Stanza 10.35.1

अबु॑ध्रमु॒ त्य इन्द्र॑वन्तो अ॒ग्नयो॒ ज्योति॒र्भर॑न्त उ॒षसो॒ व्यु॑ष्टिषु | म॒ही द्यावा॑पृथि॒वी चे॑तता॒मपो॒ऽद्या दे॒वाना॒मव॒ आ वृ॑णीमहे ||

ábudhram u tyá índravanto agnáyo jyótir bháranta uṣáso vyùṣṭiṣu mahī́ dyā́vāpr̥thivī́ cetatām ápo 'dyā́ devā́nām áva ā́ vr̥ṇīmahe

These dawn fires, accompanied by Indra, are awake, bringing light as the dawn breaks. May the great Earth and Sky be aware of us. Today, we seek the protection and favor of the gods.

Stanza 10.35.2

दि॒वस्पृ॑थि॒व्योरव॒ आ वृ॑णीमहे मा॒तॄन्त्सिन्धू॒न्पर्व॑ताञ्छर्य॒णाव॑तः | अ॒ना॒गा॒स्त्वं सूर्य॑मु॒षास॑मीमहे भ॒द्रं सोमः॑ सुवा॒नो अ॒द्या कृ॑णोतु नः ||

diváspr̥thivyór áva ā́ vr̥ṇīmahe mātr̥ŕ̥n síndhūn párvatāñ charyaṇā́vataḥ anāgāstváṁ sū́ryam uṣā́sam īmahe bhadráṁ sómaḥ suvānó adyā́ kr̥ṇotu naḥ

We seek the favor of Sky and Earth, of rivers, mountains, and those who possess flowing water. We ask for protection from sin from the Sun and Dawn. May the prepared Soma bring us good fortune today.

Stanza 10.35.3

द्यावा॑ नो अ॒द्य पृ॑थि॒वी अना॑गसो म॒ही त्रा॑येतां सुवि॒ताय॑ मा॒तरा॑ | उ॒षा उ॒च्छन्त्यप॑ बाधताम॒घं स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ||

dyā́vā no adyá pr̥thivī́ ánāgaso mahī́ trāyetāṁ suvitā́ya mātárā uṣā́ uchánty ápa bādhatām agháṁ svasty àgníṁ samidhānám īmahe

May Heaven and Earth, our great Mothers, protect us today from sin for our well-being. May the rising Dawn drive away misfortune. We seek from the kindled Agni a blessing for well-being.

Stanza 10.35.4

इ॒यं न॑ उ॒स्रा प्र॑थ॒मा सु॑दे॒व्यं॑ रे॒वत्स॒निभ्यो॑ रे॒वती॒ व्यु॑च्छतु | आ॒रे म॒न्युं दु॑र्वि॒दत्र॑स्य धीमहि स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ||

iyáṁ na usrā́ prathamā́ sudevyàṁ revát saníbhyo revátī vy ùchatu āré manyúṁ durvidátrasya dhīmahi svasty àgníṁ samidhānám īmahe

May this first Dawn, rich with divine favor, shine upon us. May she bring us abundance. May we keep the malice of the wicked far away. We seek well-being from the kindled Agni.

Stanza 10.35.5

प्र याः सिस्र॑ते॒ सूर्य॑स्य र॒श्मिभि॒र्ज्योति॒र्भर॑न्तीरु॒षसो॒ व्यु॑ष्टिषु | भ॒द्रा नो॑ अ॒द्य श्रव॑से॒ व्यु॑च्छत स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ||

prá yā́ḥ sísrate sū́ryasya raśmíbhir jyótir bhárantīr uṣáso vyùṣṭiṣu bhadrā́ no adyá śrávase vy ùchata svasty àgníṁ samidhānám īmahe

May those Dawns that move with the Sun's rays, bringing light at dawn, shine auspiciously for us today, for our renown. We seek well-being from the kindled Agni.

Stanza 10.35.6

अ॒न॒मी॒वा उ॒षस॒ आ च॑रन्तु न॒ उद॒ग्नयो॑ जिहतां॒ ज्योति॑षा बृ॒हत् | आयु॑क्षाताम॒श्विना॒ तूतु॑जिं॒ रथं॑ स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ||

anamīvā́ uṣása ā́ carantu na úd agnáyo jihatāṁ jyótiṣā br̥hát ā́yukṣātām aśvínā tū́tujiṁ ráthaṁ svasty àgníṁ samidhānám īmahe

May the healthy Dawns come to us. May the fires rise with great brilliance. The Ashvin twins have yoked their swift chariot. We seek well-being from the kindled Agni.

Stanza 10.35.7

श्रेष्ठं॑ नो अ॒द्य स॑वित॒र्वरे॑ण्यं भा॒गमा सु॑व॒ स हि र॑त्न॒धा असि॑ | रा॒यो जनि॑त्रीं धि॒षणा॒मुप॑ ब्रुवे स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ||

śréṣṭhaṁ no adyá savitar váreṇyam bhāgám ā́ suva sá hí ratnadhā́ ási rāyó jánitrīṁ dhiṣáṇām úpa bruve svasty àgníṁ samidhānám īmahe

O Savitar, today grant us a most excellent share of wealth, for you are the giver of riches. We invoke Dhishana, the mother of abundance. We seek well-being from the kindled Agni.

