They purify the golden Soma. It is yoked like a reddish horse. Soma is mixed with milk in a jar. It sends forth its voice and inspires the minds of many beloved followers of the widely praised one.
This verse describes the ritual preparation of Soma, the sacred intoxicating drink. The "gold-hued" (Soma) is being purified, and it is being mixed with milk in a vessel. The Soma then "speaks" or releases its essence, attracting many devoted followers who are eager to partake in its intoxicating and divine properties. The phrase "puruṣṭutásya káticit paripriyaḥ" suggests that even a few of those dearly loved by the widely praised deity (Indra, to whom Soma is offered) are eager for it.

Wise individuals (manīṣíṇaḥ) are collectively praising Soma and Indra. They speak in unison about pouring Soma into Indra's stomach (representing his divine essence or power). This act is further described by skilled men (sugabhastayaḥ naraḥ) who are carefully preparing Soma with ten specific components or methods, referred to as 'sáníḷābhiḥ daśábhiḥ' (joined together by ten), to create a delightful offering.

Unresting, it goes towards the cows, over the sound beloved by Surya's daughter. The falcon brought it for its own delight. Now it dwells with the twofold sisters and kin.
The Soma, described as "unresting" (aramamāṇaḥ) and having the form of a falcon (vinangr̥sáḥ), moves forward towards the cows (gā́ḥ - possibly representing nourishment or the essence of life). It passes over the roaring sound (rávam) that the daughter of Surya (Sūryasya duhituh - likely referring to dawn or a celestial entity) favors. The falcon-Soma brought this delight (jóṣam abharat) for itself, and now resides with the two paired sisters (dvayī́bhiḥ svásr̥bhiḥ - perhaps the two morning dawns or two vessels) and the related ones (jāmíbhiḥ).

This verse extols the Soma, described as "washed by men" (nŕ̥dhūtaḥ) and "pressed by stones" (ádriṣutaḥ). It is considered dear and timely (r̥tvíyaḥ) on the sacred grass (barhíṣi), the Lord of cows (pátiḥ gávām) from ancient times (pradívaḥ). As the bright Indu (índuḥ śúciḥ), it is a purifier (yajñasā́dhanaḥ) that completes sacrifices for mankind (mánuṣaḥ). The purified Soma flows for Indra (indra te), aided by mental contemplation (dhiyā́).

Soma is described as being "urged by the arms of men" (nŕ̥bāhúbhyām coditáḥ) and "poured in streams" (dhā́rayā sutáḥ). It flows according to the divine order (anuṣvadhám) for Indra. The verse states that Soma has "filled" (ā́ aprāḥ) and "conquered" (sám ajaiḥ) intentions or plans (krátūn) in the sacrifice (adhvaré), and has also gathered thoughts (matī́ḥ). The golden Soma (háriḥ) sits in the twin bowls (camvòḥ) like a bird settling down (asadat), ready to be consumed.

Skilled and intelligent sages (kaváyaḥ manīṣíṇaḥ apásaḥ) are processing the Soma stalk (aṃśúm), which is described as "roaring" (stanáyantam), "uninjured" (ákṣitam), and wise (kavím). They extract its essence, which is then joined (sám ī yanti) by the Cows (gā́vaḥ - perhaps representing streams of nourishment or Soma itself) and thoughts/hymns (matáyaḥ).
