    Stanza 7.16.1

    ए॒ना वो॑ अ॒ग्निं नम॑सो॒र्जो नपा॑त॒मा हु॑वे | प्रि॒यं चेति॑ष्ठमर॒तिं स्व॑ध्व॒रं विश्व॑स्य दू॒तम॒मृत॑म् ||

    enā́ vo agníṁ námasorjó nápātam ā́ huve priyáṁ cétiṣṭham aratíṁ svadhvaráṁ víśvasya dūtám amŕ̥tam

    With this offering, O son of strength, I call you, Agni, beloved and most wise messenger, performing sacrifice excellently, immortal herald of all.

    Stanza 7.16.2

    स यो॑जते अरु॒षा वि॒श्वभो॑जसा॒ स दु॑द्रव॒त्स्वा॑हुतः | सु॒ब्रह्मा॑ य॒ज्ञः सु॒शमी॒ वसू॑नां दे॒वं राधो॒ जना॑नाम् ||

    sá yojate aruṣā́ viśvábhojasā sá dudravat svāā̀hutaḥ subráhmā yajñáḥ suśámī vásūnāṁ deváṁ rā́dho jánānām

    He yokes his red horses, all-sustaining. May he move swiftly, well-invoked. The sacrifice is well-ordered, and the divine gift of wealth comes to people.

    Stanza 7.16.3

    उद॑स्य शो॒चिर॑स्थादा॒जुह्वा॑नस्य मी॒ळ्हुषः॑ | उद्धू॒मासो॑ अरु॒षासो॑ दिवि॒स्पृशः॒ सम॒ग्निमि॑न्धते॒ नरः॑ ||

    úd asya śocír asthād ājúhvānasya mīḷhúṣaḥ úd dhūmā́so aruṣā́so divispŕ̥śaḥ sám agním indhate náraḥ

    The flame of the much-invoked, bountiful one has risen. His smoky, reddish clouds touch the sky. People kindle Agni.

    Stanza 7.16.4

    तं त्वा॑ दू॒तं कृ॑ण्महे य॒शस्त॑मं दे॒वाँ आ वी॒तये॑ वह | विश्वा॑ सूनो सहसो मर्त॒भोज॑ना॒ रास्व॒ तद्यत्त्वेम॑हे ||

    táṁ tvā dūtáṁ kr̥ṇmahe yaśástamaṁ devā́m̐ ā́ vītáye vaha víśvā sūno sahaso martabhójanā rā́sva tád yát tvémahe

    We make you, O Agni, the most glorious messenger. Bring the gods to the feast. O son of strength, give us all sustenance for humans, and grant that for which we pray.

    Stanza 7.16.5

    त्वम॑ग्ने गृ॒हप॑ति॒स्त्वं होता॑ नो अध्व॒रे | त्वं पोता॑ विश्ववार॒ प्रचे॑ता॒ यक्षि॒ वेषि॑ च॒ वार्य॑म् ||

    tvám agne gr̥hápatis tváṁ hótā no adhvaré tvám pótā viśvavāra prácetā yákṣi véṣi ca vā́ryam

    You, Agni, are the lord of the home, you are our priest at the sacrifice. You are the purifier, O bestower of boons, and wise. Perform the offering and accept the desirable things.

    Stanza 7.16.6

    कृ॒धि रत्नं॒ यज॑मानाय सुक्रतो॒ त्वं हि र॑त्न॒धा असि॑ | आ न॑ ऋ॒ते शि॑शीहि॒ विश्व॑मृ॒त्विजं॑ सु॒शंसो॒ यश्च॒ दक्ष॑ते ||

    kr̥dhí rátnaṁ yájamānāya sukrato tváṁ hí ratnadhā́ ási ā́ na r̥té śiśīhi víśvam r̥tvíjaṁ suśáṁso yáś ca dákṣate

    Grant wealth to the sacrificer, O excellent one. You indeed are the giver of riches. Inspire us, and inspire every priest and all who skillfully praise.

