Stanza 9.108.1

पव॑स्व॒ मधु॑मत्तम॒ इन्द्रा॑य सोम क्रतु॒वित्त॑मो॒ मदः॑ | महि॑ द्यु॒क्षत॑मो॒ मदः॑ ||

pávasva mádhumattama índrāya soma kratuvíttamo mádaḥ máhi dyukṣátamo mádaḥ

Flow for Indra, O Soma, most delightful and intelligent! May your exhilaration be the greatest, and your presence the most joyous!

Stanza 9.108.2

यस्य॑ ते पी॒त्वा वृ॑ष॒भो वृ॑षा॒यते॒ऽस्य पी॒ता स्व॒र्विदः॑ | स सु॒प्रके॑तो अ॒भ्य॑क्रमी॒दिषोऽच्छा॒ वाजं॒ नैत॑शः ||

yásya te pītvā́ vr̥ṣabhó vr̥ṣāyáte 'syá pītā́ svarvídaḥ sá supráketo abhy àkramīd íṣó 'chā vā́jaṁ naítaśaḥ

He who drinks you becomes like a powerful bull, acting with vigor. After drinking, one attains brilliance and possesses great strength and wealth.

Stanza 9.108.3

त्वं ह्य१॒॑ङ्ग दैव्या॒ पव॑मान॒ जनि॑मानि द्यु॒मत्त॑मः | अ॒मृ॒त॒त्वाय॑ घो॒षयः॑ ||

tváṁ hy àṅgá daívyā pávamāna jánimāni dyumáttamaḥ amr̥tatvā́ya ghoṣáyaḥ

Indeed, O divine Pavamana, you are the most brilliant, announcing immortality to all generations.

Stanza 9.108.4

येना॒ नव॑ग्वो द॒ध्यङ्ङ॑पोर्णु॒ते येन॒ विप्रा॑स आपि॒रे | दे॒वानां॑ सु॒म्ने अ॒मृत॑स्य॒ चारु॑णो॒ येन॒ श्रवां॑स्यान॒शुः ||

yénā návagvo dadhyáṅṅ aporṇuté yéna víprāsa āpiré devā́nāṁ sumné amŕ̥tasya cā́ruṇo yéna śrávāṁsy ānaśúḥ

By means of which Dadhyanch opened what was closed; by which the sages attained their desires and the sweet immortality in the favor of the gods, and gained renown.

Stanza 9.108.5

ए॒ष स्य धार॑या सु॒तोऽव्यो॒ वारे॑भिः पवते म॒दिन्त॑मः | क्रीळ॑न्नू॒र्मिर॒पामि॑व ||

eṣá syá dhā́rayā sutó 'vyo vā́rebhiḥ pavate madíntamaḥ krī́ḷann ūrmír apā́m iva

This pressed Soma flows in a stream, the best source of joy, moving like a wave of the waters, bestowing rapture.

Stanza 9.108.6

य उ॒स्रिया॒ अप्या॑ अ॒न्तरश्म॑नो॒ निर्गा अकृ॑न्त॒दोज॑सा | अ॒भि व्र॒जं त॑त्निषे॒ गव्य॒मश्व्यं॑ व॒र्मीव॑ धृष्ण॒वा रु॑ज ||

yá usríyā ápyā antár áśmano nír gā́ ákr̥ntad ójasā abhí vrajáṁ tatniṣe gávyam áśvyaṁ varmī́va dhr̥ṣṇav ā́ ruja

You who, with strength, released the radiant waters from the rocky enclosure. You conquered the wealth of cattle and horses; break through, O bold one!

Stanza 9.108.7

आ सो॑ता॒ परि॑ षिञ्च॒ताश्वं॒ न स्तोम॑म॒प्तुरं॑ रज॒स्तुर॑म् | व॒न॒क्र॒क्षमु॑द॒प्रुत॑म् ||

ā́ sotā pári ṣiñcatā́śvaṁ ná stómam aptúraṁ rajastúram vanakrakṣám udaprútam

O pressers, pour him around! Like a steed, laudable, swift through regions and waters, like a wave of the waters.

Stanza 9.108.8

स॒हस्र॑धारं वृष॒भं प॑यो॒वृधं॑ प्रि॒यं दे॒वाय॒ जन्म॑ने | ऋ॒तेन॒ य ऋ॒तजा॑तो विवावृ॒धे राजा॑ दे॒व ऋ॒तं बृ॒हत् ||

sahásradhāraṁ vr̥ṣabhám payovŕ̥dham priyáṁ devā́ya jánmane r̥téna yá r̥tájāto vivāvr̥dhé rā́jā devá r̥tám br̥hát

The bull with a thousand streams, promoter of nourishment, dear to the divine birth. By Rta, it has grown; the great king, god, and Rta.

