीन्दु॑र्हिया॒नः सो॒तृभिः॑ | ज॒नय॒ञ्ज्योति॑र्म॒न्दना॑ अवीवश॒द्गाः कृ॑ण्वा॒नो न नि॒र्णिज॑म् ||

apó vásānaḥ pári kóśam arṣatī́ndur hiyānáḥ sotŕ̥bhiḥ janáyañ jyótir mandánā avīvaśad gā́ḥ kr̥ṇvānó ná nirṇíjam

Clad in watery robes, Indu flows towards the vat. Urged by the pressers, generating light, he makes the streams low, taking them as his adornment.
