Stanza 10.80.1

अ॒ग्निः सप्तिं॑ वाजम्भ॒रं द॑दात्य॒ग्निर्वी॒रं श्रुत्यं॑ कर्मनिः॒ष्ठाम् | अ॒ग्नी रोद॑सी॒ वि च॑रत्सम॒ञ्जन्न॒ग्निर्नारीं॑ वी॒रकु॑क्षिं॒ पुरं॑धिम् ||

agníḥ sáptiṁ vājambharáṁ dadāty agnír vīráṁ śrútyaṁ karmaniṣṭhā́m agnī́ ródasī ví carat samañjánn agnír nā́rīṁ vīrákukṣim púraṁdhim

Agni bestows the swift prize-winning horse, Agni the renowned hero firm in duty. Agni pervades and adorns the earth and heaven, and Agni, the protector of women, the bearer of heroic children.

Stanza 10.80.2

अ॒ग्नेरप्न॑सः स॒मिद॑स्तु भ॒द्राग्निर्म॒ही रोद॑सी॒ आ वि॑वेश | अ॒ग्निरेकं॑ चोदयत्स॒मत्स्व॒ग्निर्वृ॒त्राणि॑ दयते पु॒रूणि॑ ||

agnér ápnasaḥ samíd astu bhadrā́gnír mahī́ ródasī ā́ viveśa agnír ékaṁ codayat samátsv agnír vr̥trā́ṇi dayate purū́ṇi

May the auspicious fuel be for Agni. Agni has entered the great earth and sky. Agni inspires one man in battles; Agni destroys many Vritras (obstacles/enemies).

Stanza 10.80.3

अ॒ग्निर्ह॒ त्यं जर॑तः॒ कर्ण॑मावा॒ग्निर॒द्भ्यो निर॑दह॒ज्जरू॑थम् | अ॒ग्निरत्रिं॑ घ॒र्म उ॑रुष्यद॒न्तर॒ग्निर्नृ॒मेधं॑ प्र॒जया॑सृज॒त्सम् ||

agnír ha tyáṁ járataḥ kárṇam āvāgnír adbhyó nír adahaj járūtham agnír átriṁ gharmá uruṣyad antár agnír nr̥médham prajáyāsr̥jat sám

Agni gladdened the chariot of the praiser, and from the waters he burned away Jarutha. Agni protected Atri in the hot place; Agni generated Nr̥imedha with offspring.

Stanza 10.80.4

अ॒ग्निर्दा॒द्द्रवि॑णं वी॒रपे॑शा अ॒ग्निर्ऋषिं॒ यः स॒हस्रा॑ स॒नोति॑ | अ॒ग्निर्दि॒वि ह॒व्यमा त॑ताना॒ग्नेर्धामा॑नि॒ विभृ॑ता पुरु॒त्रा ||

agnír dād dráviṇaṁ vīrápeśā agnír ŕ̥ṣiṁ yáḥ sahásrā sanóti agnír diví havyám ā́ tatānāgnér dhā́māni víbhr̥tā purutrā́

Agni gave wealth that adorns the hero; Agni gives the Rishi who wins a thousand cows. Agni stretched the offering to the sky; Agni's ordinances are upheld everywhere.

Stanza 10.80.5

अ॒ग्निमु॒क्थैर्ऋष॑यो॒ वि ह्व॑यन्ते॒ऽग्निं नरो॒ याम॑नि बाधि॒तासः॑ | अ॒ग्निं वयो॑ अ॒न्तरि॑क्षे॒ पत॑न्तो॒ऽग्निः स॒हस्रा॒ परि॑ याति॒ गोना॑म् ||

agním ukthaír ŕ̥ṣayo ví hvayante 'gníṁ náro yā́mani bādhitā́saḥ agníṁ váyo antárikṣe pátanto 'gníḥ sahásrā pári yāti gónām

The sages call Agni with hymns; the men, defeated in battle, call upon Agni. The birds flying in the sky call upon Agni; Agni moves around the thousands of cows.

Stanza 10.80.6

अ॒ग्निं विश॑ ईळते॒ मानु॑षी॒र्या अ॒ग्निं मनु॑षो॒ नहु॑षो॒ वि जा॒ताः | अ॒ग्निर्गान्ध॑र्वीं प॒थ्या॑मृ॒तस्या॒ग्नेर्गव्यू॑तिर्घृ॒त आ निष॑त्ता ||

agníṁ víśa īḷate mā́nuṣīr yā́ agním mánuṣo náhuṣo ví jātā́ḥ agnír gā́ndharvīm pathyāā̀m r̥tásyāgnér gávyūtir ghr̥tá ā́ níṣattā

The human communities worship Agni; the men descended from Nahusha know Agni. Agni's pasture, on the path of Rta, is established in ghee.

Stanza 10.80.7

अ॒ग्नये॒ ब्रह्म॑ ऋ॒भव॑स्ततक्षुर॒ग्निं म॒हाम॑वोचामा सुवृ॒क्तिम् | अग्ने॒ प्राव॑ जरि॒तारं॑ यवि॒ष्ठाग्ने॒ महि॒ द्रवि॑ण॒मा य॑जस्व ||

agnáye bráhma r̥bhávas tatakṣur agním mahā́m avocāmā suvr̥ktím ágne prā́va jaritā́raṁ yaviṣṭhā́gne máhi dráviṇam ā́ yajasva

The Ribhus fashioned prayer for Agni; we have praised the great Agni with hymns. Agni, most youthful, protect the singer; Agni, win great wealth through sacrifice.
