Stanza 1.91.1

त्वं सो॑म॒ प्र चि॑कितो मनी॒षा त्वं रजि॑ष्ठ॒मनु॑ नेषि॒ पन्था॑म् | तव॒ प्रणी॑ती पि॒तरो॑ न इन्दो दे॒वेषु॒ रत्न॑मभजन्त॒ धीराः॑ ||

tváṁ soma prá cikito manīṣā́ tváṁ rájiṣṭham ánu neṣi pánthām táva práṇītī pitáro na indo devéṣu rátnam abhajanta dhī́rāḥ

Hey Soma, you are the most insightful and wise one. You lead us on the straightest path. Because of your guidance, our wise ancestors were able to distribute wealth and offerings among the gods.

Stanza 1.91.2

त्वं सो॑म॒ क्रतु॑भिः सु॒क्रतु॑र्भू॒स्त्वं दक्षैः॑ सु॒दक्षो॑ वि॒श्ववे॑दाः | त्वं वृषा॑ वृष॒त्वेभि॑र्महि॒त्वा द्यु॒म्नेभि॑र्द्यु॒म्न्य॑भवो नृ॒चक्षाः॑ ||

tváṁ soma krátubhiḥ sukrátur bhūs tváṁ dákṣaiḥ sudákṣo viśvávedāḥ tváṁ vŕ̥ṣā vr̥ṣatvébhir mahitvā́ dyumnébhir dyumny àbhavo nr̥cákṣāḥ

Hey Soma, you became wise through your wisdom, strong through your strengths, and all-knowing. You are powerful with your might, magnificent with your greatness, and glorious with your splendors. You are the one who sees humans.

Stanza 1.91.3

राज्ञो॒ नु ते॒ वरु॑णस्य व्र॒तानि॑ बृ॒हद्ग॑भी॒रं तव॑ सोम॒ धाम॑ | शुचि॒ष्ट्वम॑सि प्रि॒यो न मि॒त्रो द॒क्षाय्यो॑ अर्य॒मेवा॑सि सोम ||

rā́jño nú te váruṇasya vratā́ni br̥hád gabhīráṁ táva soma dhā́ma śúciṣ ṭvám asi priyó ná mitró dakṣā́yyo aryamévāsi soma

Now, Soma, we recognize your adherence to King Varuna's laws. Your glory is immense and deep. You are pure like Mitra, and you are adorable and worthy like Aryaman.

Stanza 1.91.4

या ते॒ धामा॑नि दि॒वि या पृ॑थि॒व्यां या पर्व॑ते॒ष्वोष॑धीष्व॒प्सु | तेभि॑र्नो॒ विश्वैः॑ सु॒मना॒ अहे॑ळ॒न्राज॑न्त्सोम॒ प्रति॑ ह॒व्या गृ॑भाय ||

yā́ te dhā́māni diví yā́ pr̥thivyā́ṁ yā́ párvateṣv óṣadhīṣv apsú tébhir no víśvaiḥ sumánā áheḷan rā́jan soma práti havyā́ gr̥bhāya

Soma, may your glories, which exist in heaven, on earth, in the mountains, in plants, and in waters, be with us. With all of them, please accept our offerings with a joyful heart and without anger.

Stanza 1.91.5

त्वं सो॑मासि॒ सत्प॑ति॒स्त्वं राजो॒त वृ॑त्र॒हा | त्वं भ॒द्रो अ॑सि॒ क्रतुः॑ ||

tváṁ somāsi sátpatis tváṁ rā́jotá vr̥trahā́ tvám bhadró asi krátuḥ

Soma, you are the lord of beings, the king, and the vanquisher of Vritra. You are auspicious and possess great energy.

Stanza 1.91.6

त्वं च॑ सोम नो॒ वशो॑ जी॒वातुं॒ न म॑रामहे | प्रि॒यस्तो॑त्रो॒ वन॒स्पतिः॑ ||

tváṁ ca soma no váśo jīvā́tuṁ ná marāmahe priyástotro vánaspátiḥ

Soma, may it be your will that we live and not die. You are the Lord of plants, and you are pleased by praise.

Stanza 1.91.7

त्वं सो॑म म॒हे भगं॒ त्वं यून॑ ऋताय॒ते | दक्षं॑ दधासि जी॒वसे॑ ||

tváṁ soma mahé bhágaṁ tváṁ yū́na r̥tāyaté dákṣaṁ dadhāsi jīváse

Soma, you give great fortune to the old and strength to the young who follow righteousness. You grant them the power to live.

