अ॒भ्र॒प्रुषो॒ न वा॒चा प्रु॑षा॒ वसु॑ ह॒विष्म॑न्तो॒ न य॒ज्ञा वि॑जा॒नुषः॑ | सु॒मारु॑तं॒ न ब्र॒ह्माण॑म॒र्हसे॑ ग॒णम॑स्तोष्येषां॒ न शो॒भसे॑ ||
abhraprúṣo ná vācā́ pruṣā vásu havíṣmanto ná yajñā́ vijānúṣaḥ sumā́rutaṁ ná brahmā́ṇam arháse gaṇám astoṣy eṣāṁ ná śobháse
Like rain showering wealth from clouds, and like sacrifices rich in offerings, I, with my voice, desire to sprinkle forth wealth. I have praised this glorious company of the Maruts, so that they may be worthy of praise and may shine forth.

For beauty, these youths have adorned themselves with brilliant ornaments. The glorious company of the Maruts moved onward through many nights. Like stags, the sons of Dyus exerted themselves; they, the Adityas, grew strong like pillars.

When you approach, even the deep earth, like waters, seems to shake and loosen. This perfect sacrifice approaches you; come together, O Maruts, rich in sustenance.

When you, O Maruts, come from afar, bringing the great wealth of the hidden place, and you Vasus, knowing the boons to be granted, then drive away from afar all those who hate us.

A person who diligently performs sacrifices and offers gifts to the Maruts is promised a prosperous life filled with wealth and strong offspring. Such a devotee will also be protected and accepted by the gods.
