Stanza 8.52.1

यथा॒ मनौ॒ विव॑स्वति॒ सोमं॑ श॒क्रापि॑बः सु॒तम् | यथा॑ त्रि॒ते छन्द॑ इन्द्र॒ जुजो॑षस्या॒यौ मा॑दयसे॒ सचा॑ ||

yáthā mánau vívasvati sómaṁ śakrā́pibaḥ sutám yáthā trité chánda indra jújoṣasy āyaú mādayase sácā

O Indra, just as you joyfully drank the pressed Soma with Manu in Vivasvan's presence, and as you delighted in the hymn of Trita, so now you revel with Ayu.

Stanza 8.52.2

पृष॑ध्रे॒ मेध्ये॑ मात॒रिश्व॒नीन्द्र॑ सुवा॒ने अम॑न्दथाः | यथा॒ सोमं॒ दश॑शिप्रे॒ दशो॑ण्ये॒ स्यूम॑रश्मा॒वृजू॑नसि ||

pŕ̥ṣadhre médhye mātaríśvanī́ndra suvāné ámandathāḥ yáthā sómaṁ dáśaśipre dáśoṇye syū́maraśmāv ŕ̥jūnasi

O Indra, you rejoiced with Prishadhra, Medhya, and Matarishvan, when the Soma was pressed. As you drank Soma with Dashashipra, Dashonya, Syumarashmi, and Rjunasi, so you are exhilarated.

Stanza 8.52.3

य उ॒क्था केव॑ला द॒धे यः सोमं॑ धृषि॒तापि॑बत् | यस्मै॒ विष्णु॒स्त्रीणि॑ प॒दा वि॑चक्र॒म उप॑ मि॒त्रस्य॒ धर्म॑भिः ||

yá ukthā́ kévalā dadhé yáḥ sómaṁ dhr̥ṣitā́pibat yásmai víṣṇus trī́ṇi padā́ vicakramá úpa mitrásya dhármabhiḥ

He who kept the hymns solely for himself, and boldly drank Soma. For whom Vishnu took his three wide steps, according to the order of Mitra.

Stanza 8.52.4

यस्य॒ त्वमि॑न्द्र॒ स्तोमे॑षु चा॒कनो॒ वाजे॑ वाजिञ्छतक्रतो | तं त्वा॑ व॒यं सु॒दुघा॑मिव गो॒दुहो॑ जुहू॒मसि॑ श्रव॒स्यवः॑ ||

yásya tvám indra stómeṣu cākáno vā́je vājiñ chatakrato táṁ tvā vayáṁ sudúghām iva godúho juhūmási śravasyávaḥ

O Indra, you delighted in our praises and mighty deeds. O hundred-powered one, like milkers call a cow that yields much milk, we call you, O bountiful one, for fame.

Stanza 8.52.5

यो नो॑ दा॒ता स नः॑ पि॒ता म॒हाँ उ॒ग्र ई॑शान॒कृत् | अया॑मन्नु॒ग्रो म॒घवा॑ पुरू॒वसु॒र्गोरश्व॑स्य॒ प्र दा॑तु नः ||

yó no dātā́ sá naḥ pitā́ mahā́m̐ ugrá īśānakŕ̥t áyāmann ugró maghávā purūvásur gór áśvasya prá dātu naḥ

He who is our giver is our father, the great, the mighty, the ruling one. May he, the powerful, the wealthy, the abundant in possessions, spontaneously give us cows and horses.

Stanza 8.52.6

यस्मै॒ त्वं व॑सो दा॒नाय॒ मंह॑से॒ स रा॒यस्पोष॑मिन्वति | व॒सू॒यवो॒ वसु॑पतिं श॒तक्र॑तुं॒ स्तोमै॒रिन्द्रं॑ हवामहे ||

yásmai tváṁ vaso dānā́ya máṁhase sá rāyás póṣam invati vasūyávo vásupatiṁ śatákratuṁ stómair índraṁ havāmahe

To whom you, O Vasu, are generous for the sake of giving, he attains wealth and prosperity. Eager for wealth, we call upon Indra, the lord of wealth, the hundred-powered one, with hymns.

Stanza 8.52.7

क॒दा च॒न प्र यु॑च्छस्यु॒भे नि पा॑सि॒ जन्म॑नी | तुरी॑यादित्य॒ हव॑नं त इन्द्रि॒यमा त॑स्थाव॒मृतं॑ दि॒वि ||

kadā́ caná prá yuchasy ubhé ní pāsi jánmanī túrīyāditya hávanaṁ ta indriyám ā́ tasthāv amŕ̥taṁ diví

You never neglect, O Indra. You protect both births (worlds/realms). The call to you, O fourth Aditya, is thine own. Immortality is established in the heavens.

Stanza 8.52.8

यस्मै॒ त्वं म॑घवन्निन्द्र गिर्वणः॒ शिक्षो॒ शिक्ष॑सि दा॒शुषे॑ | अ॒स्माकं॒ गिर॑ उ॒त सु॑ष्टु॒तिं व॑सो कण्व॒वच्छृ॑णुधी॒ हव॑म् ||

yásmai tvám maghavann indra girvaṇaḥ śíkṣo śíkṣasi dāśúṣe asmā́kaṁ gíra utá suṣṭutíṁ vaso kaṇvavác chr̥ṇudhī hávam

For whom you, O Indra, liberal one and beloved of song, strive to give, O desiring one. Hear our song and our praise, O benevolent one, as you heard Kanva's call.

Stanza 8.52.9

अस्ता॑वि॒ मन्म॑ पू॒र्व्यं ब्रह्मेन्द्रा॑य वोचत | पू॒र्वीर्ऋ॒तस्य॑ बृह॒तीर॑नूषत स्तो॒तुर्मे॒धा अ॑सृक्षत ||

ástāvi mánma pūrvyám bráhméndrāya vocata pūrvī́r r̥tásya br̥hatī́r anūṣata stotúr medhā́ asr̥kṣata

The ancient praise has been sung. O worshippers, say the prayer to Indra. They have sung many 'Brhati' verses of the sacrifice; the thoughts of the singer have brought them forth.

Stanza 8.52.10

समिन्द्रो॒ रायो॑ बृह॒तीर॑धूनुत॒ सं क्षो॒णी समु॒ सूर्य॑म् | सं शु॒क्रासः॒ शुच॑यः॒ सं गवा॑शिरः॒ सोमा॒ इन्द्र॑ममन्दिषुः ||

sám índro rā́yo br̥hatī́r adhūnuta sáṁ kṣoṇī́ sám u sū́ryam sáṁ śukrā́saḥ śúcayaḥ sáṁ gávāśiraḥ sómā índram amandiṣuḥ

Indra has brought together abundant wealth, and both worlds, and the sun. The bright and pure Somas, mixed with milk, have gladdened Indra.