    Stanza 7.16.7

    त्वे अ॑ग्ने स्वाहुत प्रि॒यासः॑ सन्तु सू॒रयः॑ | य॒न्तारो॒ ये म॒घवा॑नो॒ जना॑नामू॒र्वान्दय॑न्त॒ गोना॑म् ||

    tvé agne svāhuta priyā́saḥ santu sūráyaḥ yantā́ro yé maghávāno jánānām ūrvā́n dáyanta gónām

    May the wise ones be dear to you, O Agni, well-invoked one. May the generous leaders of people, who distribute wealth and cattle, be dear.

    Stanza 7.16.8

    येषा॒मिळा॑ घृ॒तह॑स्ता दुरो॒ण आँ अपि॑ प्रा॒ता नि॒षीद॑ति | ताँस्त्रा॑यस्व सहस्य द्रु॒हो नि॒दो यच्छा॑ नः॒ शर्म॑ दीर्घ॒श्रुत् ||

    yéṣām íḷā ghr̥táhastā duroṇá ā́m̐ ápi prātā́ niṣī́dati tā́ṁs trāyasva sahasya druhó nidó yáchā naḥ śárma dīrghaśrút

    Protect those in whose house Iḷā, with ghee-filled hands, sits well-pleased. Protect them from evil and misfortune, O mighty one. Grant us protection and lasting fame.

    Stanza 7.16.9

    स म॒न्द्रया॑ च जि॒ह्वया॒ वह्नि॑रा॒सा वि॒दुष्ट॑रः | अग्ने॑ र॒यिं म॒घव॑द्भ्यो न॒ आ व॑ह ह॒व्यदा॑तिं च सूदय ||

    sá mandráyā ca jihváyā váhnir āsā́ vidúṣṭaraḥ ágne rayím maghávadbhyo na ā́ vaha havyádātiṁ ca sūdaya

    He, the bearer with the pleasant tongue and most wise mouth, O Agni, bring riches to the wealthy patrons and promote the offering of oblations.

    Stanza 7.16.10

    ये राधां॑सि॒ दद॒त्यश्व्या॑ म॒घा कामे॑न॒ श्रव॑सो म॒हः | ताँ अंह॑सः पिपृहि प॒र्तृभि॒ष्ट्वं श॒तं पू॒र्भिर्य॑विष्ठ्य ||

    yé rā́dhāṁsi dádaty áśvyā maghā́ kā́mena śrávaso maháḥ tā́m̐ áṁhasaḥ pipr̥hi partŕ̥bhiṣ ṭváṁ śatám pūrbhír yaviṣṭhya

    Those who give riches, horses, and great gifts with the desire for fame. Protect them from distress, O most youthful one, with hundred-fold protection.

    Stanza 7.16.11

    दे॒वो वो॑ द्रविणो॒दाः पू॒र्णां वि॑वष्ट्या॒सिच॑म् | उद्वा॑ सि॒ञ्चध्व॒मुप॑ वा पृणध्व॒मादिद्वो॑ दे॒व ओ॑हते ||

    devó vo draviṇodā́ḥ pūrṇā́ṁ vivaṣṭy āsícam úd vā siñcádhvam úpa vā pr̥ṇadhvam ā́d íd vo devá ohate

    You, the god who gives wealth, desire a full libation. Pour it out, then fill it up. Then the god will pay attention to you.

    Stanza 7.16.12

    तं होता॑रमध्व॒रस्य॒ प्रचे॑तसं॒ वह्निं॑ दे॒वा अ॑कृण्वत | दधा॑ति॒ रत्नं॑ विध॒ते सु॒वीर्य॑म॒ग्निर्जना॑य दा॒शुषे॑ ||

    táṁ hótāram adhvarásya prácetasaṁ váhniṁ devā́ akr̥ṇvata dádhāti rátnaṁ vidhaté suvī́ryam agnír jánāya dāśúṣe

    The gods made him the priest of the sacrifice, the wise bearer. Agni gives wealth and valor to the one who properly prepares and offers.
