Like rain showering wealth from clouds, and like sacrifices rich in offerings, I, with my voice, desire to sprinkle forth wealth. I have praised this glorious company of the Maruts, so that they may be worthy of praise and may shine forth.

For beauty, these youths have adorned themselves with brilliant ornaments. The glorious company of the Maruts moved onward through many nights. Like stags, the sons of Dyus exerted themselves; they, the Adityas, grew strong like pillars.

They have expanded beyond heaven and earth by their own might, like the sun emerging from the clouds. Like heroes eager for praise, they are powerful, and like warriors destroying foes, they shine forth.

When you approach, even the deep earth, like waters, seems to shake and loosen. This perfect sacrifice approaches you; come together, O Maruts, rich in sustenance.

You are like horses harnessed to the pole, radiant with light, bright at dawn. Like self-glorious falcons, destroyers of foes, you are like swiftly moving birds scattering rain.

When you, O Maruts, come from afar, bringing the great wealth of the hidden place, and you Vasus, knowing the boons to be granted, then drive away from afar all those who hate us.

For they are the divine beings to be worshipped in sacrifices, most auspicious by their name of Adityas. May they, swift in their chariots, protect our prayer and thought, delighting in our ritual.
