Stanza 4.32.1

आ तू न॑ इन्द्र वृत्रहन्न॒स्माक॑म॒र्धमा ग॑हि | म॒हान्म॒हीभि॑रू॒तिभिः॑ ||

ā́ tū́ na indra vr̥trahann asmā́kam ardhám ā́ gahi mahā́n mahī́bhir ūtíbhiḥ

O Indra, slayer of Vritra, come to us with your great, mighty aids.

Stanza 4.32.2

भृमि॑श्चिद्घासि॒ तूतु॑जि॒रा चि॑त्र चि॒त्रिणी॒ष्वा | चि॒त्रं कृ॑णोष्यू॒तये॑ ||

bhŕ̥miś cid ghāsi tū́tujir ā́ citra citríṇīṣv ā́ citráṁ kr̥ṇoṣy ūtáye

You are swift and powerful, O wonderful Indra, among the people; you perform wonders for our help.

Stanza 4.32.3

द॒भ्रेभि॑श्चि॒च्छशी॑यांसं॒ हंसि॒ व्राध॑न्त॒मोज॑सा | सखि॑भि॒र्ये त्वे सचा॑ ||

dabhrébhiś cic cháśīyāṁsaṁ háṁsi vrā́dhantam ójasā sákhibhir yé tvé sácā

Even with the weak, you strike down the stronger one with your strength; you do this with friends who are with you.

Stanza 4.32.4

व॒यमि॑न्द्र॒ त्वे सचा॑ व॒यं त्वा॒भि नो॑नुमः | अ॒स्मा॑स्माँ॒ इदुद॑व ||

vayám indra tvé sácā vayáṁ tvābhí nonumaḥ asmā́m̐-asmām̐ íd úd ava

We are with you, Indra; we praise you. We call upon you for help and protection.

Stanza 4.32.5

स न॑श्चि॒त्राभि॑रद्रिवोऽनव॒द्याभि॑रू॒तिभिः॑ | अना॑धृष्टाभि॒रा ग॑हि ||

sá naś citrā́bhir adrivo 'navadyā́bhir ūtíbhiḥ ánādhr̥ṣṭābhir ā́ gahi

O Indra, wielder of the thunderbolt, come to us with your wonderful, blameless, and irresistible aids.

Stanza 4.32.6

भू॒यामो॒ षु त्वाव॑तः॒ सखा॑य इन्द्र॒ गोम॑तः | युजो॒ वाजा॑य॒ घृष्व॑ये ||

bhūyā́mo ṣú tvā́vataḥ sákhāya indra gómataḥ yújo vā́jāya ghŕ̥ṣvaye

May we become your friends, O Indra, friends with the wealthy in cattle, companions for vigorous effort.

Stanza 4.32.7

त्वं ह्येक॒ ईशि॑ष॒ इन्द्र॒ वाज॑स्य॒ गोम॑तः | स नो॑ यन्धि म॒हीमिष॑म् ||

tváṁ hy éka ī́śiṣa índra vā́jasya gómataḥ sá no yandhi mahī́m íṣam

Indeed, you alone are the lord of wealth derived from cattle, O Indra; grant us abundant sustenance.

Stanza 4.32.8

न त्वा॑ वरन्ते अ॒न्यथा॒ यद्दित्स॑सि स्तु॒तो म॒घम् | स्तो॒तृभ्य॑ इन्द्र गिर्वणः ||

ná tvā varante anyáthā yád dítsasi stutó maghám stotŕ̥bhya indra girvaṇaḥ

O Indra, lover of praise, they do not turn you away when, praised, you intend to give wealth to the praisers.

Stanza 4.32.9

अ॒भि त्वा॒ गोत॑मा गि॒रानू॑षत॒ प्र दा॒वने॑ | इन्द्र॒ वाजा॑य॒ घृष्व॑ये ||

abhí tvā gótamā girā́nūṣata prá dāváne índra vā́jāya ghŕ̥ṣvaye

O Indra, the Gotamas sing to you with praise, ready to give for strength and vigorous effort.

Stanza 4.32.10

प्र ते॑ वोचाम वी॒र्या॒३॒॑ या म॑न्दसा॒न आरु॑जः | पुरो॒ दासी॑र॒भीत्य॑ ||

prá te vocāma vīryāā̀ yā́ mandasāná ā́rujaḥ púro dā́sīr abhī́tya

We will declare your heroic deeds, O Indra, what forts you destroyed while exhilarated, attacking the Dasa fortresses.

Stanza 4.32.11

ता ते॑ गृणन्ति वे॒धसो॒ यानि॑ च॒कर्थ॒ पौंस्या॑ | सु॒तेष्वि॑न्द्र गिर्वणः ||

tā́ te gr̥ṇanti vedháso yā́ni cakártha paúṁsyā sutéṣv indra girvaṇaḥ

O Indra, praised one, the sages sing of your mighty deeds which you performed when the Soma was pressed.

Stanza 4.32.12

अवी॑वृधन्त॒ गोत॑मा॒ इन्द्र॒ त्वे स्तोम॑वाहसः | ऐषु॑ धा वी॒रव॒द्यशः॑ ||

ávīvr̥dhanta gótamā índra tvé stómavāhasaḥ aíṣu dhā vīrávad yáśaḥ

O Indra, the Gotamas who bring you praises have been strengthened by you. Grant them heroic renown.