Stanza 9.108.9

अ॒भि द्यु॒म्नं बृ॒हद्यश॒ इष॑स्पते दिदी॒हि दे॑व देव॒युः | वि कोशं॑ मध्य॒मं यु॑व ||

abhí dyumnám br̥hád yáśa íṣas pate didīhí deva devayúḥ ví kóśam madhyamáṁ yuva

Shine forth, O Soma, Lord of sustenance, with great glory and fame! O God, friend of the gods, open the middle vessel!

Stanza 9.108.10

आ व॑च्यस्व सुदक्ष च॒म्वोः॑ सु॒तो वि॒शां वह्नि॒र्न वि॒श्पतिः॑ | वृ॒ष्टिं दि॒वः प॑वस्व री॒तिम॒पां जिन्वा॒ गवि॑ष्टये॒ धियः॑ ||

ā́ vacyasva sudakṣa camvòḥ sutó viśā́ṁ váhnir ná viśpátiḥ vr̥ṣṭíṁ diváḥ pavasva rītím apā́ṁ jínvā gáviṣṭaye dhíyaḥ

Roll onward, O powerful one, into the bowls, supporter of the people, like a leader! Flow with the rain of heaven and the waters' flow, stimulate thoughts for gaining sustenance.

Stanza 9.108.11

ए॒तमु॒ त्यं म॑द॒च्युतं॑ स॒हस्र॑धारं वृष॒भं दिवो॑ दुहुः | विश्वा॒ वसू॑नि॒ बिभ्र॑तम् ||

etám u tyám madacyútaṁ sahásradhāraṁ vr̥ṣabháṁ dívo duhuḥ víśvā vásūni bíbhratam

They have drawn forth this Soma, the bull of heaven with a thousand streams, the source of delight, bearing all wealth.

Stanza 9.108.12

वृषा॒ वि ज॑ज्ञे ज॒नय॒न्नम॑र्त्यः प्र॒तप॒ञ्ज्योति॑षा॒ तमः॑ | स सुष्टु॑तः क॒विभि॑र्नि॒र्णिजं॑ दधे त्रि॒धात्व॑स्य॒ दंस॑सा ||

vŕ̥ṣā ví jajñe janáyann ámartyaḥ pratápañ jyótiṣā támaḥ sá súṣṭutaḥ kavíbhir nirṇíjaṁ dadhe tridhā́tv asya dáṁsasā

The mighty, immortal bull was born, generating life, burning away darkness with light. Well-praised by sages, he took on the threefold essence with his power.

Stanza 9.108.13

स सु॑न्वे॒ यो वसू॑नां॒ यो रा॒यामा॑ने॒ता य इळा॑नाम् | सोमो॒ यः सु॑क्षिती॒नाम् ||

sá sunve yó vásūnāṁ yó rāyā́m ānetā́ yá íḷānām sómo yáḥ sukṣitīnā́m

He is effused, who is the leader of wealths, the leader of riches, and the best provider of food. Soma is the best provider of good homes.

Stanza 9.108.14

यस्य॑ न॒ इन्द्रः॒ पिबा॒द्यस्य॑ म॒रुतो॒ यस्य॑ वार्य॒मणा॒ भगः॑ | आ येन॑ मि॒त्रावरु॑णा॒ करा॑मह॒ एन्द्र॒मव॑से म॒हे ||

yásya na índraḥ píbād yásya marúto yásya vāryamáṇā bhágaḥ ā́ yéna mitrā́váruṇā kárāmaha éndram ávase mahé

Whom may Indra drink, whom may the Maruts drink; whom may Bhaga and Aryaman drink! By which we invoke Mitra and Varuna and Indra for great protection.

Stanza 9.108.15

इन्द्रा॑य सोम॒ पात॑वे॒ नृभि॑र्य॒तः स्वा॑यु॒धो म॒दिन्त॑मः | पव॑स्व॒ मधु॑मत्तमः ||

índrāya soma pā́tave nŕ̥bhir yatáḥ svāyudhó madíntamaḥ pávasva mádhumattamaḥ

O Soma, for Indra's drink, flow! Led by men, well-equipped and most delightful, flow with utmost sweetness.

Stanza 9.108.16

इन्द्र॑स्य॒ हार्दि॑ सोम॒धान॒मा वि॑श समु॒द्रमि॑व॒ सिन्ध॑वः | जुष्टो॑ मि॒त्राय॒ वरु॑णाय वा॒यवे॑ दि॒वो वि॑ष्ट॒म्भ उ॑त्त॒मः ||

índrasya hā́rdi somadhā́nam ā́ viśa samudrám iva síndhavaḥ júṣṭo mitrā́ya váruṇāya vāyáve divó viṣṭambhá uttamáḥ

Enter, O Soma, into Indra's heart, like rivers entering the ocean. Pleasing to Mitra, Varuna, and Vayu, the highest support of heaven.
