ए॒तत्त॑ इन्द्र वी॒र्यं॑ गी॒र्भिर्गृ॒णन्ति॑ का॒रवः॑ | ते स्तोभ॑न्त॒ ऊर्ज॑मावन्घृत॒श्चुतं॑ पौ॒रासो॑ नक्षन्धी॒तिभिः॑ ||
etát ta indra vīryàṁ gīrbhír gr̥ṇánti kārávaḥ té stóbhanta ū́rjam āvan ghr̥taścútam paurā́so nakṣan dhītíbhiḥ
O Indra, the singers praise your heroic might with their hymns. They invigorate you with praise, O flowing with ghee. The people of Pura approach you with their devotions.
The hymn-makers, the Karavas, are praising Indra with their songs, celebrating his heroic strength. They offer him nourishment, symbolized by ghee (clarified butter), and the people of Pura approach him with their devotions.

They seek Indra for aid with their skillful devotion. You rejoice in their Soma-pressings, O Indra. Just as you rejoiced with Samvarta and Krishi, so rejoice with us.
The singers seek Indra for his help through their skillful devotion, especially during the Soma-pressings (sutéṣu). They recall how Indra rejoiced with figures like Samvarta and Krishi, and now they implore him to be joyous with them as well.

O leader of the battle, O leader of men, lead us to the contest of strength. Those who have won through rites, divine offerings, and hospitality to gods, they are renowned.
The poet addresses Indra as the leader in battles and of heroes, urging him to lead them to victory in the contest of strength and resources ('vāja'). He states that those who perform rituals, offer sacrifices, and host divine guests achieve great fame.
