Stanza 8.99.1

त्वामि॒दा ह्यो नरोऽपी॑प्यन्वज्रि॒न्भूर्ण॑यः | स इ॑न्द्र॒ स्तोम॑वाहसामि॒ह श्रु॒ध्युप॒ स्वस॑र॒मा ग॑हि ||

tvā́m idā́ hyó náró 'pīpyan vajrin bhū́rṇayaḥ sá indra stómavāhasām ihá śrudhy úpa svásaram ā́ gahi

O Indra, wielder of the thunderbolt, the devoted people poured you offerings yesterday. So, Indra, listen to us who bring you hymns of praise. Come near to our dwelling.

Stanza 8.99.2

मत्स्वा॑ सुशिप्र हरिव॒स्तदी॑महे॒ त्वे आ भू॑षन्ति वे॒धसः॑ | तव॒ श्रवां॑स्युप॒मान्यु॒क्थ्या॑ सु॒तेष्वि॑न्द्र गिर्वणः ||

mátsvā suśipra harivas tád īmahe tvé ā́ bhūṣanti vedhásaḥ táva śrávāṁsy upamā́ny ukthyāā̀ sutéṣv indra girvaṇaḥ

Rejoice, O fair-faced Indra, possessor of bay horses! We desire this. The sages attend to you; your glories are adorned in the ritual drinks. O Indra, praised by hymns, come to our libations.

Stanza 8.99.3

श्राय॑न्त इव॒ सूर्यं॒ विश्वेदिन्द्र॑स्य भक्षत | वसू॑नि जा॒ते जन॑मान॒ ओज॑सा॒ प्रति॑ भा॒गं न दी॑धिम ||

śrā́yanta iva sū́ryaṁ víśvéd índrasya bhakṣata vásūni jāté jánamāna ójasā práti bhāgáṁ ná dīdhima

Turning as if towards the sun, all enjoy Indra's wealth. When one is born with might, we behold it as a share. They are not inactive with power; we have recognized them like a share.

Stanza 8.99.4

अन॑र्शरातिं वसु॒दामुप॑ स्तुहि भ॒द्रा इन्द्र॑स्य रा॒तयः॑ | सो अ॑स्य॒ कामं॑ विध॒तो न रो॑षति॒ मनो॑ दा॒नाय॑ चो॒दय॑न् ||

ánarśarātiṁ vasudā́m úpa stuhi bhadrā́ índrasya rātáyaḥ só asya kā́maṁ vidható ná roṣati máno dānā́ya codáyan

Praise the wealth-giver, who is not stingy. Indra's gifts are beneficial. He does not get angry with those who fulfill his desires; he directs his mind to giving.

Stanza 8.99.5

त्वमि॑न्द्र॒ प्रतू॑र्तिष्व॒भि विश्वा॑ असि॒ स्पृधः॑ | अ॒श॒स्ति॒हा ज॑नि॒ता वि॑श्व॒तूर॑सि॒ त्वं तू॑र्य तरुष्य॒तः ||

tvám indra prátūrtiṣv abhí víśvā asi spŕ̥dhaḥ aśastihā́ janitā́ viśvatū́r asi tváṁ tūrya taruṣyatáḥ

You, Indra, in your battles are the conqueror of all rivals. You are the destroyer of misfortune, the progenitor, the all-conquering one. You yourself are the victory over the conqueror.

Stanza 8.99.6

अनु॑ ते॒ शुष्मं॑ तु॒रय॑न्तमीयतुः क्षो॒णी शिशुं॒ न मा॒तरा॑ | विश्वा॑स्ते॒ स्पृधः॑ श्नथयन्त म॒न्यवे॑ वृ॒त्रं यदि॑न्द्र॒ तूर्व॑सि ||

ánu te śúṣmaṁ turáyantam īyatuḥ kṣoṇī́ śíśuṁ ná mātárā víśvās te spŕ̥dhaḥ śnathayanta manyáve vr̥tráṁ yád indra tū́rvasi

The Earth and Heaven followed your accelerating might like mothers follow a calf. When you attack Vritra, do all adversaries grow weak before your wrath, Indra?

Stanza 8.99.7

इ॒त ऊ॒ती वो॑ अ॒जरं॑ प्रहे॒तार॒मप्र॑हितम् | आ॒शुं जेता॑रं॒ हेता॑रं र॒थीत॑म॒मतू॑र्तं तुग्र्या॒वृध॑म् ||

itá ūtī́ vo ajáram prahetā́ram áprahitam āśúṁ jétāraṁ hétāraṁ rathī́tamam átūrtaṁ tugryāvŕ̥dham

Bring to your aid the eternal one, the one who shoots and is not shot at. The swift conqueror, the hurler, the best of charioteers, the unvanquished, the strengthener of Tugrya.

Stanza 8.99.8

इ॒ष्क॒र्तार॒मनि॑ष्कृतं॒ सह॑स्कृतं श॒तमू॑तिं श॒तक्र॑तुम् | स॒मा॒नमिन्द्र॒मव॑से हवामहे॒ वस॑वानं वसू॒जुव॑म् ||

iṣkartā́ram ániṣkr̥taṁ sáhaskr̥taṁ śatámūtiṁ śatákratum samānám índram ávase havāmahe vásavānaṁ vasūjúvam

We invoke Indra, the arranger of the unarranged, the unhindered, the powerfully accomplished, the one with a hundred aids, the one of a hundred powers, for our protection. The wealthy one, the wealth-winner.
