Stanza 9.5.1

समि॑द्धो वि॒श्वत॒स्पतिः॒ पव॑मानो॒ वि रा॑जति | प्री॒णन्वृषा॒ कनि॑क्रदत् ||

sámiddho viśvátas pátiḥ pávamāno ví rājati prīṇán vŕ̥ṣā kánikradat

The enkindled Soma juice, the lord of all, shines forth everywhere. The strong Soma, joyful and roaring, delights (us).

Stanza 9.5.2

तनू॒नपा॒त्पव॑मानः॒ शृङ्गे॒ शिशा॑नो अर्षति | अ॒न्तरि॑क्षेण॒ रार॑जत् ||

tánūnápāt pávamānaḥ śŕ̥ṅge śíśāno arṣati antárikṣeṇa rā́rajat

The self-born, purifying Soma flows onward, sharpening its horns. It glitters through the atmosphere.

Stanza 9.5.3

ई॒ळेन्यः॒ पव॑मानो र॒यिर्वि रा॑जति द्यु॒मान् | मधो॒र्धारा॑भि॒रोज॑सा ||

īḷényaḥ pávamāno rayír ví rājati dyumā́n mádhor dhā́rābhir ójasā

Adorable and brilliant like wealth, the purifying Soma shines with splendor and might, with streams of mead.

Stanza 9.5.4

ब॒र्हिः प्रा॒चीन॒मोज॑सा॒ पव॑मानः स्तृ॒णन्हरिः॑ | दे॒वेषु॑ दे॒व ई॑यते ||

barhíḥ prācī́nam ójasā pávamāna str̥ṇán háriḥ devéṣu devá īyate

With might, the purifying Soma spreads the ancient sacred grass. That God, like a God among gods, moves.

Stanza 9.5.5

उदातै॑र्जिहते बृ॒हद्द्वारो॑ दे॒वीर्हि॑र॒ण्ययीः॑ | पव॑मानेन॒ सुष्टु॑ताः ||

úd ā́tair jihate br̥hád dvā́ro devī́r hiraṇyáyīḥ pávamānena súṣṭutāḥ

The great, golden, divine doors are lifted up. Glorified by the purifying Soma, they are well-made.

Stanza 9.5.6

सु॒शि॒ल्पे बृ॑ह॒ती म॒ही पव॑मानो वृषण्यति | नक्तो॒षासा॒ न द॑र्श॒ते ||

suśilpé br̥hatī́ mahī́ pávamāno vr̥ṣaṇyati náktoṣā́sā ná darśaté

The purifying Soma, the strong one, moves with desire. Like the well-formed, great, and mighty Night and Dawn, they appear.

Stanza 9.5.7

उ॒भा दे॒वा नृ॒चक्ष॑सा॒ होता॑रा॒ दैव्या॑ हुवे | पव॑मान॒ इन्द्रो॒ वृषा॑ ||

ubhā́ devā́ nr̥cákṣasā hótārā daívyā huve pávamāna índro vŕ̥ṣā

I call the two divine priests, who see men. Pavamana is Indra, the bull.

Stanza 9.5.8

भार॑ती॒ पव॑मानस्य॒ सर॑स्व॒तीळा॑ म॒ही | इ॒मं नो॑ य॒ज्ञमा ग॑मन्ति॒स्रो दे॒वीः सु॒पेश॑सः ||

bhā́ratī pávamānasya sárasvatī́ḷā mahī́ imáṁ no yajñám ā́ gaman tisró devī́ḥ supéśasaḥ

Bharti, Sarasvati, and Ila, the three great, beautiful goddesses, come to this sacrifice of the purifying Soma.

Stanza 9.5.9

त्वष्टा॑रमग्र॒जां गो॒पां पु॑रो॒यावा॑न॒मा हु॑वे | इन्दु॒रिन्द्रो॒ वृषा॒ हरिः॒ पव॑मानः प्र॒जाप॑तिः ||

tváṣṭāram agrajā́ṁ gopā́m puroyā́vānam ā́ huve índur índro vŕ̥ṣā háriḥ pávamānaḥ prajā́patiḥ

I call Tvastr, the first-born protector, the leader. Soma is Indu, Indra the bull; Pavamana is Prajapati.

Stanza 9.5.10

वन॒स्पतिं॑ पवमान॒ मध्वा॒ सम॑ङ्ग्धि॒ धार॑या | स॒हस्र॑वल्शं॒ हरि॑तं॒ भ्राज॑मानं हिर॒ण्यय॑म् ||

vánaspátim pavamāna mádhvā sám aṅgdhi dhā́rayā sahásravalśaṁ háritam bhrā́jamānaṁ hiraṇyáyam

O Pavamana, anoint Vanaspati with mead and streams. The golden, shining tree with a thousand branches.

Stanza 9.5.11

विश्वे॑ देवाः॒ स्वाहा॑कृतिं॒ पव॑मान॒स्या ग॑त | वा॒युर्बृह॒स्पतिः॒ सूर्यो॒ऽग्निरिन्द्रः॑ स॒जोष॑सः ||

víśve devāḥ svā́hākr̥tim pávamānasyā́ gata vāyúr bŕ̥haspátiḥ sū́ryo 'gnír índraḥ sajóṣasaḥ

All the Gods, Vayu, Brihaspati, Surya, Agni, Indra, come together with joy to the consecrating rite of the purifying Soma.