Stanza 10.35.8

पिप॑र्तु मा॒ तदृ॒तस्य॑ प्र॒वाच॑नं दे॒वानां॒ यन्म॑नु॒ष्या॒३॒॑ अम॑न्महि | विश्वा॒ इदु॒स्राः स्पळुदे॑ति॒ सूर्यः॑ स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ||

pípartu mā tád r̥tásya pravā́canaṁ devā́nāṁ yán manuṣyāā̀ ámanmahi víśvā íd usrā́ spáḷ úd eti sū́ryaḥ svasty àgníṁ samidhānám īmahe

May that proclamation of cosmic order, which we mortals understand, sustain me. The Sun rises, shining on all the dawns. We seek well-being from the kindled Agni.

Stanza 10.35.9

अ॒द्वे॒षो अ॒द्य ब॒र्हिषः॒ स्तरी॑मणि॒ ग्राव्णां॒ योगे॒ मन्म॑नः॒ साध॑ ईमहे | आ॒दि॒त्यानां॒ शर्म॑णि॒ स्था भु॑रण्यसि स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ||

adveṣó adyá barhíṣa stárīmaṇi grā́vṇāṁ yóge mánmanaḥ sā́dha īmahe ādityā́nāṁ śármaṇi sthā́ bhuraṇyasi svasty àgníṁ samidhānám īmahe

Today, free from enmity, we prepare the sacred grass, arrange the pressing stones, and perfect our thoughts and hymns. You move restlessly within the protection of the Adityas. We seek well-being from the kindled Agni.

Stanza 10.35.10

आ नो॑ ब॒र्हिः स॑ध॒मादे॑ बृ॒हद्दि॒वि दे॒वाँ ई॑ळे सा॒दया॑ स॒प्त होतॄ॑न् | इन्द्रं॑ मि॒त्रं वरु॑णं सा॒तये॒ भगं॑ स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ||

ā́ no barhíḥ sadhamā́de br̥hád diví devā́m̐ īḷe sādáyā saptá hótr̥r̥n índram mitráṁ váruṇaṁ sātáye bhágaṁ svasty àgníṁ samidhānám īmahe

May the gods come to our great feast on the sacred grass. I invite them to sit as seven priests: Indra, Mitra, Varuna, and Bhaga, for our prosperity. We seek well-being from the kindled Agni.

Stanza 10.35.11

त आ॑दित्या॒ आ ग॑ता स॒र्वता॑तये वृ॒धे नो॑ य॒ज्ञम॑वता सजोषसः | बृह॒स्पतिं॑ पू॒षण॑म॒श्विना॒ भगं॑ स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ||

tá ādityā ā́ gatā sarvátātaye vr̥dhé no yajñám avatā sajoṣasaḥ bŕ̥haspátim pūṣáṇam aśvínā bhágaṁ svasty àgníṁ samidhānám īmahe

O Adityas, come for our complete well-being. Help our sacrifice to grow. O you who are in accord, invoke Brihaspati, Pushan, the Ashvins, and Bhaga. We seek well-being from the kindled Agni.

Stanza 10.35.12

तन्नो॑ देवा यच्छत सुप्रवाच॒नं छ॒र्दिरा॑दित्याः सु॒भरं॑ नृ॒पाय्य॑म् | पश्वे॑ तो॒काय॒ तन॑याय जी॒वसे॑ स्व॒स्त्य१॒॑ग्निं स॑मिधा॒नमी॑महे ||

tán no devā yachata supravācanáṁ chardír ādityāḥ subháraṁ nr̥pā́yyam páśve tokā́ya tánayāya jīváse svasty àgníṁ samidhānám īmahe

O Gods and Adityas, grant that our home be excellent and prosperous, a sure defense for our heroes. Grant this for cattle, for children, for progeny, for life. We seek well-being from the kindled Agni.

Stanza 10.35.13

विश्वे॑ अ॒द्य म॒रुतो॒ विश्व॑ ऊ॒ती विश्वे॑ भवन्त्व॒ग्नयः॒ समि॑द्धाः | विश्वे॑ नो दे॒वा अव॒सा ग॑मन्तु॒ विश्व॑मस्तु॒ द्रवि॑णं॒ वाजो॑ अ॒स्मे ||

víśve adyá marúto víśva ūtī́ víśve bhavantv agnáyaḥ sámiddhāḥ víśve no devā́ ávasā́ gamantu víśvam astu dráviṇaṁ vā́jo asmé

May all the Maruts come with their aid today. May all fires be well-kindled. May all the gods come to us with protection. May abundant wealth and sustenance be ours.

Stanza 10.35.14

यं दे॑वा॒सोऽव॑थ॒ वाज॑सातौ॒ यं त्राय॑ध्वे॒ यं पि॑पृ॒थात्यंहः॑ | यो वो॑ गोपी॒थे न भ॒यस्य॒ वेद॒ ते स्या॑म दे॒ववी॑तये तुरासः ||

yáṁ devāsó 'vatha vā́jasātau yáṁ trā́yadhve yám pipr̥thā́ty áṁhaḥ yó vo gopīthé ná bhayásya véda té syāma devávītaye turāsaḥ

He whom you gods help in battle, whom you protect and save from trouble, who fears no danger under your guardianship - may we be such, O mighty ones, to receive your favor.