Stanza 4.32.13

यच्चि॒द्धि शश्व॑ता॒मसीन्द्र॒ साधा॑रण॒स्त्वम् | तं त्वा॑ व॒यं ह॑वामहे ||

yác cid dhí śáśvatām ásī́ndra sā́dhāraṇas tvám táṁ tvā vayáṁ havāmahe

For indeed, O Indra, you are the common treasure of all. Therefore, we invoke you.

Stanza 4.32.14

अ॒र्वा॒ची॒नो व॑सो भवा॒स्मे सु म॒त्स्वान्ध॑सः | सोमा॑नामिन्द्र सोमपाः ||

arvācīnó vaso bhavāsmé sú matsvā́ndhasaḥ sómānām indra somapāḥ

O treasure-giver, Indra, turn to us, rejoice with us with the Soma juice.

Stanza 4.32.15

अ॒स्माकं॑ त्वा मती॒नामा स्तोम॑ इन्द्र यच्छतु | अ॒र्वागा व॑र्तया॒ हरी॑ ||

asmā́kaṁ tvā matīnā́m ā́ stóma indra yachatu arvā́g ā́ vartayā hárī

May our praise, O Indra, directed towards you, bring you to us. Turn your two horses here.

Stanza 4.32.16

पु॒रो॒ळाशं॑ च नो॒ घसो॑ जो॒षया॑से॒ गिर॑श्च नः | व॒धू॒युरि॑व॒ योष॑णाम् ||

puroḷā́śaṁ ca no gháso joṣáyāse gíraś ca naḥ vadhūyúr iva yóṣaṇām

Enjoy our sacrificial cake and our songs, O Indra, as a lover rejoices in his bride.

Stanza 4.32.17

स॒हस्रं॒ व्यती॑नां यु॒क्ताना॒मिन्द्र॑मीमहे | श॒तं सोम॑स्य खा॒र्यः॑ ||

sahásraṁ vyátīnāṁ yuktā́nām índram īmahe śatáṁ sómasya khāryàḥ

O Indra, we ask for a thousand trained steeds and a hundred jars of Soma juice.

Stanza 4.32.18

स॒हस्रा॑ ते श॒ता व॒यं गवा॒मा च्या॑वयामसि | अ॒स्म॒त्रा राध॑ एतु ते ||

sahásrā te śatā́ vayáṁ gávām ā́ cyāvayāmasi asmatrā́ rā́dha etu te

We have secured a hundred and a thousand of your cows; may your bounty come to us.

Stanza 4.32.19

दश॑ ते क॒लशा॑नां॒ हिर॑ण्यानामधीमहि | भू॒रि॒दा अ॑सि वृत्रहन् ||

dáśa te kaláśānāṁ híraṇyānām adhīmahi bhūridā́ asi vr̥trahan

We have obtained ten golden vessels from you, O Vritra-slayer, generous giver; you are.

Stanza 4.32.20

भूरि॑दा॒ भूरि॑ देहि नो॒ मा द॒भ्रं भूर्या भ॑र | भूरि॒ घेदि॑न्द्र दित्ससि ||

bhū́ridā bhū́ri dehi no mā́ dabhrám bhū́ry ā́ bhara bhū́ri ghéd indra ditsasi

O bountiful giver, give us much; bring us much, not a little. O Indra, you are eager to give.

Stanza 4.32.21

भू॒रि॒दा ह्यसि॑ श्रु॒तः पु॑रु॒त्रा शू॑र वृत्रहन् | आ नो॑ भजस्व॒ राध॑सि ||

bhūridā́ hy ási śrutáḥ purutrā́ śūra vr̥trahan ā́ no bhajasva rā́dhasi

Indeed, O hero Vritra-slayer, you are widely known as a bountiful giver; share your bounty with us.

Stanza 4.32.22

प्र ते॑ ब॒भ्रू वि॑चक्षण॒ शंसा॑मि गोषणो नपात् | माभ्यां॒ गा अनु॑ शिश्रथः ||

prá te babhrū́ vicakṣaṇa śáṁsāmi goṣaṇo napāt mā́bhyāṁ gā́ ánu śiśrathaḥ

O wise Indra, son of the giver of cows, I praise your two tawny horses; do not frighten the cows with them.

Stanza 4.32.23

क॒नी॒न॒केव॑ विद्र॒धे नवे॑ द्रुप॒दे अ॑र्भ॒के | ब॒भ्रू यामे॑षु शोभेते ||

kanīnakéva vidradhé náve drupadé arbhaké babhrū́ yā́meṣu śobhete

Like young girls in their adornment, or like images, the two tawny horses shine in their course, firm on the new post.

Stanza 4.32.24

अरं॑ म उ॒स्रया॒म्णेऽर॒मनु॑स्रयाम्णे | ब॒भ्रू यामे॑ष्व॒स्रिधा॑ ||

áram ma usráyāmṇé 'ram ánusrayāmṇe babhrū́ yā́meṣv asrídhā

The tawny horses are ready for me for the journey, at the dawn, and they are harmless in their movements.
