Stanza 7.96.1

बृ॒हदु॑ गायिषे॒ वचो॑ऽसु॒र्या॑ न॒दीना॑म् | सर॑स्वती॒मिन्म॑हया सुवृ॒क्तिभिः॒ स्तोमै॑र्वसिष्ठ॒ रोद॑सी ||

br̥hád u gāyiṣe váco 'suryāā̀ nadī́nām sárasvatīm ín mahayā suvr̥ktíbhi stómair vasiṣṭha ródasī

I sing a great song, O Sarasvati, you who are the divine power of the rivers. With beautiful praises and hymns, may I praise you, O Vasishtha, and the heaven and earth.

Stanza 7.96.2

उ॒भे यत्ते॑ महि॒ना शु॑भ्रे॒ अन्ध॑सी अधिक्षि॒यन्ति॑ पू॒रवः॑ | सा नो॑ बोध्यवि॒त्री म॒रुत्स॑खा॒ चोद॒ राधो॑ म॒घोना॑म् ||

ubhé yát te mahinā́ śubhre ándhasī adhikṣiyánti pūrávaḥ sā́ no bodhy avitrī́ marútsakhā códa rā́dho maghónām

O beautiful Sarasvati, when the Pūrus, in their greatness, dwell by your banks, be our protector. You, with the Maruts as your companion, inspire the generosity of our leaders.

Stanza 7.96.3

भ॒द्रमिद्भ॒द्रा कृ॑णव॒त्सर॑स्व॒त्यक॑वारी चेतति वा॒जिनी॑वती | गृ॒णा॒ना ज॑मदग्नि॒वत्स्तु॑वा॒ना च॑ वसिष्ठ॒वत् ||

bhadrám íd bhadrā́ kr̥ṇavat sárasvaty ákavārī cetati vājínīvatī gr̥ṇānā́ jamadagnivát stuvānā́ ca vasiṣṭhavát

May Sarasvati, who is truly auspicious, bring good fortune. She, the one rich in wealth, is always mindful. Praised like Jamadagni, and lauded like Vasishtha.

Stanza 7.96.4

ज॒नी॒यन्तो॒ न्वग्र॑वः पुत्री॒यन्तः॑ सु॒दान॑वः | सर॑स्वन्तं हवामहे ||

janīyánto nv ágravaḥ putrīyántaḥ sudā́navaḥ sárasvantaṁ havāmahe

We call upon Sarasvant, O giver of wealth, just as men who desire wives, and generous men who desire sons.

Stanza 7.96.5

ये ते॑ सरस्व ऊ॒र्मयो॒ मधु॑मन्तो घृत॒श्चुतः॑ | तेभि॑र्नोऽवि॒ता भ॑व ||

yé te sarasva ūrmáyo mádhumanto ghr̥taścútaḥ tébhir no 'vitā́ bhava

O Sarasvant, with your waves that are full of sweetness and flow with ghee, be our protector.

Stanza 7.96.6

पी॒पि॒वांसं॒ सर॑स्वतः॒ स्तनं॒ यो वि॒श्वद॑र्शतः | भ॒क्षी॒महि॑ प्र॒जामिष॑म् ||

pīpivā́ṁsaṁ sárasvata stánaṁ yó viśvádarśataḥ bhakṣīmáhi prajā́m íṣam

May we partake of the all-seeing breast of Sarasvant, which is full of streams. May we consume progeny and sustenance.
