Stanza 7.26.1

ná sóma índram ásuto mamāda nā́brahmāṇo maghávānaṁ sutā́saḥ tásmā uktháṁ janaye yáj jújoṣan nr̥ván návīyaḥ śr̥ṇávad yáthā naḥ

Soma, not yet pressed, never pleased Indra; nor did unoffered juices please the liberal giver. Therefore, I create a hymn that he may favor, new and heroic, so that he may hear us.

Stanza 7.26.2

ukthá-ukthe sóma índram mamāda nīthé-nīthe maghávānaṁ sutā́saḥ yád īṁ sabā́dhaḥ pitáraṁ ná putrā́ḥ samānádakṣā ávase hávante

At every hymn, Soma pleased Indra; and pressed juices pleased the bounteous one. When, united in purpose, they call him for aid, like sons call their father.

Stanza 7.26.3

cakā́ra tā́ kr̥ṇávan nūnám anyā́ yā́ni bruvánti vedhásaḥ sutéṣu jánīr iva pátir ékaḥ samānó ní māmr̥je púra índraḥ sú sárvāḥ

He has done these things; may he do others. The priests declare them when the Soma is pressed. Indra has taken and possesses all the strongholds, just as a single husband possesses many wives.

Stanza 7.26.4

evā́ tám āhur utá śr̥ṇva índra éko vibhaktā́ taráṇir maghā́nām mithastúra ūtáyo yásya pūrvī́r asmé bhadrā́ṇi saścata priyā́ṇi

Thus they call him; listen, Indra is one, the distributor of riches, the conqueror of obstacles. Whose many helps come in succession. May good and dear things happen for us.

Stanza 7.26.5

evā́ vásiṣṭha índram ūtáye nr̥ŕ̥n kr̥ṣṭīnā́ṁ vr̥ṣabháṁ suté gr̥ṇāti sahasríṇa úpa no māhi vā́jān yūyám pāta svastíbhiḥ sádā naḥ

Thus Vasishtha, for help, praises Indra, the bull of the people, at the pressing of Soma. Grant us thousands of powers and wealths. You who are gods, protect us with blessings always.
