यद्वो॑ देवाश्चकृ॒म जि॒ह्वया॑ गु॒रु मन॑सो वा॒ प्रयु॑ती देव॒हेळ॑नम् | अरा॑वा॒ यो नो॑ अ॒भि दु॑च्छुना॒यते॒ तस्मि॒न्तदेनो॑ वसवो॒ नि धे॑तन ||
yád vo devāś cakr̥má jihváyā gurú mánaso vā práyutī devahéḷanam árāvā yó no abhí duchunāyáte tásmin tád éno vasavo ní dhetana
If we have offended you gods with our tongue or thought, O Vasus, place that guilt on the wicked person who leads us into misfortune.
The devotees acknowledge any unintentional offense committed against the gods through speech or thought. They pray to the Vasus (a class of deities) to transfer such guilt to the wrongdoer, specifically to one who leads them into distress, thus purifying themselves from the error.
