    Stanza 9.104.1

    सखा॑य॒ आ नि षी॑दत पुना॒नाय॒ प्र गा॑यत | शिशुं॒ न य॒ज्ञैः परि॑ भूषत श्रि॒ये ||

    sákhāya ā́ ní ṣīdata punānā́ya prá gāyata śíśuṁ ná yajñaíḥ pári bhūṣata śriyé

    O friends, sit down and sing aloud for the one being purified. Adorn him with sacred rites, just as one adorns a child, for glory.

    Stanza 9.104.2

    समी॑ व॒त्सं न मा॒तृभिः॑ सृ॒जता॑ गय॒साध॑नम् | दे॒वा॒व्यं१॒॑ मद॑म॒भि द्विश॑वसम् ||

    sám ī vatsáṁ ná mātŕ̥bhiḥ sr̥játā gayasā́dhanam devāvyàm mádam abhí dvíśavasam

    Unite him, who brings household wealth and has double strength, and is devoted to the gods, like a calf with its mothers.

    Stanza 9.104.3

    पु॒नाता॑ दक्ष॒साध॑नं॒ यथा॒ शर्धा॑य वी॒तये॑ | यथा॑ मि॒त्राय॒ वरु॑णाय॒ शंत॑मः ||

    punā́tā dakṣasā́dhanaṁ yáthā śárdhāya vītáye yáthā mitrā́ya váruṇāya śáṁtamaḥ

    Purify him, who is capable of strength, so that he may be a banquet for the divine troop, for sustenance, and for Mitra and Varuna, the most auspicious one.

    Stanza 9.104.4

    अ॒स्मभ्यं॑ त्वा वसु॒विद॑म॒भि वाणी॑रनूषत | गोभि॑ष्टे॒ वर्ण॑म॒भि वा॑सयामसि ||

    asmábhyaṁ tvā vasuvídam abhí vā́ṇīr anūṣata góbhiṣ ṭe várṇam abhí vāsayāmasi

    Voices have sung to you, the revealer of wealth for us. We will adorn your form with milk, as if with a robe.

    Stanza 9.104.5

    स नो॑ मदानां पत॒ इन्दो॑ दे॒वप्स॑रा असि | सखे॑व॒ सख्ये॑ गातु॒वित्त॑मो भव ||

    sá no madānām pata índo devápsarā asi sákheva sákhye gātuvíttamo bhava

    You, O Indu, are the lord of joyous drinks and esteemed by the gods. Like a friend to a friend, be the best guide to success for us.

    Stanza 9.104.6

    सने॑मि कृ॒ध्य१॒॑स्मदा र॒क्षसं॒ कं चि॑द॒त्रिण॑म् | अपादे॑वं द्व॒युमंहो॑ युयोधि नः ||

    sánemi kr̥dhy àsmád ā́ rakṣásaṁ káṁ cid atríṇam ápā́devaṁ dvayúm áṁho yuyodhi naḥ

    Drive away from us every demon, every consuming enemy, the godless, and the wicked one. Separate us from sorrow.