Stanza 1.91.8

त्वं नः॑ सोम वि॒श्वतो॒ रक्षा॑ राजन्नघाय॒तः | न रि॑ष्ये॒त्त्वाव॑तः॒ सखा॑ ||

tváṁ naḥ soma viśváto rákṣā rājann aghāyatáḥ ná riṣyet tvā́vataḥ sákhā

Soma, our king, protect us from all evil and harm. A friend of yours should never be in danger.

Stanza 1.91.9

सोम॒ यास्ते॑ मयो॒भुव॑ ऊ॒तयः॒ सन्ति॑ दा॒शुषे॑ | ताभि॑र्नोऽवि॒ता भ॑व ||

sóma yā́s te mayobhúva ūtáyaḥ sánti dāśúṣe tā́bhir no 'vitā́ bhava

Soma, with those helpful powers of yours that exist for the worshipper, be our protector.

Stanza 1.91.10

इ॒मं य॒ज्ञमि॒दं वचो॑ जुजुषा॒ण उ॒पाग॑हि | सोम॒ त्वं नो॑ वृ॒धे भ॑व ||

imáṁ yajñám idáṁ váco jujuṣāṇá upā́gahi sóma tváṁ no vr̥dhé bhava

Soma, accepting this sacrifice and these words, come to us. Be present to help us grow and prosper.

Stanza 1.91.11

सोम॑ गी॒र्भिष्ट्वा॑ व॒यं व॒र्धया॑मो वचो॒विदः॑ | सु॒मृ॒ळी॒को न॒ आ वि॑श ||

sóma gīrbhíṣ ṭvā vayáṁ vardháyāmo vacovídaḥ sumr̥ḷīkó na ā́ viśa

Soma, we who are skilled in speech praise you with our songs. Come into us, most gracious one.

Stanza 1.91.12

ग॒य॒स्फानो॑ अमीव॒हा व॑सु॒वित्पु॑ष्टि॒वर्ध॑नः | सु॒मि॒त्रः सो॑म नो भव ||

gayasphā́no amīvahā́ vasuvít puṣṭivárdhanaḥ sumitráḥ soma no bhava

Soma, you enrich us, heal us from sickness, find wealth for us, and promote our prosperity. Be our good friend.

Stanza 1.91.13

सोम॑ रार॒न्धि नो॑ हृ॒दि गावो॒ न यव॑से॒ष्वा | मर्य॑ इव॒ स्व ओ॒क्ये॑ ||

sóma rārandhí no hr̥dí gā́vo ná yávaseṣv ā́ márya iva svá okyè

Soma, be happy in our hearts, just as cows are happy in the pasture, and a young man is happy in his own home.

Stanza 1.91.14

यः सो॑म स॒ख्ये तव॑ रा॒रण॑द्देव॒ मर्त्यः॑ | तं दक्षः॑ सचते क॒विः ||

yáḥ soma sakhyé táva rāráṇad deva mártyaḥ táṁ dákṣaḥ sacate kavíḥ

Soma, O God, the mortal who delights in your friendship, the wise sage will associate with him.

Stanza 1.91.15

उ॒रु॒ष्या णो॑ अ॒भिश॑स्तेः॒ सोम॒ नि पा॒ह्यंह॑सः | सखा॑ सु॒शेव॑ एधि नः ||

uruṣyā́ ṇo abhíśasteḥ sóma ní pāhy áṁhasaḥ sákhā suśéva edhi naḥ

Soma, save us from slander and protect us from evil. Be our kind and gracious friend.

Stanza 1.91.16

आ प्या॑यस्व॒ समे॑तु ते वि॒श्वतः॑ सोम॒ वृष्ण्य॑म् | भवा॒ वाज॑स्य संग॒थे ||

ā́ pyāyasva sám etu te viśvátaḥ soma vŕ̥ṣṇyam bhávā vā́jasya saṁgathé

Soma, grow strong! May all your powers come together from everywhere. Be present in the gathering place of strength.

Stanza 1.91.17

आ प्या॑यस्व मदिन्तम॒ सोम॒ विश्वे॑भिरं॒शुभिः॑ | भवा॑ नः सु॒श्रव॑स्तमः॒ सखा॑ वृ॒धे ||

ā́ pyāyasva madintama sóma víśvebhir aṁśúbhiḥ bhávā naḥ suśrávastamaḥ sákhā vr̥dhé

Soma, most delightful one, grow strong with all your radiant streams. Be our friend with the most famous glory, for our growth.

