Stanza 9.61.1

अ॒या वी॒ती परि॑ स्रव॒ यस्त॑ इन्दो॒ मदे॒ष्वा | अ॒वाह॑न्नव॒तीर्नव॑ ||

ayā́ vītī́ pári srava yás ta indo mádeṣv ā́ avā́han navatī́r náva

Flow onward, O Indu (Soma), with this sustenance, for him who, in your rapturous delights, has overwhelmed the ninety-nine.

Stanza 9.61.2

पुरः॑ स॒द्य इ॒त्थाधि॑ये॒ दिवो॑दासाय॒ शम्ब॑रम् | अध॒ त्यं तु॒र्वशं॒ यदु॑म् ||

púraḥ sadyá itthā́dhiye dívodāsāya śámbaram ádha tyáṁ turváśaṁ yádum

Swiftly destroyed the forts, and Sambara; then that Turvasha and Yadu, for the sake of the pious Divodasa.

Stanza 9.61.3

परि॑ णो॒ अश्व॑मश्व॒विद्गोम॑दिन्दो॒ हिर॑ण्यवत् | क्षरा॑ सह॒स्रिणी॒रिषः॑ ||

pári ṇo áśvam aśvavíd gómad indo híraṇyavat kṣárā sahasríṇīr íṣaḥ

O finder of horses, pour upon us horses, wealth with cattle, and gold, O Indu; flow with countless nourishment.

Stanza 9.61.4

पव॑मानस्य ते व॒यं प॒वित्र॑मभ्युन्द॒तः | स॒खि॒त्वमा वृ॑णीमहे ||

pávamānasya te vayám pavítram abhyundatáḥ sakhitvám ā́ vr̥ṇīmahe

We seek your friendship, O Pavamana, as you flow through the purifying filter; we choose your companionship.

Stanza 9.61.5

ये ते॑ प॒वित्र॑मू॒र्मयो॑ऽभि॒क्षर॑न्ति॒ धार॑या | तेभि॑र्नः सोम मृळय ||

yé te pavítram ūrmáyo 'bhikṣáranti dhā́rayā tébhir naḥ soma mr̥ḷaya

O Soma, with those waves that flow over your purifying sieve, be gracious to us.

Stanza 9.61.6

स नः॑ पुना॒न आ भ॑र र॒यिं वी॒रव॑ती॒मिष॑म् | ईशा॑नः सोम वि॒श्वतः॑ ||

sá naḥ punāná ā́ bhara rayíṁ vīrávatīm íṣam ī́śānaḥ soma viśvátaḥ

O purifying Soma, bring us wealth with heroic sons and nourishment from all sides, as you are the ruler.

Stanza 9.61.7

ए॒तमु॒ त्यं दश॒ क्षिपो॑ मृ॒जन्ति॒ सिन्धु॑मातरम् | समा॑दि॒त्येभि॑रख्यत ||

etám u tyáṁ dáśa kṣípo mr̥jánti síndhumātaram sám ādityébhir akhyata

The ten fingers purify him, the child of the rivers; he is seen with the Adityas and the sun's rays.

Stanza 9.61.8

समिन्द्रे॑णो॒त वा॒युना॑ सु॒त ए॑ति प॒वित्र॒ आ | सं सूर्य॑स्य र॒श्मिभिः॑ ||

sám índreṇotá vāyúnā sutá eti pavítra ā́ sáṁ sū́ryasya raśmíbhiḥ

Effused, he flows with Indra and Vayu, through the purifying sieve, along with the sun's rays.

Stanza 9.61.9

स नो॒ भगा॑य वा॒यवे॑ पू॒ष्णे प॑वस्व॒ मधु॑मान् | चारु॑र्मि॒त्रे वरु॑णे च ||

sá no bhágāya vāyáve pūṣṇé pavasva mádhumān cā́rur mitré váruṇe ca

Flow, O Soma, with sweetness for our Bhaga, Vayu, Pushan, and for Mitra and Varuna.

Stanza 9.61.10

उ॒च्चा ते॑ जा॒तमन्ध॑सो दि॒वि षद्भूम्या द॑दे | उ॒ग्रं शर्म॒ महि॒ श्रवः॑ ||

uccā́ te jātám ándhaso diví ṣád bhū́my ā́ dade ugráṁ śárma máhi śrávaḥ

High is your birth from the sky; on earth you have attained strong protection and great glory.

