Stanza 8.102.1

त्वम॑ग्ने बृ॒हद्वयो॒ दधा॑सि देव दा॒शुषे॑ | क॒विर्गृ॒हप॑ति॒र्युवा॑ ||

tvám agne br̥hád váyo dádhāsi deva dāśúṣe kavír gr̥hápatir yúvā

O Agni, God, Lord of the house, Sage, and ever-youthful one, you possess great vitality and give it to the one who offers sacrifice.

Stanza 8.102.2

स न॒ ईळा॑नया स॒ह दे॒वाँ अ॑ग्ने दुव॒स्युवा॑ | चि॒किद्वि॑भान॒वा व॑ह ||

sá na ī́ḷānayā sahá devā́m̐ agne duvasyúvā cikíd vibhānav ā́ vaha

O Agni, accompanied by our prayerful service, you who are aware and radiant, bring the other gods here to us.

Stanza 8.102.3

त्वया॑ ह स्विद्यु॒जा व॒यं चोदि॑ष्ठेन यविष्ठ्य | अ॒भि ष्मो॒ वाज॑सातये ||

tváyā ha svid yujā́ vayáṁ códiṣṭhena yaviṣṭhya abhí ṣmo vā́jasātaye

Indeed, O most youthful one, with you as our ally, we are able to achieve success and gain abundance.

Stanza 8.102.4

औ॒र्व॒भृ॒गु॒वच्छुचि॑मप्नवान॒वदा हु॑वे | अ॒ग्निं स॑मु॒द्रवा॑ससम् ||

aurvabhr̥guvác chúcim apnavānavád ā́ huve agníṁ samudrávāsasam

As Aurva and Bhrigu invoked, I call upon pure Agni, who is clothed by the sea.

Stanza 8.102.5

हु॒वे वात॑स्वनं क॒विं प॒र्जन्य॑क्रन्द्यं॒ सहः॑ | अ॒ग्निं स॑मु॒द्रवा॑ससम् ||

huvé vā́tasvanaṁ kavím parjányakrandyaṁ sáhaḥ agníṁ samudrávāsasam

I call upon the Sage who sounds like the wind, the might that roars like Parjanya, Agni clothed by the sea.

Stanza 8.102.6

आ स॒वं स॑वि॒तुर्य॑था॒ भग॑स्येव भु॒जिं हु॑वे | अ॒ग्निं स॑मु॒द्रवा॑ससम् ||

ā́ saváṁ savitúr yathā bhágasyeva bhujíṁ huve agníṁ samudrávāsasam

As the generative power of Savitr and the enjoyment of Bhaga, I call upon Agni, clothed by the sea.

Stanza 8.102.7

अ॒ग्निं वो॑ वृ॒धन्त॑मध्व॒राणां॑ पुरू॒तम॑म् | अच्छा॒ नप्त्रे॒ सह॑स्वते ||

agníṁ vo vr̥dhántam adhvarā́ṇām purūtámam áchā náptre sáhasvate

Agni, you who cause the rituals to grow, most beloved, come near to us and to Sahasvate.

Stanza 8.102.8

अ॒यं यथा॑ न आ॒भुव॒त्त्वष्टा॑ रू॒पेव॒ तक्ष्या॑ | अ॒स्य क्रत्वा॒ यश॑स्वतः ||

ayáṁ yáthā na ābhúvat tváṣṭā rūpéva tákṣyā asyá krátvā yáśasvataḥ

May this Agni stand by us, just as Tvashṭar attends to forms, through his glorious power.

Stanza 8.102.9

अ॒यं विश्वा॑ अ॒भि श्रियो॒ऽग्निर्दे॒वेषु॑ पत्यते | आ वाजै॒रुप॑ नो गमत् ||

ayáṁ víśvā abhí śríyo 'gnír devéṣu patyate ā́ vā́jair úpa no gamat

This Agni rules over all glories among the gods; may he come to us with abundance.

Stanza 8.102.10

विश्वे॑षामि॒ह स्तु॑हि॒ होतॄ॑णां य॒शस्त॑मम् | अ॒ग्निं य॒ज्ञेषु॑ पू॒र्व्यम् ||

víśveṣām ihá stuhi hótr̥r̥ṇāṁ yaśástamam agníṁ yajñéṣu pūrvyám

Here, praise Agni, the most renowned of all priests, the most ancient in sacrifices.

Stanza 8.102.11

शी॒रं पा॑व॒कशो॑चिषं॒ ज्येष्ठो॒ यो दमे॒ष्वा | दी॒दाय॑ दीर्घ॒श्रुत्त॑मः ||

śīrám pāvakáśociṣaṁ jyéṣṭho yó dámeṣv ā́ dīdā́ya dīrghaśrúttamaḥ

The radiant Agni, with purifying flame, greatest in homes, ever-shining and the farthest-hearing.

