शा॒स इ॒त्था म॒हाँ अ॑स्यमित्रखा॒दो अद्भु॑तः | न यस्य॑ ह॒न्यते॒ सखा॒ न जीय॑ते॒ कदा॑ च॒न ||
śāsá itthā́ mahā́m̐ asy amitrakhādó ádbhutaḥ ná yásya hanyáte sákhā ná jī́yate kádā caná
You are indeed a great ruler, O Indra, wondrous and consuming of enemies; your friend is never slain, nor ever defeated.
This verse praises Indra as a great and wondrous leader who governs with authority. He is described as a destroyer of enemies, ensuring that his companions are never defeated or overcome, highlighting his protective and invincible nature.

svastidā́ viśás pátir vr̥trahā́ vimr̥dhó vaśī́ vŕ̥ṣéndraḥ purá etu naḥ somapā́ abhayaṁkaráḥ
May the giver of welfare, the lord of the clan, the slayer of Vritra, the master of the proud, the powerful Indra, the drinker of Soma, the maker of safety, go before us.
This verse invokes Indra as the bestower of well-being, the lord of the people, and the vanquisher of obstacles. He is depicted as powerful, triumphant, and in control. The stanza requests Indra, the drinker of Soma and the creator of safety, to lead the way.

ví rákṣo ví mŕ̥dho jahi ví vr̥trásya hánū ruja ví manyúm indra vr̥trahann amítrasyābhidā́sataḥ
Slay the demons, slay the adversaries, break the jaws of Vritra! O Indra, slayer of Vritra, destroy the wrath of the enemy who attacks us.
This verse is a powerful plea to Indra to vanquish evil forces. It instructs Indra to destroy demons (Rakshasas) and adversaries, to shatter the jaws of the Vritra (a serpent demon), and to quell the anger of the enemy who threatens them.

ví na indra mŕ̥dho jahi nīcā́ yacha pr̥tanyatáḥ yó asmā́m̐ abhidā́saty ádharaṁ gamayā támaḥ
O Indra, slay our adversaries! Hurl down our challengers! Cast the one who attacks us into the nether darkness.
This verse implores Indra to protect the supplicants from their enemies. It asks him to drive away the adversaries, to bring down those who are aggressive towards them, and to cast the attacking enemy into the deepest darkness.

O Indra, turn away the mind of the hateful one, turn away the weapon of the one who desires to conquer us. Give us shelter from anger, and remove the weapon.
This verse continues the invocation to Indra, asking him to dispel the hostile intentions and destructive actions of enemies. It specifically requests him to turn away the enemy's desire to harm and to remove their weapons, providing protection and safety to the devotees.
