Stanza 8.88.1

táṁ vo dasmám r̥tīṣáhaṁ vásor mandānám ándhasaḥ abhí vatsáṁ ná svásareṣu dhenáva índraṁ gīrbhír navāmahe

We call upon you, Indra, the wonderful, the strong, with our songs, just as cows call their calves in their stalls. We invoke you, who rejoices in the nourishing essence.

Stanza 8.88.2

dyukṣáṁ sudā́nuṁ táviṣībhir ā́vr̥taṁ giríṁ ná purubhójasam kṣumántaṁ vā́jaṁ śatínaṁ sahasríṇam makṣū́ gómantam īmahe

We seek him, brilliant and bounteous, surrounded by might, like a mountain rich with possessions, swift, possessing much cattle, hundreds and thousands.

Stanza 8.88.3

ná tvā br̥hánto ádrayo váranta indra vīḷávaḥ yád dítsasi stuvaté mā́vate vásu nákiṣ ṭád ā́ mināti te

O Indra, the great mountains cannot resist you, nor can the strong ones. Nothing hinders you when you wish to give wealth to the worshipper and to me who sings praises.

Stanza 8.88.4

yóddhāsi krátvā śávasotá daṁsánā víśvā jātā́bhí majmánā ā́ tvāyám arká ūtáye vavartati yáṁ gótamā ájījanan

You are a warrior with strength, wisdom, and a wondrous deed, surpassing all born beings with your might. This hymn turns towards you for help, the one whom the Gotamas have produced.

Stanza 8.88.5

prá hí ririkṣá ójasā divó ántebhyas pári ná tvā vivyāca rája indra pā́rthivam ánu svadhā́ṁ vavakṣitha

Indeed, with your power you extend beyond the ends of the sky. The earthly realm cannot encompass you, O Indra. You have grown according to your divine essence.

Stanza 8.88.6

nákiḥ páriṣṭir maghavan maghásya te yád dāśúṣe daśasyási asmā́kam bodhy ucáthasya coditā́ máṁhiṣṭho vā́jasātaye

O Maghavan, when you bestow gifts upon the worshipper, no one can resist your wealth. Inspire our praise, O most liberal one, for the attainment of wealth.
