Stanza 5.26.1

अग्ने॑ पावक रो॒चिषा॑ म॒न्द्रया॑ देव जि॒ह्वया॑ | आ दे॒वान्व॑क्षि॒ यक्षि॑ च ||

ágne pāvaka rocíṣā mandráyā deva jihváyā ā́ devā́n vakṣi yákṣi ca

O Agni, you who are pure and radiant, with your divine splendor and your delightful tongue, O god, bring the gods here and perform the sacrifice.

Stanza 5.26.2

तं त्वा॑ घृतस्नवीमहे॒ चित्र॑भानो स्व॒र्दृश॑म् | दे॒वाँ आ वी॒तये॑ वह ||

táṁ tvā ghr̥tasnav īmahe cítrabhāno svardŕ̥śam devā́m̐ ā́ vītáye vaha

We approach you, O Agni, who are bathed in ghee (sacrificial butter), brilliant in light, and have a sun-like appearance. Bring the gods here so that they may feast.

Stanza 5.26.3

वी॒तिहो॑त्रं त्वा कवे द्यु॒मन्तं॒ समि॑धीमहि | अग्ने॑ बृ॒हन्त॑मध्व॒रे ||

vītíhotraṁ tvā kave dyumántaṁ sám idhīmahi ágne br̥hántam adhvaré

O wise Agni, we kindle you, who are the brilliant bestower of feasts, and mighty in the sacrifice.

Stanza 5.26.4

अग्ने॒ विश्वे॑भि॒रा ग॑हि दे॒वेभि॑र्ह॒व्यदा॑तये | होता॑रं त्वा वृणीमहे ||

ágne víśvebhir ā́ gahi devébhir havyádātaye hótāraṁ tvā vr̥ṇīmahe

O Agni, come with all the gods to the offering of the oblation. We choose you as the invoking priest.

Stanza 5.26.5

यज॑मानाय सुन्व॒त आग्ने॑ सु॒वीर्यं॑ वह | दे॒वैरा स॑त्सि ब॒र्हिषि॑ ||

yájamānāya sunvatá ā́gne suvī́ryaṁ vaha devaír ā́ satsi barhíṣi

O Agni, bring heroic strength to the sacrificer who presses the Soma. Sit with the gods on the sacred grass.

Stanza 5.26.6

स॒मि॒धा॒नः स॑हस्रजि॒दग्ने॒ धर्मा॑णि पुष्यसि | दे॒वानां॑ दू॒त उ॒क्थ्यः॑ ||

samidhānáḥ sahasrajid ágne dhármāṇi puṣyasi devā́nāṁ dūtá ukthyàḥ

O Agni, you who are kindled and conquer thousands, you uphold the cosmic laws and are the praiseworthy messenger of the gods.

Stanza 5.26.7

न्य१॒॑ग्निं जा॒तवे॑दसं होत्र॒वाहं॒ यवि॑ष्ठ्यम् | दधा॑ता दे॒वमृ॒त्विज॑म् ||

ny àgníṁ jātávedasaṁ hotravā́haṁ yáviṣṭhyam dádhātā devám r̥tvíjam

Place Agni, the knower of all born beings, the carrier of offerings, the youngest and most vigorous, as the divine priest.

Stanza 5.26.8

प्र य॒ज्ञ ए॑त्वानु॒षग॒द्या दे॒वव्य॑चस्तमः | स्तृ॒णी॒त ब॒र्हिरा॒सदे॑ ||

prá yajñá etv ānuṣág adyā́ devávyacastamaḥ str̥ṇītá barhír āsáde

May the sacrifice, which best encompasses the gods, proceed in due order today. Spread the sacred grass for them to sit upon.

Stanza 5.26.9

एदं म॒रुतो॑ अ॒श्विना॑ मि॒त्रः सी॑दन्तु॒ वरु॑णः | दे॒वासः॒ सर्व॑या वि॒शा ||

édám marúto aśvínā mitráḥ sīdantu váruṇaḥ devā́saḥ sárvayā viśā́

May the Maruts, the Aśvins, Mitra, and Varuṇa sit here, along with the gods and all their followers.
