Stanza 10.44.1

आ या॒त्विन्द्रः॒ स्वप॑ति॒र्मदा॑य॒ यो धर्म॑णा तूतुजा॒नस्तुवि॑ष्मान् | प्र॒त्व॒क्षा॒णो अति॒ विश्वा॒ सहां॑स्यपा॒रेण॑ मह॒ता वृष्ण्ये॑न ||

ā́ yātv índraḥ svápatir mádāya yó dhármaṇā tūtujānás túviṣmān pratvakṣāṇó áti víśvā sáhāṁsy apāréṇa mahatā́ vŕ̥ṣṇyena

May Indra, the Lord, come for enjoyment! He who, by law, is triumphant and powerful, and who, with his great, overwhelming strength, surpasses all powers.

Stanza 10.44.2

सु॒ष्ठामा॒ रथः॑ सु॒यमा॒ हरी॑ ते मि॒म्यक्ष॒ वज्रो॑ नृपते॒ गभ॑स्तौ | शीभं॑ राजन्त्सु॒पथा या॑ह्य॒र्वाङ्वर्धा॑म ते प॒पुषो॒ वृष्ण्या॑नि ||

suṣṭhā́mā ráthaḥ suyámā hárī te mimyákṣa vájro nr̥pate gábhastau śī́bhaṁ rājan supáthā́ yāhy arvā́ṅ várdhāma te papúṣo vŕ̥ṣṇyāni

Your chariot is firm, your horses are well-managed; O King, your hands hold the thunderbolt. Come quickly on a good path, O ruler of men; we will increase your powers after you have drunk.

Stanza 10.44.3

एन्द्र॒वाहो॑ नृ॒पतिं॒ वज्र॑बाहुमु॒ग्रमु॒ग्रास॑स्तवि॒षास॑ एनम् | प्रत्व॑क्षसं वृष॒भं स॒त्यशु॑ष्म॒मेम॑स्म॒त्रा स॑ध॒मादो॑ वहन्तु ||

éndravā́ho nr̥pátiṁ vájrabāhum ugrám ugrā́sas taviṣā́sa enam prátvakṣasaṁ vr̥ṣabháṁ satyáśuṣmam ém asmatrā́ sadhamā́do vahantu

May the strong and powerful steeds carry Indra, the Lord of men, the thunderbolt-armed, the mighty one. May they carry him, the bull of true strength, to our shared feast.

Stanza 10.44.4

ए॒वा पतिं॑ द्रोण॒साचं॒ सचे॑तसमू॒र्जः स्क॒म्भं ध॒रुण॒ आ वृ॑षायसे | ओजः॑ कृष्व॒ सं गृ॑भाय॒ त्वे अप्यसो॒ यथा॑ केनि॒पाना॑मि॒नो वृ॒धे ||

evā́ pátiṁ droṇasā́caṁ sácetasam ūrjá skambháṁ dharúṇa ā́ vr̥ṣāyase ójaḥ kr̥ṣva sáṁ gr̥bhāya tvé ápy áso yáthā kenipā́nām inó vr̥dhé

You, Lord, who are the master of nourishment and support, you thrive in abundance. Gather your strength, consolidate your power, and become like the master of the wise for our benefit.

Stanza 10.44.5

गम॑न्न॒स्मे वसू॒न्या हि शंसि॑षं स्वा॒शिषं॒ भर॒मा या॑हि सो॒मिनः॑ | त्वमी॑शिषे॒ सास्मिन्ना स॑त्सि ब॒र्हिष्य॑नाधृ॒ष्या तव॒ पात्रा॑णि॒ धर्म॑णा ||

gámann asmé vásūny ā́ hí śáṁsiṣaṁ svāśíṣam bháram ā́ yāhi somínaḥ tvám īśiṣe sā́smínn ā́ satsi barhíṣy anādhr̥ṣyā́ táva pā́trāṇi dhármaṇā

May treasures come to us. Come to the offerer of the Soma-drink. You have power. Sit on this grass. Your vessels are inviolable by law.

