प्र ब्रह्मै॑तु॒ सद॑नादृ॒तस्य॒ वि र॒श्मिभिः॑ ससृजे॒ सूर्यो॒ गाः | वि सानु॑ना पृथि॒वी स॑स्र उ॒र्वी पृ॒थु प्रती॑क॒मध्येधे॑ अ॒ग्निः ||
prá bráhmaitu sádanād r̥tásya ví raśmíbhiḥ sasr̥je sū́ryo gā́ḥ ví sā́nunā pr̥thivī́ sasra urvī́ pr̥thú prátīkam ádhy édhe agníḥ
May the prayer come forth from the abode of cosmic order. Surya, with his rays, has released the energies. The wide earth, with its high plains, is spread out; Agni has been kindled upon its spacious surface.
This verse invokes the sacred prayer (brahman) to emanate from its rightful place (sadana) connected to cosmic order (rita). The sun (Surya) is depicted as releasing the cosmic 'cattle' (representing light or energy) with its rays. The earth (prithvi) is described as being spread out widely with its high ridges, and fire (Agni) is shown to be ignited and spread across its spacious surface.

O Mitra and Varuna, who are mighty beings, I make this new hymn for you, like nourishment. One of you is an unerring leader. Mitra, speaking, guides people.

The paths of the wind come. The springs are filled like cows. Born in the high place of heaven, the bull roared from within the great udder.

They worship to gain friendship and sustenance. Praised by men, he has given abundance. Let this best reverence be offered to Rudra.
Worshippers (namasvínaḥ) perform sacrifices (yajante) in their own sacred space (své ṛtásya dhā́man) to gain friendship (sakhyám) with the deity and to obtain sustenance or life-force (váyaḥ). The deity, praised (stávānaḥ) by men (nŕ̥bhiḥ), has bestowed abundance (ví pŕ̥kṣaḥ bābadhe). The verse concludes with an offering of the most excellent reverence (idam námaḥ préṣṭham) to Rudra.

Coming together, glorious and roaring, Sarasvati, mother of floods, the seventh, and others, flow vigorously, are well-nourished, have excellent streams, and swell with their own waters.

Bring forth for yourselves the great Aramati, and Puṣan as the hero of the assembly, and Bhaga, the protector of our thoughts. Bring forth Vāja, the giver of bounty, and Purandhi.
The verse instructs the worshippers to bring forth (kr̥ṇudhvam) and present to them (vaḥ) the great Aramati (a goddess of devotion or contentment), the wise Puṣan (vidathyàm Pūṣaṇam) as a hero of assemblies, and Bhaga (Bhagam) who is the protector (avitāram) of thoughts (dhiyaḥ) related to this (asyāḥ). They are also asked to bring forth, for 'us' in times of obtaining (sātaū), the strength-giving Vāja (vājam) and the prosperous Purandhi (rātiṣā́cam púraṃdhim).

May this hymn reach you, O Maruts, and Vishnu, protector of the future offspring. May strength be given to the singer for offspring. May you always protect us with blessings.
