उपो॑ रुरुचे युव॒तिर्न योषा॒ विश्वं॑ जी॒वं प्र॑सु॒वन्ती॑ च॒रायै॑ | अभू॑द॒ग्निः स॒मिधे॒ मानु॑षाणा॒मक॒र्ज्योति॒र्बाध॑माना॒ तमां॑सि ||
úpo ruruce yuvatír ná yóṣā víśvaṁ jīvám prasuvántī carā́yai ábhūd agníḥ samídhe mā́nuṣāṇām ákar jyótir bā́dhamānā támāṁsi
She shone brightly like a young woman, awakening every living creature to move. Agni has come to feed on the fuel of humans. She has created light, driving away the darkness.

Turning towards everything, widely spreading, she rose, wearing bright white garments. She shone with a golden color, the mother of cows, the guide of days, she shone forth.

Dawn, draw near with wealth, and drive away the enemy. Make for us wide pastures that are free from fear. Drive away hatred, bring us riches. O wealthy one, bestow bounty upon the singer.

O Dawn, O Goddess, shine upon us with your best rays, extending our life. And granting us nourishment, O you who are precious in all things, and wealth rich in cows, horses, and chariots.

O Ushas, nobly-born daughter of Heaven, whom the Vasishthas make mighty with their hymns, place in us vast and glorious riches. You all protect us always with blessings.