Stanza 9.61.11

ए॒ना विश्वा॑न्य॒र्य आ द्यु॒म्नानि॒ मानु॑षाणाम् | सिषा॑सन्तो वनामहे ||

enā́ víśvāny aryá ā́ dyumnā́ni mā́nuṣāṇām síṣāsanto vanāmahe

With him, we desire to win all the wealth of the non-believers and the glory of mankind.

Stanza 9.61.12

स न॒ इन्द्रा॑य॒ यज्य॑वे॒ वरु॑णाय म॒रुद्भ्यः॑ | व॒रि॒वो॒वित्परि॑ स्रव ||

sá na índrāya yájyave váruṇāya marúdbhyaḥ varivovít pári srava

Flow to us, O finder of space and freedom, for Indra, the worshippable one, for Varuna and the Maruts.

Stanza 9.61.13

उपो॒ षु जा॒तम॒प्तुरं॒ गोभि॑र्भ॒ङ्गं परि॑ष्कृतम् | इन्दुं॑ दे॒वा अ॑यासिषुः ||

úpo ṣú jātám aptúraṁ góbhir bhaṅgám páriṣkr̥tam índuṁ devā́ ayāsiṣuḥ

The gods have approached Soma, the born one, purified with milk and adorned.

Stanza 9.61.14

तमिद्व॑र्धन्तु नो॒ गिरो॑ व॒त्सं सं॒शिश्व॑रीरिव | य इन्द्र॑स्य हृदं॒सनिः॑ ||

tám íd vardhantu no gíro vatsáṁ saṁśíśvarīr iva yá índrasya hr̥daṁsániḥ

As mothers nourish their calf, so let our hymns strengthen him, who wins Indra's heart.

Stanza 9.61.15

अर्षा॑ णः सोम॒ शं गवे॑ धु॒क्षस्व॑ पि॒प्युषी॒मिष॑म् | वर्धा॑ समु॒द्रमु॒क्थ्य॑म् ||

árṣā ṇaḥ soma śáṁ gáve dhukṣásva pipyúṣīm íṣam várdhā samudrám ukthyàm

O Soma, pour blessings on our cows, pour forth abundant nourishment, and increase the praiseworthy ocean.

Stanza 9.61.16

पव॑मानो अजीजनद्दि॒वश्चि॒त्रं न त॑न्य॒तुम् | ज्योति॑र्वैश्वान॒रं बृ॒हत् ||

pávamāno ajījanad diváś citráṁ ná tanyatúm jyótir vaiśvānarám br̥hát

The purifying Soma created from heaven the wonderful thunder and the great light of Vaisvanara.

Stanza 9.61.17

पव॑मानस्य ते॒ रसो॒ मदो॑ राजन्नदुच्छु॒नः | वि वार॒मव्य॑मर्षति ||

pávamānasya te ráso mádo rājann aduchunáḥ ví vā́ram ávyam arṣati

Your joyous and auspicious juice, O King Soma, flows through the woolen strainer.

Stanza 9.61.18

पव॑मान॒ रस॒स्तव॒ दक्षो॒ वि रा॑जति द्यु॒मान् | ज्योति॒र्विश्वं॒ स्व॑र्दृ॒शे ||

pávamāna rásas táva dákṣo ví rājati dyumā́n jyótir víśvaṁ svàr dr̥śé

Your juice, O Pavamana, shines forth with skill, radiant and full of light for all to see.

Stanza 9.61.19

यस्ते॒ मदो॒ वरे॑ण्य॒स्तेना॑ पव॒स्वान्ध॑सा | दे॒वा॒वीर॑घशंस॒हा ||

yás te mádo váreṇyas ténā pavasvā́ndhasā devāvī́r aghaśaṁsahā́

Flow with that excellent and delightful juice of yours, O Soma, which destroys evil and is dear to the gods.

Stanza 9.61.20

जघ्नि॑र्वृ॒त्रम॑मि॒त्रियं॒ सस्नि॒र्वाजं॑ दि॒वेदि॑वे | गो॒षा उ॑ अश्व॒सा अ॑सि ||

jághnir vr̥trám amitríyaṁ sásnir vā́jaṁ divé-dive goṣā́ u aśvasā́ asi

Having killed Vritra and the enemy, winning wealth daily, you are the gainer of cows and horses.

