Stanza 10.31.1
आ नो॑ दे॒वाना॒मुप॑ वेतु॒ शंसो॒ विश्वे॑भिस्तु॒रैरव॑से॒ यज॑त्रः | तेभि॑र्व॒यं सु॑ष॒खायो॑ भवेम॒ तर॑न्तो॒ विश्वा॑ दुरि॒ता स्या॑म ||
ā́ no devā́nām úpa vetu śáṁso víśvebhis turaír ávase yájatraḥ tébhir vayáṁ suṣakhā́yo bhavema táranto víśvā duritā́ syāma
May the invocation of the gods reach us, O venerable one, to help us with all swift succors. With them, may we become good companions, and overcoming all troubles, may we be well.

May a person contemplate wealth and strive to win it, serving with reverence along the path of Order. And may he consult with his own mental power, and grasp a greater strength through his mind.

The hymn has been composed, the portions have been poured out: like arriving at a ford, the desirable ones approach. We have attained the might of comfort; we have become like the immortals.

Like a covering, he moves over the wide earth; like wind disperses mist, he moves. Mitra and Varuna, when energized, and Agni in the forest, have released splendor.

When the barren one suddenly gave birth, she, self-protected, ended her troubles. When the first son was born from the father's parent, the cow swallowed the yoke, that which they sought.
This stanza tells a story of transformation and fulfillment. A cow, previously barren ('starīḥ'), suddenly becomes productive ('sūta'). It overcame its troubles and protected itself. The stanza then shifts to a birth, where the first son is born from his parents, and the Earth ('gauh') seems to have 'swallowed' or brought forth something, perhaps related to what was being sought.

They called the son of Nr̥ishada 'Kanva', and the swift brown horse took the wealth. For him, the dark-colored, shining stream flowed; none made it swell for him.
