Indra, you mighty one, for our offering, you swiftly bring your chariot near, even when it seems far away. Blameless one, you guide it to us. Make it powerful for our needs! Please, hear our words, spoken with the intention of skillful organizers.

Indra, hear us! In every battle, you are called upon for your strength. You are the one who, with heroes, overcomes and with the wise wins rewards. Those who are capable desire you, like a swift and powerful horse.

Mighty Indra, you make the flowing substance appear and keep evil humans away. Hero, you protect us from them. I sing this praise to you, Indra, and also to heaven, to Rudra with his own glory, and to Mitra and Varuna, who are widely known and kind.

We want Indra to be our friend and helper in battles and in all our endeavors. May he, who is strong and supports everyone, be with us. He is our ally, our strong companion in the contests. No enemy can defeat the one you strike down, Indra; you always win.

I want to speak about the Soma that is to be invoked, which, like a powerful arrow, shakes our minds and destroys evil. May it, by itself, drive away hostile thoughts from us. May wickedness and harmful speech disappear, vanishing like a small particle.

Indra, come with your glorious help for us! Surround us and protect us from the wicked and their evil thoughts. That which is thrown against us by enemies will destroy them. The weapon, once launched, will not reach its mark; it will fail.