Stanza 8.102.12

तमर्व॑न्तं॒ न सा॑न॒सिं गृ॑णी॒हि वि॑प्र शु॒ष्मिण॑म् | मि॒त्रं न या॑त॒यज्ज॑नम् ||

tám árvantaṁ ná sānasíṁ gr̥ṇīhí vipra śuṣmíṇam mitráṁ ná yātayájjanam

O sage, praise him, the mighty one, who wins like a steed, and unites like Mitra.

Stanza 8.102.13

उप॑ त्वा जा॒मयो॒ गिरो॒ देदि॑शतीर्हवि॒ष्कृतः॑ | वा॒योरनी॑के अस्थिरन् ||

úpa tvā jāmáyo gíro dédiśatīr haviṣkŕ̥taḥ vāyór ánīke asthiran

The hymns, sisters to the oblation-makers, directed towards you, have settled in Agni's presence, before the wind.

Stanza 8.102.14

यस्य॑ त्रि॒धात्ववृ॑तं ब॒र्हिस्त॒स्थावसं॑दिनम् | आप॑श्चि॒न्नि द॑धा प॒दम् ||

yásya tridhā́tv ávr̥tam barhís tasthā́v ásaṁdinam ā́paś cin ní dadhā padám

For whom the threefold, unrestricted sacred grass is established, the waters find their place, and you place your offering.

Stanza 8.102.15

प॒दं दे॒वस्य॑ मी॒ळ्हुषोऽना॑धृष्टाभिरू॒तिभिः॑ | भ॒द्रा सूर्य॑ इवोप॒दृक् ||

padáṁ devásya mīḷhúṣó 'nādhr̥ṣṭābhir ūtíbhiḥ bhadrā́ sū́rya ivopadŕ̥k

The place of the bounteous god, with unassailable protections, has a pleasant aspect like the Sun.

Stanza 8.102.16

अग्ने॑ घृ॒तस्य॑ धी॒तिभि॑स्तेपा॒नो दे॑व शो॒चिषा॑ | आ दे॒वान्व॑क्षि॒ यक्षि॑ च ||

ágne ghr̥tásya dhītíbhis tepānó deva śocíṣā ā́ devā́n vakṣi yákṣi ca

O Agni, God, blazing with splendor through offerings of sacred oil, bring the gods and worship them.

Stanza 8.102.17

तं त्वा॑जनन्त मा॒तरः॑ क॒विं दे॒वासो॑ अङ्गिरः | ह॒व्य॒वाह॒मम॑र्त्यम् ||

táṁ tvājananta mātáraḥ kavíṁ devā́so aṅgiraḥ havyavā́ham ámartyam

The mothers brought you forth, O Angiras, immortal Sage, bearer of oblations.

Stanza 8.102.18

प्रचे॑तसं त्वा क॒वेऽग्ने॑ दू॒तं वरे॑ण्यम् | ह॒व्य॒वाहं॒ नि षे॑दिरे ||

prácetasaṁ tvā kavé 'gne dūtáṁ váreṇyam havyavā́haṁ ní ṣedire

O wise Agni, Sage, the gods established you as the noblest messenger, the bearer of oblations.

Stanza 8.102.19

न॒हि मे॒ अस्त्यघ्न्या॒ न स्वधि॑ति॒र्वन॑न्वति | अथै॑ता॒दृग्भ॑रामि ते ||

nahí me ásty ághnyā ná svádhitir vánanvati áthaitādŕ̥g bharāmi te

I have no unslayable cow, nor an axe to work the wood; yet I bring to you what I have.

Stanza 8.102.20

यद॑ग्ने॒ कानि॒ कानि॑ चि॒दा ते॒ दारू॑णि द॒ध्मसि॑ | ता जु॑षस्व यविष्ठ्य ||

yád agne kā́ni kā́ni cid ā́ te dā́rūṇi dadhmási tā́ juṣasva yaviṣṭhya

O Agni, whatever pieces of wood we offer you, be pleased with them, O most youthful one.

Stanza 8.102.21

यदत्त्यु॑प॒जिह्वि॑का॒ यद्व॒म्रो अ॑ति॒सर्प॑ति | सर्वं॒ तद॑स्तु ते घृ॒तम् ||

yád átty upajíhvikā yád vamró atisárpati sárvaṁ tád astu te ghr̥tám

Whatever the white ant eats, and whatever the emmet crawls over, may all of that become sacred oil for you.

Stanza 8.102.22

अ॒ग्निमिन्धा॑नो॒ मन॑सा॒ धियं॑ सचेत॒ मर्त्यः॑ | अ॒ग्निमी॑धे वि॒वस्व॑भिः ||

agním índhāno mánasā dhíyaṁ saceta mártyaḥ agním īdhe vivásvabhiḥ

When igniting Agni, the mortal should attend the song with his mind; I have kindled Agni with the priests.
