With what desire does Sarama approach? The path is indeed far and leads to remote places. What message do you bring us? What is your purpose for travelling? How did you cross the waters of the Rasā?
The gods, observing the arrival of Sarama, a divine messenger, inquire about her purpose and the reason for her arduous journey. They express curiosity about her mission and how she managed to cross the formidable river Rasā, indicating her long and difficult travel.

Sarama responds by asserting Indra's invincibility, stating she doesn't fully know his power but acknowledges his ability to harm others. She warns the Panis that they cannot hide from him, even from deep rivers, and predicts their defeat and demise at Indra's hands, urging them to lie down as vanquished.

Your words, O Panis, may not be shot with arrows, and your bodies may be invulnerable, and the path to you may be impassable. Nevertheless, Brihaspati will not be merciful to either.
Sarama issues a final warning to the Panis, stating that even if their bodies were impervious to arrows and their words couldn't be pierced, and if the path to them remained unconquered, they would still not be spared. Brihaspati, the divine lord of wisdom and order, will show them no mercy, implying their ultimate doom.

Hither will come the Soma-inspired sages, Ayasya, the Angirases, and the Navagvas. They will divide this stall of cattle. Then the Panis will regret their words.

Go far away, O Panis! Let the lowing cows come forth according to order. Brihaspati, the pressing stones, Soma, and the learned sages found them when hidden.
