Stanza 8.29.1

ब॒भ्रुरेको॒ विषु॑णः सू॒नरो॒ युवा॒ञ्ज्य॑ङ्क्ते हिर॒ण्यय॑म् ||

babhrúr éko víṣuṇaḥ sūnáro yúvāñjy àṅkte hiraṇyáyam

One solitary, active, and diverse youth adorns the golden one.

Stanza 8.29.2

योनि॒मेक॒ आ स॑साद॒ द्योत॑नो॒ऽन्तर्दे॒वेषु॒ मेधि॑रः ||

yónim éka ā́ sasāda dyótano 'ntár devéṣu médhiraḥ

One luminous and wise one has settled in the place, among the gods.

Stanza 8.29.3

वाशी॒मेको॑ बिभर्ति॒ हस्त॑ आय॒सीम॒न्तर्दे॒वेषु॒ निध्रु॑विः ||

vā́śīm éko bibharti hásta āyasī́m antár devéṣu nídhruviḥ

One holds an iron knife in hand, firm among the gods.

Stanza 8.29.4

वज्र॒मेको॑ बिभर्ति॒ हस्त॒ आहि॑तं॒ तेन॑ वृ॒त्राणि॑ जिघ्नते ||

vájram éko bibharti hásta ā́hitaṁ téna vr̥trā́ṇi jighnate

One holds the thunderbolt in hand, with it he strikes down the Vr̥itras.

Stanza 8.29.5

ति॒ग्ममेको॑ बिभर्ति॒ हस्त॒ आयु॑धं॒ शुचि॑रु॒ग्रो जला॑षभेषजः ||

tigmám éko bibharti hásta ā́yudhaṁ śúcir ugró jálāṣabheṣajaḥ

One holds a sharp weapon in hand; he is pure, mighty, with healing powers.

Stanza 8.29.6

प॒थ एकः॑ पीपाय॒ तस्क॑रो यथाँ ए॒ष वे॑द निधी॒नाम् ||

pathá ékaḥ pīpāya táskaro yathām̐ eṣá veda nidhīnā́m

One, like a thief, watches the paths; he knows the places of treasures.

Stanza 8.29.7

त्रीण्येक॑ उरुगा॒यो वि च॑क्रमे॒ यत्र॑ दे॒वासो॒ मद॑न्ति ||

trī́ṇy éka urugāyó ví cakrame yátra devā́so mádanti

One with a vast stride has made three steps where the gods rejoice.

Stanza 8.29.8

विभि॒र्द्वा च॑रत॒ एक॑या स॒ह प्र प्र॑वा॒सेव॑ वसतः ||

víbhir dvā́ carata ékayā sahá prá-pravāséva vasataḥ

Two move with one companion, like travelers on a journey.

Stanza 8.29.9

सदो॒ द्वा च॑क्राते उप॒मा दि॒वि स॒म्राजा॑ स॒र्पिरा॑सुती ||

sádo dvā́ cakrāte upamā́ diví samrā́jā sarpírāsutī

Two supreme ones have established their seat in the sky, royal kings, worshipped with clarified butter.

Stanza 8.29.10

अर्च॑न्त॒ एके॒ महि॒ साम॑ मन्वत॒ तेन॒ सूर्य॑मरोचयन् ||

árcanta éke máhi sā́ma manvata téna sū́ryam arocayan

Some, praising, conceived the great Sama hymn, by which they made the sun shine.
