I send forth my speech as a message to the Rbhus, and I desire the shining cow. Those who, moved by the wind and by their own swiftness, have become accomplished beings, have in an instant pervaded the sky.

Stanza 4.33.2

When the Rbhus, with their skills and adornments, acted skillfully for their parents, they then approached the friendship of the gods, and with their powers, they brought sustenance.

Stanza 4.33.3

Those who, making their parents young again, and who, lying like decaying posts, made them eternal, may Vaja, Vibhvan, and Rbhu, along with Indra, the drinkers of Soma, protect our sacrifice.

Stanza 4.33.4

For a year, the Rbhus protected the cow; for a year, they fashioned her body; and for a year, they maintained her radiance. With these accomplishments, they attained immortality.

Stanza 4.33.5

jyeṣṭhá āha camasā́ dvā́ karéti kánīyān trī́n kr̥ṇavāméty āha kaniṣṭhá āha catúras karéti tváṣṭa r̥bhavas tát panayad váco vaḥ

The eldest said, 'Let us make two drinking cups.' The middle one said, 'Let us make three.' The youngest said, 'Let us make four.' Tvashtar approved that word of yours, O Rbhus.

Stanza 4.33.6

The men spoke the truth, and indeed they acted so. The Rbhus followed that path of action. And Tvashtar, seeing the four cups shining like the day, was envious.

Stanza 4.33.7

For twelve days, when the Rbhus, as guests of the unhinderable one, rejoiced, they made fertile lands, they led the rivers, they caused plants to grow on dry ground, and filled the low places with waters.

Stanza 4.33.8

May those who made the swift chariot, supreme among heroes, and the cow, all-moving and all-formed, may they, the Rbhus, the powerful, the good-handed, shape wealth for us.

Stanza 4.33.9

ápo hy èṣām ájuṣanta devā́ abhí krátvā mánasā dī́dhyānāḥ vā́jo devā́nām abhavat sukárméndrasya r̥bhukṣā́ váruṇasya víbhvā

The gods indeed enjoyed their work, pondering it with thought and mind. Vaja became the gods' efficient craftsman, Rbhukshan of Indra, and Vibhvan of Varuna.

Stanza 4.33.10

yé hárī medháyokthā́ mádanta índrāya cakrúḥ suyújā yé áśvā té rāyás póṣaṁ dráviṇāny asmé dhattá r̥bhavaḥ kṣemayánto ná mitrám

Those who, making the two horses joyful with offerings and hymns, harnessed them for Indra, may those Rbhus, excellent in skill and power, grant us riches and abundance.

Stanza 4.33.11

idā́hnaḥ pītím utá vo mádaṁ dhur ná r̥té śrāntásya sakhyā́ya devā́ḥ té nūnám asmé r̥bhavo vásūni tr̥tī́ye asmín sávane dadhāta

Indeed, this day they have offered you drink and delight. The gods do not favor one who is tired without companionship. Therefore, O Rbhus, you who are mighty, now grant us treasures at this third libation.
