Stanza 8.78.1

पु॒रो॒ळाशं॑ नो॒ अन्ध॑स॒ इन्द्र॑ स॒हस्र॒मा भ॑र | श॒ता च॑ शूर॒ गोना॑म् ||

puroḷā́śaṁ no ándhasa índra sahásram ā́ bhara śatā́ ca śūra gónām

O Indra, lord of strength, bring us a thousand [gifts] and a hundred cows as our share of the Soma juice.

Stanza 8.78.2

आ नो॑ भर॒ व्यञ्ज॑नं॒ गामश्व॑म॒भ्यञ्ज॑नम् | सचा॑ म॒ना हि॑र॒ण्यया॑ ||

ā́ no bhara vyáñjanaṁ gā́m áśvam abhyáñjanam sácā manā́ hiraṇyáyā

Bring us adornment, bring cattle, bring steeds and beautification, and also golden rings.

Stanza 8.78.3

उ॒त नः॑ कर्ण॒शोभ॑ना पु॒रूणि॑ धृष्ण॒वा भ॑र | त्वं हि शृ॑ण्वि॒षे व॑सो ||

utá naḥ karṇaśóbhanā purū́ṇi dhr̥ṣṇav ā́ bhara tváṁ hí śr̥ṇviṣé vaso

And O bold Indra, bring us abundant ear-ornaments and many other things. For indeed, O possessor of wealth, you are heard.

Stanza 8.78.4

नकीं॑ वृधी॒क इ॑न्द्र ते॒ न सु॒षा न सु॒दा उ॒त | नान्यस्त्वच्छू॑र वा॒घतः॑ ||

nákīṁ vr̥dhīká indra te ná suṣā́ ná sudā́ utá nā́nyás tvác chūra vāghátaḥ

O Indra, there is no one else to praise or to give gifts like you, O hero. No one else rivals you, giver of wealth.

Stanza 8.78.5

नकी॒मिन्द्रो॒ निक॑र्तवे॒ न श॒क्रः परि॑शक्तवे | विश्वं॑ शृणोति॒ पश्य॑ति ||

nákīm índro níkartave ná śakráḥ páriśaktave víśvaṁ śr̥ṇoti páśyati

Indra cannot be brought down, nor can the powerful one be overpowered. He hears all and sees all.

Stanza 8.78.6

स म॒न्युं मर्त्या॑ना॒मद॑ब्धो॒ नि चि॑कीषते | पु॒रा नि॒दश्चि॑कीषते ||

sá manyúm mártyānām ádabdho ní cikīṣate purā́ nidáś cikīṣate

Undeceivable, he perceives the wrath of mortals, and before blame arises, he takes note of it.

Stanza 8.78.7

क्रत्व॒ इत्पू॒र्णमु॒दरं॑ तु॒रस्या॑स्ति विध॒तः | वृ॒त्र॒घ्नः सो॑म॒पाव्नः॑ ||

krátva ít pūrṇám udáraṁ turásyāsti vidhatáḥ vr̥traghnáḥ somapā́vnaḥ

He, the slayer of Vritra, the drinker of Soma, the swift one, has a stomach full of might, and is the ordainer.

Stanza 8.78.8

त्वे वसू॑नि॒ संग॑ता॒ विश्वा॑ च सोम॒ सौभ॑गा | सु॒दात्वप॑रिह्वृता ||

tvé vásūni sáṁgatā víśvā ca soma saúbhagā sudā́tv áparihvr̥tā

In you, O Soma (Indra), all treasures are gathered, and all prosperity. You are easy to give and unhindered.

Stanza 8.78.9

त्वामिद्य॑व॒युर्मम॒ कामो॑ ग॒व्युर्हि॑रण्य॒युः | त्वाम॑श्व॒युरेष॑ते ||

tvā́m íd yavayúr máma kā́mo gavyúr hiraṇyayúḥ tvā́m aśvayúr éṣate

Towards you, indeed, is directed my desire, O Indra, craving grain, craving cows, craving gold, craving horses.

Stanza 8.78.10

तवेदि॑न्द्रा॒हमा॒शसा॒ हस्ते॒ दात्रं॑ च॒ना द॑दे | दि॒नस्य॑ वा मघव॒न्त्सम्भृ॑तस्य वा पू॒र्धि यव॑स्य का॒शिना॑ ||

távéd indrāhám āśásā háste dā́traṁ canā́ dade dinásya vā maghavan sámbhr̥tasya vā pūrdhí yávasya kāśínā

O Indra, it is through hope in you that I take even this sickle in my hand. O Maghavan, fill my hand with harvested or cut barley.
