This verse depicts the Soma as a divine warrior preparing for battle. It takes up its "weapons" (perhaps symbolic of its potent qualities) in its hands, aiming to win "light" (understanding, clarity, or victory) in contests for cows (representing wealth or sustenance). This Soma, described as charioteer-like and propelled by skilled individuals and sages, invigorates Indra's power and is refined by wise men.

The Soma is then invoked to flow for Indra, being the most exhilarating, so that with its help, the devotees can achieve victory in assemblies or battles.
