O Indra, come to us, you who know. May your bay horses be yoked and turn towards us. Although all people call to you, still listen to our call, O you who sustain all.
The worshipper is calling upon Indra, the powerful deity, to come to their sacrifice. They describe Indra's swift horses, implying his readiness to travel, and state that even though many humans are calling out to him, Indra should specifically listen to their prayers and wishes, as they are seeking his favor and help.

O Indra, by your leadership, you led together those who call out and the men. You did not fail to lead the two worlds. For you were born for great dominion and strength. You, though active, surpassed the very active.
This verse praises Indra's leadership and power, suggesting he unites and leads both cosmic realms (heaven and earth) and men. It connects this ability to his divine birth, which was for the purpose of acquiring great dominion and strength. The verse concludes with a metaphorical statement that his active prowess allowed him to overcome even those who were similarly energetic but perhaps less effective.

O Indra, favor us with these days, for the hostile people are being cleansed. Whatever falsehood Varuṇa has seen, may that powerful, illusion-knowing one forgive us.
The speaker implores Indra to bestow favor upon them in the present days, as those who are hostile are seeking purification or are being purified. They refer to an unspecified wrong or sin that Varuṇa, the wise and mystical deity, has observed. The stanza concludes with a plea that Varuṇa, the one who knows illusions, should forgive them.
