O Mitra and Varuṇa, we will praise you, the most excellent of all who exist, with our songs. You two, who, like reins in the hands of a charioteer, perfectly control and guide, possess unmatched strength with your arms to manage the people.

Stanza 6.67.2

This my thought spreads out towards you, O Mitra and Varuṇa, towards the sacred grass, with reverence and devotion. Come to us, O bestowers of gifts, and grant us a shelter that cannot be attacked, a refuge that you will protect.

Stanza 6.67.3

ā́ yātam mitrāvaruṇā suśasty úpa priyā́ námasā hūyámānā sáṁ yā́v apna sthó apáseva jánāñ chrudhīyatáś cid yatatho mahitvā́

O Mitra and Varuṇa, come here invited by excellent hymns and beloved reverence. You who are attentive, as if by work, you urge on even those who quickly hear, to exert yourselves with your greatness.

Stanza 6.67.4

Like two swift and vigorous horses, of pure origin, whom Aditi bore in due season. You two, mighty at your birth, established in greatness, brought forth terrible forms against the mortal foe.

Stanza 6.67.5

When all the gods, in joyful harmony, established your dominion. When you two embrace both spacious worlds, your spies are alert and never fallible.

Stanza 6.67.6

For you two sustain dominion through the days, you support the heights like the highest heaven. Like a firm star among all gods, you fill the earth and heaven with food.

Stanza 6.67.7

tā́ vigráṁ dhaithe jaṭháram pr̥ṇádhyā ā́ yát sádma sábhr̥tayaḥ pr̥ṇánti ná mr̥ṣyante yuvatáyó 'vātā ví yát páyo viśvajinvā bhárante

O you two, take the strong drink and fill your bellies, when your attendants fill the dwelling. The young women do not disregard (you), when, quickeners of all, they distribute nourishment.

Stanza 6.67.8

With your tongue, O wise ones, come together to this place. When your truthful envoy, with wisdom, has arrived in order. O you two with ghee as your nourishment, may your greatness exist. Annihilate trouble for the worshipper.

Stanza 6.67.9

prá yád vām mitrāvaruṇā spūrdhán priyā́ dhā́ma yuvádhitā minánti ná yé devā́sa óhasā ná mártā áyajñasāco ápyo ná putrā́ḥ

O Mitra and Varuṇa, when they strive against you and break the beloved laws you have established. Those, neither gods nor men, like sons of Api, do not participate in sacrifices.

Stanza 6.67.10

ví yád vā́caṁ kīstā́so bhárante śáṁsanti ké cin nivído manānā́ḥ ā́d vām bravāma satyā́ny ukthā́ nákir devébhir yatatho mahitvā́

When singers raise their voices and some, with understanding, chant the sacred formulas. Then, may we speak truthful words to you. Do you not rival the gods in greatness?

Stanza 6.67.11

O Mitra and Varuṇa, may your abundant protection come to us. When the cows approach, and when you harness the swift, powerful horse for the battle.
