Stanza 7.4.1

prá vaḥ śukrā́ya bhānáve bharadhvaṁ havyám matíṁ cāgnáye súpūtam yó daívyāni mā́nuṣā janū́ṁṣy antár víśvāni vidmánā jígāti

Offer your pure oblation and hymns to Agni, whose radiance shines brightly. He is the messenger who, with knowledge, moves between all the worlds of gods and men.

Stanza 7.4.2

sá gŕ̥tso agnís táruṇaś cid astu yáto yáviṣṭho ájaniṣṭa mātúḥ sáṁ yó vánā yuváte śúcidan bhū́ri cid ánnā sám íd atti sadyáḥ

Let this Agni be wise and ever youthful. Since he was born, the youngest, from his mother, he swiftly binds the forests with his bright flames and consumes abundant food at once.

Stanza 7.4.3

asyá devásya saṁsády ánīke yám mártāsaḥ śyetáṁ jagr̥bhré ní yó gŕ̥bham paúruṣeyīm uvóca durókam agnír āyáve śuśoca

Before this God's assembly, whom mortals have seized in his white brilliance, may we stand. He who has endured the grasp of human actions, Agni shines forth for our livelihood.

Stanza 7.4.4

ayáṁ kavír ákaviṣu prácetā márteṣv agnír amŕ̥to ní dhāyi sá mā́ no átra juhuraḥ sahasvaḥ sádā tvé sumánasaḥ syāma

This Agni is a seer among the unseeing, wise among the foolish, and has been established as the immortal one among mortals. May you, O victorious one, not harm us here; may we always be well-disposed towards you.

Stanza 7.4.5

ā́ yó yóniṁ devákr̥taṁ sasā́da krátvā hy àgnír amŕ̥tām̐ átārīt tám óṣadhīś ca vanínaś ca gárbham bhū́miś ca viśvádhāyasam bibharti

He who has settled into the God-created dwelling, Agni, has indeed surpassed the immortals by his wisdom. He, unborn, supports the plants and trees, and the Earth, the universal sustainer.

Stanza 7.4.6

ī́śe hy àgnír amŕ̥tasya bhū́rer ī́śe rāyáḥ suvī́ryasya dā́toḥ mā́ tvā vayáṁ sahasāvann avī́rā mā́psavaḥ pári ṣadāma mā́duvaḥ

Indeed, Agni is lord of abundant immortality, and lord of the giver of wealth and heroic valor. O powerful one, may we not be without heroes, may we not sit around you without strength, nor without worship.

Stanza 7.4.7

pariṣádyaṁ hy áraṇasya rékṇo nítyasya rāyáḥ pátayaḥ syāma ná śéṣo agne anyájātam asty ácetānasya mā́ pathó ví dukṣaḥ

May we be masters of our own, ever-lasting wealth, and not of the enemy's spoils. Agni, indeed, is not of external origin. O Agni, do not let our path diverge from the foolish.

Stanza 7.4.8

nahí grábhāyā́raṇaḥ suśévo 'nyódaryo mánasā mántavā́ u ádhā cid ókaḥ púnar ít sá ety ā́ no vājy àbhīṣā́ḷ etu návyaḥ

An unwelcome stranger is not to be taken as one's own, nor one of another's kin, even though he comes to be thought of with the mind. May our mighty, triumphant hero, newly radiant, come to us.

Stanza 7.4.9

tvám agne vanuṣyató ní pāhi tvám u naḥ sahasāvann avadyā́t sáṁ tvā dhvasmanvád abhy ètu pā́thaḥ sáṁ rayí spr̥hayā́yyaḥ sahasrī́

O Agni, protect us from those who attack us; O powerful one, protect us from dishonor. May misfortune come upon them; may desirable wealth, in thousands, come to us.

Stanza 7.4.10

etā́ no agne saúbhagā didīhy ápi krátuṁ sucétasaṁ vatema víśvā stotŕ̥bhyo gr̥ṇaté ca santu yūyám pāta svastíbhiḥ sádā naḥ

O Agni, shine upon us this prosperity and grant us excellent understanding. May all things be for those who praise and sing to you. You gods, protect us always with blessings.
