कनि॑क्रदज्ज॒नुषं॑ प्रब्रुवा॒ण इय॑र्ति॒ वाच॑मरि॒तेव॒ नाव॑म् | सु॒म॒ङ्गल॑श्च शकुने॒ भवा॑सि॒ मा त्वा॒ का चि॑दभि॒भा विश्व्या॑ विदत् ||
kánikradaj janúṣam prabruvāṇá íyarti vā́cam aritéva nā́vam sumaṅgálaś ca śakune bhávāsi mā́ tvā kā́ cid abhibhā́ víśvyā vidat
As you loudly cry out, announcing your origins, sending your voice out like a boat steered by a helmsman, O bird, may you be a sign of great good fortune! May no misfortune ever find you from any direction.

mā́ tvā śyená úd vadhīn mā́ suparṇó mā́ tvā vidad íṣumān vīró ástā pítryām ánu pradíśaṁ kánikradat sumaṅgálo bhadravādī́ vadehá
May no falcon harm you, nor eagle, nor any archer with an arrow! Still calling out in the realm of the ancestors, speak here auspiciously, you who bring good news!
