Come on, everyone, sing this brand new song for him, just like the Angirases used to! His incredible power is on full display, and when he got energized by the Soma drink, he powerfully broke open those strongly sealed enclosures, probably holding treasures or cattle.

Stanza 2.17.2

May that divine being be present! He is the one who, from the very beginning, measured out strength, expanded his greatness, and as a hero, defended his body in battles. With his immense power, he even placed the sky upon his head.

You performed your first great heroic deed! You brought forth your power through divine knowledge, and that's when your might was revealed. With your power, enemies, even those in chariots with fast horses, were scattered and fled in various directions.

Then, through his power, he made himself the master of all worlds and grew in strength above them all. He spread the heavens and earth with light, and by skillfully closing up the deep darkness, he brought things together.

With his strength, he made firm the mountains facing east. He directed the downward flow of the waters. He held up the earth, which provides sustenance for all, and with his magic power, he supported the sky, preventing it from falling apart.

Stanza 2.17.6

Like a young woman in her parents' home, I call upon you, Bhaga, from this sacred place. Grant me understanding and bring me a share of prosperity, a portion that will bring joy.

May that rich 'cow' of yours, Indra, now give us a boon in return for our praise! Grant us, your singers, a share of fortune; may it not fail us. Let us speak with pride and full of heroes in the assembly!
