Stanza 3.16.1
अ॒यम॒ग्निः सु॒वीर्य॒स्येशे॑ म॒हः सौभ॑गस्य | रा॒य ई॑शे स्वप॒त्यस्य॒ गोम॑त॒ ईशे॑ वृत्र॒हथा॑नाम् ||
ayám agníḥ suvī́ryasyéśe maháḥ saúbhagasya rāyá īśe svapatyásya gómata ī́śe vr̥traháthānām
Behold Agni, he's in charge of mighty strength, awesome luck, and abundant wealth! He presides over having many children and lots of cows, and he even controls winning those tough fights!
This verse is a powerful declaration of Agni's supreme authority. It states that Agni is the master of all good things: heroic strength, great fortune, wealth in terms of offspring and cattle, and victory in battles. Agni's dominion is absolute over all these desirable aspects of life.

Hey Maruts and heroes, stick close to this powerful force! He's the one who brings joy and wealth. Together, you and Agni conquer in battles, outsmarting the enemy every single day!
This stanza is an invocation, urging the Maruts (a group of storm gods) and human heroes to stand by and support Agni. It highlights that Agni is the source of prosperity and joy, and that he, along with the Maruts, is instrumental in overcoming enemies in battles and deceiving them.

So, Agni, you who are so giving and powerful, please grant us wealth and heroic strength! You are the most glorious, the highest, blessed with children, healthy, and strong – give these gifts to us!
This verse is a direct plea to Agni, acknowledging his power and generosity. The speaker asks Agni to bestow upon them wealth and the strength of heroes, describing Agni himself with superlatives: the most glorious, supremely exalted, rich in progeny, free from illness, and full of power.

He, the creator, is the one who brought all the worlds into being and is victorious over them! He's the one who makes offerings reach the gods. He works among the gods, supports heroic actions, and is present in the praises of humans!
This verse praises Agni as the ultimate creator and sustainer of the universe. It emphasizes his supreme power, stating he has established all worlds, is victorious over them, orchestrates divine rituals, and is actively present and effective among the gods, in heroic endeavors, and in human praise.

Agni, please don't let us be without sense, without heroic children, or without cows! And you, son of strength, don't let us be disgraced or blamed. Keep all enemies far away from us!
This is a plea to Agni for protection and sustenance. The supplicant implores Agni not to let them fall into states of lacking wisdom or thought, lacking heroic sons, or lacking cattle. They also ask Agni, as the 'son of strength', to keep them safe from disgrace or blame, and to actively drive away all hostile forces and negativity.
