Stanza 9.82.1

असा॑वि॒ सोमो॑ अरु॒षो वृषा॒ हरी॒ राजे॑व द॒स्मो अ॒भि गा अ॑चिक्रदत् | पु॒ना॒नो वारं॒ पर्ये॑त्य॒व्ययं॑ श्ये॒नो न योनिं॑ घृ॒तव॑न्तमा॒सद॑म् ||

ásāvi sómo aruṣó vŕ̥ṣā hárī rā́jeva dasmó abhí gā́ acikradat punānó vā́ram páry ety avyáyaṁ śyenó ná yóniṁ ghr̥távantam āsádam

The Soma-juice, reddish and strong like a bull, has been pressed. The wonderful essence has roared towards the cattle. Being purified, it moves through the filtering wool, settling like a hawk upon the ghee-anointed seat.

Stanza 9.82.2

क॒विर्वे॑ध॒स्या पर्ये॑षि॒ माहि॑न॒मत्यो॒ न मृ॒ष्टो अ॒भि वाज॑मर्षसि | अ॒प॒सेध॑न्दुरि॒ता सो॑म मृळय घृ॒तं वसा॑नः॒ परि॑ यासि नि॒र्णिज॑म् ||

kavír vedhasyā́ páry eṣi mā́hinam átyo ná mr̥ṣṭó abhí vā́jam arṣasi apasédhan duritā́ soma mr̥ḷaya ghr̥táṁ vásānaḥ pári yāsi nirṇíjam

O wise one, with your skill, you move towards greatness. Like a groomed horse, you rush forward to the prize. O Soma, driving away misfortunes, be gracious; you move, clothed in ghee, towards a radiant state.

Stanza 9.82.3

प॒र्जन्यः॑ पि॒ता म॑हि॒षस्य॑ प॒र्णिनो॒ नाभा॑ पृथि॒व्या गि॒रिषु॒ क्षयं॑ दधे | स्वसा॑र॒ आपो॑ अ॒भि गा उ॒तास॑र॒न्त्सं ग्राव॑भिर्नसते वी॒ते अ॑ध्व॒रे ||

parjányaḥ pitā́ mahiṣásya parṇíno nā́bhā pr̥thivyā́ giríṣu kṣáyaṁ dadhe svásāra ā́po abhí gā́ utā́saran sáṁ grā́vabhir nasate vīté adhvaré

Parjanya is the father of the Mighty Bird; he established his dwelling in the mountains and in the earth's core. The sister-waters have flowed towards the cattle. He joins with the pressing stones in the cherished ceremony.

Stanza 9.82.4

जा॒येव॒ पत्या॒वधि॒ शेव॑ मंहसे॒ पज्रा॑या गर्भ शृणु॒हि ब्रवी॑मि ते | अ॒न्तर्वाणी॑षु॒ प्र च॑रा॒ सु जी॒वसे॑ऽनि॒न्द्यो वृ॒जने॑ सोम जागृहि ||

jāyéva pátyāv ádhi śéva maṁhase pájrāyā garbha śr̥ṇuhí brávīmi te antár vā́ṇīṣu prá carā sú jīváse 'nindyó vr̥jáne soma jāgr̥hi

Like a wife delighting her husband, you are pleasant. Listen, O Child of Pajri, I tell you this. Move forward within the chants for a good life. O Soma, in trouble, be watchful and free from blame.

Stanza 9.82.5

यथा॒ पूर्वे॑भ्यः शत॒सा अमृ॑ध्रः सहस्र॒साः प॒र्यया॒ वाज॑मिन्दो | ए॒वा प॑वस्व सुवि॒ताय॒ नव्य॑से॒ तव॑ व्र॒तमन्वापः॑ सचन्ते ||

yáthā pū́rvebhyaḥ śatasā́ ámr̥dhraḥ sahasrasā́ḥ paryáyā vā́jam indo evā́ pavasva suvitā́ya návyase táva vratám ánv ā́paḥ sacante

As you aided the ancients, winning hundreds and thousands, O Indu, so now flow for new prosperity. The waters follow, adhering to your law.