Stanza 10.44.6

पृथ॒क्प्राय॑न्प्रथ॒मा दे॒वहू॑त॒योऽकृ॑ण्वत श्रव॒स्या॑नि दु॒ष्टरा॑ | न ये शे॒कुर्य॒ज्ञियां॒ नाव॑मा॒रुह॑मी॒र्मैव ते न्य॑विशन्त॒ केप॑यः ||

pŕ̥thak prā́yan prathamā́ deváhūtayó 'kr̥ṇvata śravasyāā̀ni duṣṭárā ná yé śekúr yajñíyāṁ nā́vam ārúham īrmaívá té ny àviśanta képayaḥ

The first divine calls went far and brought renown that is hard to surpass. Those who could not ascend the sacrificial ship sank down, trembling and overcome.

Stanza 10.44.7

ए॒वैवापा॒गप॑रे सन्तु दू॒ढ्योऽश्वा॒ येषां॑ दु॒र्युज॑ आयुयु॒ज्रे | इ॒त्था ये प्रागुप॑रे॒ सन्ति॑ दा॒वने॑ पु॒रूणि॒ यत्र॑ व॒युना॑नि॒ भोज॑ना ||

evaívā́pāg ápare santu dūḍhyó 'śvā yéṣāṁ duryúja āyuyujré itthā́ yé prā́g úpare sánti dāváne purū́ṇi yátra vayúnāni bhójanā

May those others, with difficult-to-harness horses, be far away. Here, those who are ready to give stand prepared, by whom many works and provisions are made.

Stanza 10.44.8

गि॒रीँरज्रा॒न्रेज॑मानाँ अधारय॒द्द्यौः क्र॑न्दद॒न्तरि॑क्षाणि कोपयत् | स॒मी॒ची॒ने धि॒षणे॒ वि ष्क॑भायति॒ वृष्णः॑ पी॒त्वा मद॑ उ॒क्थानि॑ शंसति ||

girī́m̐r ájrān réjamānām̐ adhārayad dyaúḥ krandad antárikṣāṇi kopayat samīcīné dhiṣáṇe ví ṣkabhāyati vŕ̥ṣṇaḥ pītvā́ máda ukthā́ni śaṁsati

The sky supported the trembling mountains and plains; Dyaus thundered and made the atmosphere shake. He holds apart the two confronting bowls; having drunk the Soma-juice, he joyfully recites praises.

Stanza 10.44.9

इ॒मं बि॑भर्मि॒ सुकृ॑तं ते अङ्कु॒शं येना॑रु॒जासि॑ मघवञ्छफा॒रुजः॑ | अ॒स्मिन्त्सु ते॒ सव॑ने अस्त्वो॒क्यं॑ सु॒त इ॒ष्टौ म॑घवन्बो॒ध्याभ॑गः ||

imám bibharmi súkr̥taṁ te aṅkuśáṁ yénārujā́si maghavañ chaphārújaḥ asmín sú te sávane astv okyàṁ sutá iṣṭaú maghavan bodhy ā́bhagaḥ

I hold your skillfully made goad, with which, O Maghavan (Indra), you break the leg-striking ones. May your praise be in this sacrifice, O Maghavan; may you be present and receive your share.

Stanza 10.44.10

गोभि॑ष्टरे॒माम॑तिं दु॒रेवां॒ यवे॑न॒ क्षुधं॑ पुरुहूत॒ विश्वा॑म् | व॒यं राज॑भिः प्रथ॒मा धना॑न्य॒स्माके॑न वृ॒जने॑ना जयेम ||

góbhiṣ ṭaremā́matiṁ durévāṁ yávena kṣúdham puruhūta víśvām vayáṁ rā́jabhiḥ prathamā́ dhánāny asmā́kena vr̥jánenā jayema

O Much-invoked one, may we overcome all famine with cattle and grain. May we, along with kings and with our own strength, be the first to win riches.

Stanza 10.44.11

बृह॒स्पति॑र्नः॒ परि॑ पातु प॒श्चादु॒तोत्त॑रस्मा॒दध॑रादघा॒योः | इन्द्रः॑ पु॒रस्ता॑दु॒त म॑ध्य॒तो नः॒ सखा॒ सखि॑भ्यो॒ वरि॑वः कृणोतु ||

bŕ̥haspátir naḥ pári pātu paścā́d utóttarasmād ádharād aghāyóḥ índraḥ purástād utá madhyató naḥ sákhā sákhibhyo várivaḥ kr̥ṇotu

May Brihaspati protect us from behind, from above, and from below, from evil-doers. And may Indra protect us from the front and the middle. May Indra, as a friend to friends, grant us abundance and freedom.
