Stanza 3.57.1

प्र मे॑ विवि॒क्वाँ अ॑विदन्मनी॒षां धे॒नुं चर॑न्तीं॒ प्रयु॑ता॒मगो॑पाम् | स॒द्यश्चि॒द्या दु॑दु॒हे भूरि॑ धा॒सेरिन्द्र॒स्तद॒ग्निः प॑नि॒तारो॑ अस्याः ||

prá me vivikvā́m̐ avidan manīṣā́ṁ dhenúṁ cárantīm práyutām ágopām sadyáś cid yā́ duduhé bhū́ri dhāsér índras tád agníḥ panitā́ro asyāḥ

My insightful mind has found this freely wandering cow, unguarded and providing so much! It has instantly given me abundant food. Indra and Agni are the ones who sing its praises.

Stanza 3.57.2

इन्द्रः॒ सु पू॒षा वृष॑णा सु॒हस्ता॑ दि॒वो न प्री॒ताः श॑श॒यं दु॑दुह्रे | विश्वे॒ यद॑स्यां र॒णय॑न्त दे॒वाः प्र वोऽत्र॑ वसवः सु॒म्नम॑श्याम् ||

índraḥ sú pūṣā́ vŕ̥ṣaṇā suhástā divó ná prītā́ḥ śaśayáṁ duduhre víśve yád asyāṁ raṇáyanta devā́ḥ prá vó 'tra vasavaḥ sumnám aśyām

Mighty Indra and Pushan, with skillful hands, have milked the limitless udder of the sky, as if pleased. When all the gods celebrated this, may I, O Vasus, obtain good fortune here for myself.

Stanza 3.57.3

या जा॒मयो॒ वृष्ण॑ इ॒च्छन्ति॑ श॒क्तिं न॑म॒स्यन्ती॑र्जानते॒ गर्भ॑मस्मिन् | अच्छा॑ पु॒त्रं धे॒नवो॑ वावशा॒ना म॒हश्च॑रन्ति॒ बिभ्र॑तं॒ वपूं॑षि ||

yā́ jāmáyo vŕ̥ṣṇa ichánti śaktíṁ namasyántīr jānate gárbham asmin áchā putráṁ dhenávo vāvaśānā́ maháś caranti bíbhrataṁ vápūṁṣi

The sisters, desiring the bull's strength, reverently recognize the potential within him. The lowing cows come towards this young one, who carries great and beautiful forms.

Stanza 3.57.4

अच्छा॑ विवक्मि॒ रोद॑सी सु॒मेके॒ ग्राव्णो॑ युजा॒नो अ॑ध्व॒रे म॑नी॒षा | इ॒मा उ॑ ते॒ मन॑वे॒ भूरि॑वारा ऊ॒र्ध्वा भ॑वन्ति दर्श॒ता यज॑त्राः ||

áchā vivakmi ródasī suméke grā́vṇo yujānó adhvaré manīṣā́ imā́ u te mánave bhū́rivārā ūrdhvā́ bhavanti darśatā́ yájatrāḥ

With my thoughts and mind, I call upon the excellent Heaven and Earth during the sacrifice, along with the pressing stones. These divine energies, which offer much protection to humankind, become elevated, visible, and worthy of worship.

Stanza 3.57.5

या ते॑ जि॒ह्वा मधु॑मती सुमे॒धा अग्ने॑ दे॒वेषू॒च्यत॑ उरू॒ची | तये॒ह विश्वाँ॒ अव॑से॒ यज॑त्रा॒ना सा॑दय पा॒यया॑ चा॒ मधू॑नि ||

yā́ te jihvā́ mádhumatī sumedhā́ ágne devéṣūcyáta urūcī́ táyehá víśvām̐ ávase yájatrān ā́ sādaya pāyáyā cā mádhūni

O Agni, your wise and nectar-sweet tongue, which is famous among the gods, with that tongue, bring all the worshipful ones here for our protection, and feed them with sweet juices.

Stanza 3.57.6

या ते॑ अग्ने॒ पर्व॑तस्येव॒ धारास॑श्चन्ती पी॒पय॑द्देव चि॒त्रा | ताम॒स्मभ्यं॒ प्रम॑तिं जातवेदो॒ वसो॒ रास्व॑ सुम॒तिं वि॒श्वज॑न्याम् ||

yā́ te agne párvatasyeva dhā́rā́saścantī pīpáyad deva citrā́ tā́m asmábhyam prámatiṁ jātavedo váso rā́sva sumatíṁ viśvájanyām

O Agni, let your stream, like a mountain's flow, be wondrous and life-giving. Therefore, O Vasu Jātavedas, grant us wise protection and universal goodwill.
