Stanza 4.31.1

कया॑ नश्चि॒त्र आ भु॑वदू॒ती स॒दावृ॑धः॒ सखा॑ | कया॒ शचि॑ष्ठया वृ॒ता ||

káyā naś citrá ā́ bhuvad ūtī́ sadā́vr̥dhaḥ sákhā káyā śáciṣṭhayā vr̥tā́

With what aid, O wonderful, ever-growing Friend, will you come to us? With what most powerful support?

Stanza 4.31.2

कस्त्वा॑ स॒त्यो मदा॑नां॒ मंहि॑ष्ठो मत्स॒दन्ध॑सः | दृ॒ळ्हा चि॑दा॒रुजे॒ वसु॑ ||

kás tvā satyó mádānām máṁhiṣṭho matsad ándhasaḥ dr̥ḷhā́ cid ārúje vásu

What genuine and most generous draught will stir you to break open even strongly guarded wealth?

Stanza 4.31.3

अ॒भी षु णः॒ सखी॑नामवि॒ता ज॑रितॄ॒णाम् | श॒तं भ॑वास्यू॒तिभिः॑ ||

abhī́ ṣú ṇaḥ sákhīnām avitā́ jaritr̥r̥ṇā́m śatám bhavāsy ūtíbhiḥ

Approach us, O protector of those who praise you, with a hundred aids, O friend.

Stanza 4.31.4

अ॒भी न॒ आ व॑वृत्स्व च॒क्रं न वृ॒त्तमर्व॑तः | नि॒युद्भि॑श्चर्षणी॒नाम् ||

abhī́ na ā́ vavr̥tsva cakráṁ ná vr̥ttám árvataḥ niyúdbhiś carṣaṇīnā́m

Turn towards us like the wheel of a swift horse, not stationary, but with the arrangements of people.

Stanza 4.31.5

प्र॒वता॒ हि क्रतू॑ना॒मा हा॑ प॒देव॒ गच्छ॑सि | अभ॑क्षि॒ सूर्ये॒ सचा॑ ||

pravátā hí krátūnām ā́ hā padéva gáchasi ábhakṣi sū́rye sácā

You go naturally with the descent of powers, as if with a step, sharing even in the sun.

Stanza 4.31.6

सं यत्त॑ इन्द्र म॒न्यवः॒ सं च॒क्राणि॑ दधन्वि॒रे | अध॒ त्वे अध॒ सूर्ये॑ ||

sáṁ yát ta indra manyávaḥ sáṁ cakrā́ṇi dadhanviré ádha tvé ádha sū́rye

When, Indra, your intentions and wheels move together, they are established with you and with the sun.

Stanza 4.31.7

उ॒त स्मा॒ हि त्वामा॒हुरिन्म॒घवा॑नं शचीपते | दाता॑र॒मवि॑दीधयुम् ||

utá smā hí tvā́m āhúr ín maghávānaṁ śacīpate dā́tāram ávidīdhayum

Indeed, people call you 'Maghavan' (the wealthy one), O Lord of Strength, a giver who does not pause.

Stanza 4.31.8

उ॒त स्मा॑ स॒द्य इत्परि॑ शशमा॒नाय॑ सुन्व॒ते | पु॒रू चि॑न्मंहसे॒ वसु॑ ||

utá smā sadyá ít pári śaśamānā́ya sunvaté purū́ cin maṁhase vásu

And indeed, for the one who diligently presses Soma, you quickly grant much wealth.

Stanza 4.31.9

न॒हि ष्मा॑ ते श॒तं च॒न राधो॒ वर॑न्त आ॒मुरः॑ | न च्यौ॒त्नानि॑ करिष्य॒तः ||

nahí ṣmā te śatáṁ caná rā́dho váranta āmúraḥ ná cyautnā́ni kariṣyatáḥ

No, not even a hundred hinderers can prevent your gift from flowing, nor your great deeds when you will act.

Stanza 4.31.10

अ॒स्माँ अ॑वन्तु ते श॒तम॒स्मान्त्स॒हस्र॑मू॒तयः॑ | अ॒स्मान्विश्वा॑ अ॒भिष्ट॑यः ||

asmā́m̐ avantu te śatám asmā́n sahásram ūtáyaḥ asmā́n víśvā abhíṣṭayaḥ

May your hundred aids protect us, may your thousand aids protect us, may all your helps protect us.

Stanza 4.31.11

अ॒स्माँ इ॒हा वृ॑णीष्व स॒ख्याय॑ स्व॒स्तये॑ | म॒हो रा॒ये दि॒वित्म॑ते ||

asmā́m̐ ihā́ vr̥ṇīṣva sakhyā́ya svastáye mahó rāyé divítmate

Choose us here for friendship and well-being, and for great divine wealth.

Stanza 4.31.12

अ॒स्माँ अ॑विड्ढि वि॒श्वहेन्द्र॑ रा॒या परी॑णसा | अ॒स्मान्विश्वा॑भिरू॒तिभिः॑ ||

asmā́m̐ aviḍḍhi viśváhéndra rāyā́ párīṇasā asmā́n víśvābhir ūtíbhiḥ

Favor us always, Indra, with overflowing wealth; protect us with all your aids.

Stanza 4.31.13

अ॒स्मभ्यं॒ ताँ अपा॑ वृधि व्र॒जाँ अस्ते॑व॒ गोम॑तः | नवा॑भिरिन्द्रो॒तिभिः॑ ||

asmábhyaṁ tā́m̐ ápā vr̥dhi vrajā́m̐ ásteva gómataḥ návābhir indrotíbhiḥ

Open for us, Indra, those stables like an archer's, full of cattle, with new aids.

Stanza 4.31.14

अ॒स्माकं॑ धृष्णु॒या रथो॑ द्यु॒माँ इ॒न्द्रान॑पच्युतः | ग॒व्युर॑श्व॒युरी॑यते ||

asmā́kaṁ dhr̥ṣṇuyā́ rátho dyumā́m̐ indrā́napacyutaḥ gavyúr aśvayúr īyate

Our splendid chariot, Indra, moves forward boldly, never repulsed, winning kine and steeds.

Stanza 4.31.15

अ॒स्माक॑मुत्त॒मं कृ॑धि॒ श्रवो॑ दे॒वेषु॑ सूर्य | वर्षि॑ष्ठं॒ द्यामि॑वो॒परि॑ ||

asmā́kam uttamáṁ kr̥dhi śrávo devéṣu sūrya várṣiṣṭhaṁ dyā́m ivopári

Make our fame, Sun, the highest among the gods, like the sky above.
