Like a well-established friend whom the Bhrigus placed in the forest, with upward flames, Agni is revered. You, O wondrous one, are pleased and magnified each day with praises by Vitahavya.

Stanza 6.15.3

He shines with purifying, captivating brilliance, like the light of dawn upon the earth. Moving swiftly, like the swift horse in battle, he is unaging, like one thirsty in the heat.

With fuel and praise, I sing of Agni, kindled, pure, purifying, steadfast before the rite. The wise priest, the best among many, the non-deceitful one, we invoke with blessings.

Stanza 6.15.8

You, Agni, the immortal envoy of the gods, the offering-bearer, the adorable protector, have been established. Gods and mortals alike have placed you, the watchful, all-pervading lord of the home, with reverence.

Stanza 6.15.9

O Agni, adorner of both realms, moving according to their laws, you traverse the two regions as the envoy of the gods. When we choose your favor and thoughtful presence, then become our thrice-protected, benevolent guardian.

Stanza 6.15.10

We, though less knowledgeable, may follow him, the beautifully formed, well-seen, swift one, more knowledgeable than us. May he who knows all wisdom perform the sacrifice, may Agni announce the offering among the immortals.

Stanza 6.15.11

O Agni, do you protect him, do you deliver him who brings you prayer, O Hero? Do you grant insight into the beginning or end of the sacrifice? You indeed fulfill with strength and wealth.

Stanza 6.15.12

O Agni, protect us from those who would harm us. O powerful one, protect us from disgrace. Let protective shelter come upon us; may desirable wealth, in thousands, come to us.

Stanza 6.15.13

O Agni, priest, whatever you enjoy today from the sacrifice, you are the worshipper and performer. You expand with greatness. Carry, O youngest one, your offerings.

Stanza 6.15.15

O fair-faced Agni, sit first with all the gods in the wool-lined nest-like seat, covered with ghee. Lead this sacrifice to Savitar, for the worshipper.

Stanza 6.15.17

The wise ones, as Atharvan did, rub this Agni forth. They brought him, moving through winding ways, not bewildered, from the darkness.

Stanza 6.15.18
