Stanza 1.34.1

त्रिश्चि॑न्नो अ॒द्या भ॑वतं नवेदसा वि॒भुर्वां॒ याम॑ उ॒त रा॒तिर॑श्विना | यु॒वोर्हि य॒न्त्रं हि॒म्येव॒ वास॑सोऽभ्यायं॒सेन्या॑ भवतं मनी॒षिभिः॑ ||

tríś cin no adyā́ bhavataṁ navedasā vibhúr vāṁ yā́ma utá rātír aśvinā yuvór hí yantráṁ himyéva vā́saso 'bhyāyaṁsényā bhavatam manīṣíbhiḥ

Oh, Ashvins, be with us today, not just once, but three times! Your reach is immense, and your generosity flows freely. We cling to you like a warm cloak in winter, seeking your presence through our wisdom and devotion.

Stanza 1.34.2

त्रयः॑ प॒वयो॑ मधु॒वाह॑ने॒ रथे॒ सोम॑स्य वे॒नामनु॒ विश्व॒ इद्वि॑दुः | त्रयः॑ स्क॒म्भासः॑ स्कभि॒तास॑ आ॒रभे॒ त्रिर्नक्तं॑ या॒थस्त्रिर्व॑श्विना॒ दिवा॑ ||

tráyaḥ paváyo madhuvā́hane ráthe sómasya venā́m ánu víśva íd viduḥ tráya skambhā́sa skabhitā́sa ārábhe trír náktaṁ yāthás trír v aśvinā dívā

Your honey-sweet chariot has three wheel-rims, and it follows closely after Soma's beloved! It's supported by three strong pillars. You journey tirelessly, Ashvins, three times by night and three times by day.

Stanza 1.34.3

स॒मा॒ने अह॒न्त्रिर॑वद्यगोहना॒ त्रिर॒द्य य॒ज्ञं मधु॑ना मिमिक्षतम् | त्रिर्वाज॑वती॒रिषो॑ अश्विना यु॒वं दो॒षा अ॒स्मभ्य॑मु॒षस॑श्च पिन्वतम् ||

samāné áhan trír avadyagohanā trír adyá yajñám mádhunā mimikṣatam trír vā́javatīr íṣo aśvinā yuváṁ doṣā́ asmábhyam uṣásaś ca pinvatam

On this same day, oh you who remove all obstacles, thrice sprinkle our offering with sweetness! And thrice, Ashvins, give us strength-filled food, in the evening and at dawn.

Stanza 1.34.4

त्रिर्व॒र्तिर्या॑तं॒ त्रिरनु॑व्रते ज॒ने त्रिः सु॑प्रा॒व्ये॑ त्रे॒धेव॑ शिक्षतम् | त्रिर्ना॒न्द्यं॑ वहतमश्विना यु॒वं त्रिः पृक्षो॑ अ॒स्मे अ॒क्षरे॑व पिन्वतम् ||

trír vartír yātaṁ trír ánuvrate jané tríḥ suprāvyè tredhéva śikṣatam trír nāndyàṁ vahatam aśvinā yuváṁ tríḥ pŕ̥kṣo asmé akṣáreva pinvatam

Come thrice to our home, thrice to our people! Help us, triply and in three ways! Ashvins, bring us joy thrice, and thrice give us food that never runs out.

Stanza 1.34.5

त्रिर्नो॑ र॒यिं व॑हतमश्विना यु॒वं त्रिर्दे॒वता॑ता॒ त्रिरु॒ताव॑तं॒ धियः॑ | त्रिः सौ॑भग॒त्वं त्रिरु॒त श्रवां॑सि नस्त्रि॒ष्ठं वां॒ सूरे॑ दुहि॒ता रु॑ह॒द्रथ॑म् ||

trír no rayíṁ vahatam aśvinā yuváṁ trír devátātā trír utā́vataṁ dhíyaḥ tríḥ saubhagatváṁ trír utá śrávāṁsi nas triṣṭháṁ vāṁ sū́re duhitā́ ruhad rátham

Ashvins, bring us wealth thrice, and with good offspring! Be with us thrice in the divine gathering, and thrice guide our thoughts. Grant us prosperity and fame thrice, as the Sun's daughter rides your three-wheeled chariot.

Stanza 1.34.6

त्रिर्नो॑ अश्विना दि॒व्यानि॑ भेष॒जा त्रिः पार्थि॑वानि॒ त्रिरु॑ दत्तम॒द्भ्यः | ओ॒मानं॑ शं॒योर्मम॑काय सू॒नवे॑ त्रि॒धातु॒ शर्म॑ वहतं शुभस्पती ||

trír no aśvinā divyā́ni bheṣajā́ tríḥ pā́rthivāni trír u dattam adbhyáḥ omā́naṁ śaṁyór mámakāya sūnáve tridhā́tu śárma vahataṁ śubhas patī

Ashvins, grant us thrice the heavenly medicines, thrice those from the earth, and thrice from the waters. Protect and give well-being to my son, bringing him triple shelter.

