Stanza 1.175.1

मत्स्यपा॑यि ते॒ महः॒ पात्र॑स्येव हरिवो मत्स॒रो मदः॑ | वृषा॑ ते॒ वृष्ण॒ इन्दु॑र्वा॒जी स॑हस्र॒सात॑मः ||

mátsy ápāyi te máhaḥ pā́trasyeva harivo matsaró mádaḥ vŕ̥ṣā te vŕ̥ṣṇa índur vājī́ sahasrasā́tamaḥ

Oh, Lord with the bay horses, we delight in your greatness! It's like we're drinking from a grand cup, and you, the strong one, have a powerful, intoxicating essence. You are the mighty bull, the energetic one, the ultimate winner!

Stanza 1.175.2

आ न॑स्ते गन्तु मत्स॒रो वृषा॒ मदो॒ वरे॑ण्यः | स॒हावाँ॑ इन्द्र सान॒सिः पृ॑तना॒षाळम॑र्त्यः ||

ā́ nas te gantu matsaró vŕ̥ṣā mádo váreṇyaḥ sahā́vām̐ indra sānasíḥ pr̥tanāṣā́ḷ ámartyaḥ

May the exhilarating, strong, and most desirable essence come to you, Indra! You are powerful, a winner, a conqueror of battles, and immortal!

Stanza 1.175.3

त्वं हि शूरः॒ सनि॑ता चो॒दयो॒ मनु॑षो॒ रथ॑म् | स॒हावा॒न्दस्यु॑मव्र॒तमोषः॒ पात्रं॒ न शो॒चिषा॑ ||

tváṁ hí śū́raḥ sánitā codáyo mánuṣo rátham sahā́vān dásyum avratám óṣaḥ pā́traṁ ná śocíṣā

You, O Hero and winner, propel man's chariot! You have the power, like a flame consuming a vessel, to destroy the godless Dasyu!

Stanza 1.175.4

मु॒षा॒य सूर्यं॑ कवे च॒क्रमीशा॑न॒ ओज॑सा | वह॒ शुष्णा॑य व॒धं कुत्सं॒ वात॒स्याश्वैः॑ ||

muṣāyá sū́ryaṁ kave cakrám ī́śāna ójasā váha śúṣṇāya vadháṁ kútsaṁ vā́tasyā́śvaiḥ

O Sage, with your power, you seized the sun's chariot wheel! You carried Kutsa with the wind's horses to bring death to Shushna!

Stanza 1.175.5

शु॒ष्मिन्त॑मो॒ हि ते॒ मदो॑ द्यु॒म्निन्त॑म उ॒त क्रतुः॑ | वृ॒त्र॒घ्ना व॑रिवो॒विदा॑ मंसी॒ष्ठा अ॑श्व॒सात॑मः ||

śuṣmíntamo hí te mádo dyumníntama utá krátuḥ vr̥traghnā́ varivovídā maṁsīṣṭhā́ aśvasā́tamaḥ

Indeed, your power is the most mighty, your glory the most splendid! You, the slayer of Vritra, the giver of bliss, are the best at winning horses!

Stanza 1.175.6

यथा॒ पूर्वे॑भ्यो जरि॒तृभ्य॑ इन्द्र॒ मय॑ इ॒वापो॒ न तृष्य॑ते ब॒भूथ॑ | तामनु॑ त्वा नि॒विदं॑ जोहवीमि वि॒द्यामे॒षं वृ॒जनं॑ जी॒रदा॑नुम् ||

yáthā pū́rvebhyo jaritŕ̥bhya indra máya ivā́po ná tŕ̥ṣyate babhū́tha tā́m ánu tvā nivídaṁ johavīmi vidyā́meṣáṁ vr̥jánaṁ jīrádānum

Just as you were joy to the ancient singers, and like water to the thirsty, O Indra, so I call to you now! May we find abundant nourishment and prosperity!