Stanza 9.61.21

सम्मि॑श्लो अरु॒षो भ॑व सूप॒स्थाभि॒र्न धे॒नुभिः॑ | सीद॑ञ्छ्ये॒नो न योनि॒मा ||

sámmiślo aruṣó bhava sūpasthā́bhir ná dhenúbhiḥ sī́dañ chyenó ná yónim ā́

Be blended, reddish one, with the milk like a mother's breast; rest like a falcon in its nest.

Stanza 9.61.22

स प॑वस्व॒ य आवि॒थेन्द्रं॑ वृ॒त्राय॒ हन्त॑वे | व॒व्रि॒वांसं॑ म॒हीर॒पः ||

sá pavasva yá ā́vithéndraṁ vr̥trā́ya hántave vavrivā́ṁsam mahī́r apáḥ

Flow, you who strengthened Indra to kill Vritra, who held back the great waters.

Stanza 9.61.23

सु॒वीरा॑सो व॒यं धना॒ जये॑म सोम मीढ्वः | पु॒ना॒नो व॑र्ध नो॒ गिरः॑ ||

suvī́rāso vayáṁ dhánā jáyema soma mīḍhvaḥ punānó vardha no gíraḥ

O Soma, giver of gifts, may we win wealth with our heroic sons; as you purify yourself, strengthen our hymns.

Stanza 9.61.24

त्वोता॑स॒स्तवाव॑सा॒ स्याम॑ व॒न्वन्त॑ आ॒मुरः॑ | सोम॑ व्र॒तेषु॑ जागृहि ||

tvótāsas távā́vasā syā́ma vanvánta āmúraḥ sóma vratéṣu jāgr̥hi

Aided by your help and grace, may we be victorious warriors; O Soma, be watchful in our rites.

Stanza 9.61.25

अ॒प॒घ्नन्प॑वते॒ मृधोऽप॒ सोमो॒ अरा॑व्णः | गच्छ॒न्निन्द्र॑स्य निष्कृ॒तम् ||

apaghnán pavate mŕ̥dhó 'pa sómo árāvṇaḥ gáchann índrasya niṣkr̥tám

Driving away enemies and the godless, Soma flows onward, going to Indra's appointed place.

Stanza 9.61.26

म॒हो नो॑ रा॒य आ भ॑र॒ पव॑मान ज॒ही मृधः॑ | रास्वे॑न्दो वी॒रव॒द्यशः॑ ||

mahó no rāyá ā́ bhara pávamāna jahī́ mŕ̥dhaḥ rā́svendo vīrávad yáśaḥ

O purifying Soma, bring us great riches and destroy our enemies; O Indu, grant us heroic and widespread fame.

Stanza 9.61.27

न त्वा॑ श॒तं च॒न ह्रुतो॒ राधो॒ दित्स॑न्त॒मा मि॑नन् | यत्पु॑ना॒नो म॑ख॒स्यसे॑ ||

ná tvā śatáṁ caná hrúto rā́dho dítsantam ā́ minan yát punānó makhasyáse

Not even a hundred obstacles have checked you when you wish to give your gifts, as you purify yourself.

Stanza 9.61.28

पव॑स्वेन्दो॒ वृषा॑ सु॒तः कृ॒धी नो॑ य॒शसो॒ जने॑ | विश्वा॒ अप॒ द्विषो॑ जहि ||

pávasvendo vŕ̥ṣā sutáḥ kr̥dhī́ no yaśáso jáne víśvā ápa dvíṣo jahi

Flow, O Soma, potent juice; make us glorious among people, and destroy all enemies.

Stanza 9.61.29

अस्य॑ ते स॒ख्ये व॒यं तवे॑न्दो द्यु॒म्न उ॑त्त॒मे | सा॒स॒ह्याम॑ पृतन्य॒तः ||

ásya te sakhyé vayáṁ távendo dyumná uttamé sāsahyā́ma pr̥tanyatáḥ

In your supreme friendship and glory, O Indu, may we conquer those who wage war.

Stanza 9.61.30

या ते॑ भी॒मान्यायु॑धा ति॒ग्मानि॒ सन्ति॒ धूर्व॑णे | रक्षा॑ समस्य नो नि॒दः ||

yā́ te bhīmā́ny ā́yudhā tigmā́ni sánti dhū́rvaṇe rákṣā samasya no nidáḥ

Protect us with your terrible and sharp weapons from the godless and from sin.