Stanza 1.34.7

त्रिर्नो॑ अश्विना यज॒ता दि॒वेदि॑वे॒ परि॑ त्रि॒धातु॑ पृथि॒वीम॑शायतम् | ति॒स्रो ना॑सत्या रथ्या परा॒वत॑ आ॒त्मेव॒ वातः॒ स्वस॑राणि गच्छतम् ||

trír no aśvinā yajatā́ divé-dive pári tridhā́tu pr̥thivī́m aśāyatam tisró nāsatyā rathyā parāváta ātméva vā́taḥ svásarāṇi gachatam

We worship you thrice daily, Ashvins, and you travel around the earth thrice. Like the wind, you come swiftly from afar in your chariots, reaching us in three ways.

Stanza 1.34.8

त्रिर॑श्विना॒ सिन्धु॑भिः स॒प्तमा॑तृभि॒स्त्रय॑ आहा॒वास्त्रे॒धा ह॒विष्कृ॒तम् | ति॒स्रः पृ॑थि॒वीरु॒परि॑ प्र॒वा दि॒वो नाकं॑ रक्षेथे॒ द्युभि॑र॒क्तुभि॑र्हि॒तम् ||

trír aśvinā síndhubhiḥ saptámātr̥bhis tráya āhāvā́s tredhā́ havíṣ kr̥tám tisráḥ pr̥thivī́r upári pravā́ divó nā́kaṁ rakṣethe dyúbhir aktúbhir hitám

Ashvins, with the seven mother streams, and three jars for the triple offering! You traverse the three earths and guard the sky's vault with your divine light, day and night.

Stanza 1.34.9

क्व१॒॑ त्री च॒क्रा त्रि॒वृतो॒ रथ॑स्य॒ क्व१॒॑ त्रयो॑ व॒न्धुरो॒ ये सनी॑ळाः | क॒दा योगो॑ वा॒जिनो॒ रास॑भस्य॒ येन॑ य॒ज्ञं ना॑सत्योपया॒थः ||

kvà trī́ cakrā́ trivŕ̥to ráthasya kvà tráyo vandhúro yé sánīḷāḥ kadā́ yógo vājíno rā́sabhasya yéna yajñáṁ nāsatyopayātháḥ

Where are the three wheels of your triple chariot? Where are its three firmly attached seats? Ashvins, when will you yoke your powerful steeds to come to our sacrifice?

Stanza 1.34.10

आ ना॑सत्या॒ गच्छ॑तं हू॒यते॑ ह॒विर्मध्वः॑ पिबतं मधु॒पेभि॑रा॒सभिः॑ | यु॒वोर्हि पूर्वं॑ सवि॒तोषसो॒ रथ॑मृ॒ताय॑ चि॒त्रं घृ॒तव॑न्त॒मिष्य॑ति ||

ā́ nāsatyā gáchataṁ hūyáte havír mádhvaḥ pibatam madhupébhir āsábhiḥ yuvór hí pū́rvaṁ savitóṣáso rátham r̥tā́ya citráṁ ghr̥távantam íṣyati

Nāsatyas, come! The offering is being made. Drink the sweet nectar with your sweet mouths. Before dawn, Savitar sends your colorful, ghee-laden chariot for the ritual.

Stanza 1.34.11

आ ना॑सत्या त्रि॒भिरे॑काद॒शैरि॒ह दे॒वेभि॑र्यातं मधु॒पेय॑मश्विना | प्रायु॒स्तारि॑ष्टं॒ नी रपां॑सि मृक्षतं॒ सेध॑तं॒ द्वेषो॒ भव॑तं सचा॒भुवा॑ ||

ā́ nāsatyā tribhír ekādaśaír ihá devébhir yātam madhupéyam aśvinā prā́yus tā́riṣṭaṁ nī́ rápāṁsi mr̥kṣataṁ sédhataṁ dvéṣo bhávataṁ sacābhúvā

Ashvins, come with the eleven Rudras and other gods to drink the sweet nectar! Extend our lives, cleanse us of sins, drive away hatred, and be our ever-present companions.

Stanza 1.34.12

आ नो॑ अश्विना त्रि॒वृता॒ रथे॑ना॒र्वाञ्चं॑ र॒यिं व॑हतं सु॒वीर॑म् | शृ॒ण्वन्ता॑ वा॒मव॑से जोहवीमि वृ॒धे च॑ नो भवतं॒ वाज॑सातौ ||

ā́ no aśvinā trivŕ̥tā ráthenārvā́ñcaṁ rayíṁ vahataṁ suvī́ram śr̥ṇvántā vām ávase johavīmi vr̥dhé ca no bhavataṁ vā́jasātau

Ashvins, come in your triple chariot and bring us wealth and strong descendants! I call to you, who hear, for protection. Help us to win the prize!