Stanza 1.91.18

सं ते॒ पयां॑सि॒ समु॑ यन्तु॒ वाजाः॒ सं वृष्ण्या॑न्यभिमाति॒षाहः॑ | आ॒प्याय॑मानो अ॒मृता॑य सोम दि॒वि श्रवां॑स्युत्त॒मानि॑ धिष्व ||

sáṁ te páyāṁsi sám u yantu vā́jāḥ sáṁ vŕ̥ṣṇyāny abhimātiṣā́haḥ āpyā́yamāno amŕ̥tāya soma diví śrávāṁsy uttamā́ni dhiṣva

Soma, may your nourishing essences and powers unite within you. As you grow towards immortality, achieve the highest glories in the heavens.

Stanza 1.91.19

या ते॒ धामा॑नि ह॒विषा॒ यज॑न्ति॒ ता ते॒ विश्वा॑ परि॒भूर॑स्तु य॒ज्ञम् | ग॒य॒स्फानः॑ प्र॒तर॑णः सु॒वीरोऽवी॑रहा॒ प्र च॑रा सोम॒ दुर्या॑न् ||

yā́ te dhā́māni havíṣā yájanti tā́ te víśvā paribhū́r astu yajñám gayasphā́naḥ pratáraṇaḥ suvī́ró 'vīrahā prá carā soma dúryān

Soma, may all your glories, which are honored by offerings, surround our worship. Wealth-giver, swift protector of heroes, come to our homes.

Stanza 1.91.20

सोमो॑ धे॒नुं सोमो॒ अर्व॑न्तमा॒शुं सोमो॑ वी॒रं क॑र्म॒ण्यं॑ ददाति | सा॒द॒न्यं॑ विद॒थ्यं॑ स॒भेयं॑ पितृ॒श्रव॑णं॒ यो ददा॑शदस्मै ||

sómo dhenúṁ sómo árvantam āśúṁ sómo vīráṁ karmaṇyàṁ dadāti sādanyàṁ vidathyàṁ sabhéyam pitr̥śrávaṇaṁ yó dádāśad asmai

Soma gives a cow, a swift horse, a capable man, one skilled in domestic duties, knowledgeable in assemblies, and one who brings glory to his ancestors, to one who worships him.

Stanza 1.91.21

अषा॑ळ्हं यु॒त्सु पृत॑नासु॒ पप्रिं॑ स्व॒र्षाम॒प्सां वृ॒जन॑स्य गो॒पाम् | भ॒रे॒षु॒जां सु॑क्षि॒तिं सु॒श्रव॑सं॒ जय॑न्तं॒ त्वामनु॑ मदेम सोम ||

áṣāḷhaṁ yutsú pŕ̥tanāsu pápriṁ svarṣā́m apsā́ṁ vr̥jánasya gopā́m bhareṣujā́ṁ sukṣitíṁ suśrávasaṁ jáyantaṁ tvā́m ánu madema soma

Soma, you are invincible in battles, a protector of armies, a guardian of our community, and a conqueror of light and waters. Born amidst hymns, famous, and victorious, we rejoice in you.

Stanza 1.91.22

त्वमि॒मा ओष॑धीः सोम॒ विश्वा॒स्त्वम॒पो अ॑जनय॒स्त्वं गाः | त्वमा त॑तन्थो॒र्व१॒॑न्तरि॑क्षं॒ त्वं ज्योति॑षा॒ वि तमो॑ ववर्थ ||

tvám imā́ óṣadhīḥ soma víśvās tvám apó ajanayas tváṁ gā́ḥ tvám ā́ tatanthorv àntárikṣaṁ tváṁ jyótiṣā ví támo vavartha

Soma, you created these plants, these waters, and these cows. You expanded the vast sky and dispelled the darkness with light.

Stanza 1.91.23

दे॒वेन॑ नो॒ मन॑सा देव सोम रा॒यो भा॒गं स॑हसावन्न॒भि यु॑ध्य | मा त्वा त॑न॒दीशि॑षे वी॒र्य॑स्यो॒भये॑भ्यः॒ प्र चि॑कित्सा॒ गवि॑ष्टौ ||

devéna no mánasā deva soma rāyó bhāgáṁ sahasāvann abhí yudhya mā́ tvā́ tanad ī́śiṣe vīryàsyobháyebhyaḥ prá cikitsā gáviṣṭau

Soma, O God, with your divine mind, conquer riches for us with your strength. You are the lord of might, so fight for us. You are powerful, so don't let anyone stop you. Provide for both sides in the contest for booty.
