O God, worship the gods in heaven yourself. What can an ignorant, foolish person do for you? Just as you have worshipped the gods according to the seasons, O God, worship yourself, O well-born one.
The hymn instructs Agni to perform his own worship of the gods in the heavens, questioning the utility of a foolish, ignorant person's actions. It advises Agni to worship the gods in the same manner and according to the seasons as he himself has done, and to also offer worship to his own self.
