प्र सोमा॑सो मद॒च्युतः॒ श्रव॑से नो म॒घोनः॑ | सु॒ता वि॒दथे॑ अक्रमुः ||
prá sómāso madacyútaḥ śrávase no maghónaḥ sutā́ vidáthe akramuḥ
The exhilarating Soma juices, prepared for us generous patrons, have flowed into the assembly for glory.
The Soma-juices, flowing and intoxicating, have been pressed and prepared in our assembly for the purpose of bestowing glory upon us. They are presented to us, the wealthy patrons, to enhance our renown.

ā́d īṁ tritásya yóṣaṇo háriṁ hinvanty ádribhiḥ índum índrāya pītáye
Now, propelled by the pressing stones, the women of Trita drive the tawny Soma for Indra to drink.

आदीं॑ हं॒सो यथा॑ ग॒णं विश्व॑स्यावीवशन्म॒तिम् | अत्यो॒ न गोभि॑रज्यते ||
ā́d īṁ haṁsó yáthā gaṇáṁ víśvasyāvīvaśan matím átyo ná góbhir ajyate
Like a swan, it causes the whole assembly to sing their hymns; like a horse, it is bathed with milk.

O Soma, you have surveyed both, and you run like a swift deer, settling into the place of the ritual order.

abhí gā́vo anūṣata yóṣā jārám iva priyám ágann ājíṁ yáthā hitám
The cows have sung with joy to him, as a woman to her beloved lover; he has come to the prepared race.
The cows (representing nourishment or the flow of Soma) have sung praises to the Soma. It is likened to a woman eagerly approaching her beloved lover, and it has arrived at its destined place like a well-prepared chariot race.

The poet implores the Soma to bestow upon them, the patrons, and himself, radiant fame, intelligence, and glory. This is a plea for divine favor and the gifts that come with it.
