O Indra and Varuṇa, what wisdom, what thought, what knowledge you gave to the sages in the beginning. What places the wise, establishing sacrifice through austerity, created – I have perceived these.
This stanza reflects on the divine bestowal of wisdom, speech, and knowledge upon the ancient sages by Indra and Varuṇa. It also acknowledges the creation of various realms and structures by wise beings through diligent effort and spiritual practice (tapas). The poet states they have perceived these through their own spiritual insight.
