Stanza 6.72.1

इन्द्रा॑सोमा॒ महि॒ तद्वां॑ महि॒त्वं यु॒वं म॒हानि॑ प्रथ॒मानि॑ चक्रथुः | यु॒वं सूर्यं॑ विवि॒दथु॑र्यु॒वं स्व१॒॑र्विश्वा॒ तमां॑स्यहतं नि॒दश्च॑ ||

índrāsomā máhi tád vām mahitváṁ yuvám mahā́ni prathamā́ni cakrathuḥ yuváṁ sū́ryaṁ vividáthur yuváṁ svàr víśvā támāṁsy ahataṁ nidáś ca

Indra and Soma, your greatness is vast; you two accomplished the first great deeds. You discovered the sun and the heavenly light; you destroyed all darkness and the foes of the gods.

Stanza 6.72.2

इन्द्रा॑सोमा वा॒सय॑थ उ॒षास॒मुत्सूर्यं॑ नयथो॒ ज्योति॑षा स॒ह | उप॒ द्यां स्क॒म्भथुः॒ स्कम्भ॑ने॒नाप्र॑थतं पृथि॒वीं मा॒तरं॒ वि ||

índrāsomā vāsáyatha uṣā́sam út sū́ryaṁ nayatho jyótiṣā sahá úpa dyā́ṁ skambháthu skámbhanenā́prathatam pr̥thivī́m mātáraṁ ví

Indra and Soma, you two made the dawn shine and led the sun with its light. You two supported the sky with a pillar and spread out the mother Earth.

Stanza 6.72.3

इन्द्रा॑सोमा॒वहि॑म॒पः प॑रि॒ष्ठां ह॒थो वृ॒त्रमनु॑ वां॒ द्यौर॑मन्यत | प्रार्णां॑स्यैरयतं न॒दीना॒मा स॑मु॒द्राणि॑ पप्रथुः पु॒रूणि॑ ||

índrāsomāv áhim apáḥ pariṣṭhā́ṁ hathó vr̥trám ánu vāṁ dyaúr amanyata prā́rṇāṁsy airayataṁ nadī́nām ā́ samudrā́ṇi paprathuḥ purū́ṇi

Indra and Soma, you two slew the serpent Vritra and released the waters. The sky agreed with you two; you urged on the rivers' currents, and many seas expanded.

Stanza 6.72.4

इन्द्रा॑सोमा प॒क्वमा॒मास्व॒न्तर्नि गवा॒मिद्द॑धथुर्व॒क्षणा॑सु | ज॒गृ॒भथु॒रन॑पिनद्धमासु॒ रुश॑च्चि॒त्रासु॒ जग॑तीष्व॒न्तः ||

índrāsomā pakvám āmā́sv antár ní gávām íd dadhathur vakṣáṇāsu jagr̥bháthur ánapinaddham āsu rúśac citrā́su jágatīṣv antáḥ

Indra and Soma, you two placed the ripened milk within the unripe udders of cows. You two firmly grasped the unimpeded whiteness within these colorful, moving beings.

Stanza 6.72.5

इन्द्रा॑सोमा यु॒वम॒ङ्ग तरु॑त्रमपत्य॒साचं॒ श्रुत्यं॑ रराथे | यु॒वं शुष्मं॒ नर्यं॑ चर्ष॒णिभ्यः॒ सं वि॑व्यथुः पृतना॒षाह॑मुग्रा ||

índrāsomā yuvám aṅgá tárutram apatyasā́caṁ śrútyaṁ rarāthe yuváṁ śúṣmaṁ náryaṁ carṣaṇíbhyaḥ sáṁ vivyathuḥ pr̥tanāṣā́ham ugrā

Indra and Soma, you two indeed bestow wealth, famous and protective for our offspring. You two, O Mighty Ones, have endowed men with heroic strength to conquer.
